We recently stayed at the Taum Resort in Seminyak, we are by no means 5* travelers, however there was a lot to be disappointed about this hotel. The first apartment we checked into smelt of mold and all the windows of this 2 story suite looked out onto either concrete or fences. Thankfully after much persuasion they had us moved to a much better room (101).
After 2 days of our stay maintenances began nightly on the pool area, a lot of drilling, banging and chatter. Certainly not ideal for a long needed vacation. The noise continued till 10 pm. If we had known about this disturbing maintenance we would have certainly chosen another resort. It was extremely difficult putting 3 children to sleep when we were so close to the noise and having to walk around a construction sight daily.
Thankfully the staff were very polite and professional.
This hotel could be amazing if more money was spent and updated.
It definitely is not a 4* property as advertised.

For our last 3nights of our holiday we booked Taum resort. At arrival we noticed people checking out for different reasons; rooms too noisy, bad smell, towels with stains etc. So we asked the staff to see the rooms first before checking in.
The front of the hotel looks nice but the back part of the building looks old and the view from the room balcony is an old wall. Hotel is built like a labyrint and feels to me like a prison.
Published photos does not match with current state of hotel. We did not check-in and booked a nice villa in stead. Unfortunate the first night has been charged (we booked 3 rooms) but staying was no option for us!
Noticed no recent reviews on tripadvisor. Any recent review can be fake news!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Taum. The room was comfortable. We did have an initial issue with the WiFi but they came and sorted that out. The bathroom was good. The shower could be more powerful but it was fine. The only criticism is if a hotel is going to provide guests with white towels, they they need to make sure they're white, and not a shade of grey. You get tokens for pool/beach towels which were really nice and useful. We took these with us when we went to the beach. The food is lovely at the hotel and good value. The breakfast is good with lots of variety. We loved the omelette station. The staff are wonderful and so attentive and helpful. Good location and walking distance to main Seminyak area. Great base to explore Bali. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Very happy with the fact this resort was set back off the street with beautiful tropical lawns and gardens, which eliminated the street noise of pedestrians and scooters etc. Spacious, clean accommodation, with breakfast served by their lovely resort pool. Location may be considered a little out if you don't hire scooters or like walking. Great restaurants located within walking distance, being Settimo Cielo, Kultur and Sangsaka. Our room was quiet, comfortable, very clean, and the air conditioners both downstairs and upstairs worked really well. We'd stay again. The staff at reception, room service, and at brekky were all very friendly and helpful. Thank you for our lovely quick stay.

Room Tip: Ask for room closer to reception if you don't like walking too much

For a last minute accommodation during the new years period, Taum Resort did itself justice. Its not high class or anything, but has decent amenities to keep everyone happy. The pool area is good, drinks are reasonably priced for a hotel. The room was spacious with a nice balcony, which we didn't get to enjoy due to constant rain.
The rooftop bar area was good and you got good views over seminyak. The location was good within walking distance to many parts of seminyak.
One of the things that I would like to commend them on is - we left a dress in the cupboard and only realised it a couple of weeks after. The hotel had kept it in storage and upon my contact with them, were very swift with organising the return of our dress back to us. So Thank you.
