We stayed 6 nights at the Hard Rock to celebrate my 40th birthday with our three children and we thought it was wonderful. Both our rooms were clean and spacious. I asked for a porta cot and it was in very good condition. The activities by the pool every day were absolutely perfect for our children and they came home with medal momentos. We participated in the events and even won free drinks. Our two year absolutely loved the sand area around the pool.

The breakfast buffet selection was average but the food was fresh and tasty. The only real criticism is the amount of sun lounges around the pool are limited as there are so many cabanas. The umbrellas for shade are limited also. The band does play in the evening so we requested a room away and we could only hear the noise at a dim level.

The atmosphere was friendly, safe and welcoming. After reading some reviews, I was tentative about booking the Hard Rock however we thought it was wonderful and it's defiantly on our list of returning Bali hotels. The kids had a ball!

Room Tip: Our room was on level four away from the noise

The Hard Rock Cafe Hotel in Bali is certainly one of many 'iconic' destinations to visit while trawling through Kuta - reasonable entertainment at night, reasonable food quality, and you can be confident the drinks won't be spiked. As a hotel however it falls well short of expectations amongst an island chock full of great options.

It's a tired old girl that's seen better days. Everywhere you look it screams out for a badly needed refurbishment and some serious money spent to bring it back to it's long ago glory days. The condition of the carpets, the walls, door handles, bathroom fitouts, the condition of the splash bar - all are just worn away. The in-room tv channel selection is abysmal and the wifi is glacial slow.

Can't fault that staff were happy and cheerful - that they were. But you more often than not needed to find them and without question there needs to be some serious customer service training to bring the overall experience up to base standards. Just not terribly responsive, and certainly not terribly proactive... but very cheerful. This customer service experiences spanned from poor communication (being sent to the wrong checkin lobby areas, having to book and rebook airport transfers, special requests being ignored, and Bali speed service delivery that set ones teeth on edge).

This sense of service extended to those special HRC things such as the DJ Mixer use - poor instruction from the 'installer', replacement of the headphones (twice), use of less than legit song content. This extended to the use of the games room was a trial by fire where staff there really struggled to accommodate individual needs and requests.

The breakfast at Starz diner each morning was less than satisfactory in terms of selection and heat... everything that should have been hot wasn't. The costs for food and beverages at the hotel and cafe are super expensive - particularly the cafe poolside - so plan to eat offsite as much as your wallet demands.

Look I could go on but you get the feel - overall the whole hotel experience was/is driven by good intentions let down by poor practical execution and repsonsiveness.

What are the positives? It's well branded and with reasonable pool areas and some small slides (the web photographs are outstanding... in real life... not so much) so it's a relatively easy solution for teens and is in walking distance to Kuta 'interests' for bigger kids.

But is it a great option in staying in Bali? No.
For considerably less money you can stay at brand new and or lovingly updated villas and hotels across the island - we'd recommend Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran Bay and give Kuta and the HRC a big miss. If you must - drop into the cafe and have a burger but that'd be it. We'd pass on this and find it hard to recommend.

Room Tip: go high and go as far as possible from the main lobby area - if travelling with a family book the lo...

This is my fouth stay at Hard Rock Hotel Bali
Stayed from 12-15 august 2014. I decided to move to kuta after stay at westin nusa dua as i need to meet some friends in Kuta area.

Good things :
-Big Pool with Kids pool
-Location is excellent in the middle of Kuta
-Service is only good with the younger staff only

Bad things :
-Asked for baby crib and the crib was full of mould and very smelly, not healthy for your baby (see picture)
-The toilet inside the room smells urine
-The quality of breakfast is decreasing over time
-The buffet dinner also very poor, not recommended
-The service at breakfast is mediocre especially with the old lady with white hair, very unfriendly, there was one time she came to our table to ask how many person but did not offer any tea/coffee nor any service while she offered other tables for tea or coffee service.
-The guy with black frame glasses and earring at the reception counter is also very lousy, during check in on 3 o clock, room was not ready, asked him what time shall i come back,he said he don't know as the room is being processed AFTER 3 oclock ??????? (never heard if this policy in any hotel in the world). As

However during check out day on 15 august mid day, overall service is getting better, how come? Because I encountered some high management around the lobby as one of them actually greeted me.

In conclusion,i will not be back here

Well located right on Kuta beach in the middle of the action. The pool area was great to hang out and let the kids run amok but the food was very expensive. There is a band that plays in the front bar which is actually the centre of the hotel, great show but if you want a quiet night in your room bad luck you have to listen to the whole show. Our room to the right wing of the building was quiet but we had family stay on thd left side and they couldnt get to sleep until the band finished.
The girl at front reception (Reni, I think?) was very helpful with scanning and emailing some documents for me. WiFi works in your room and public areas good enough.
Thanks, but probably wont be back again

Room Tip: Our room was to the RIGHT of the building when you walk in, our family got rooms to the LEFT and the...

I have always wanted to stay here after being to Bali many times. Although it was in Kuta it wasn't too hectic and once in the hotel didn't know it was busy outside. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Had a great stay and really enjoyed going to the bar each night after dinner.

This Hard Rock is in the middle of Kuta and the location is great. It is on a strip across from the beach and parking can be a pain. They serve the same food as any other Hard Rock, but the layout is quite different. There's even a large patio and bar in the back.

Our family holiday of 4 days at the hotel was truly one of the most enjoyable vacations. Throughout our stay, we had very cheerful and helpful drivers Mako, Frankie and Rambo. The massage at Rock Spa was extremely wonderful and relaxing from very good therapists, LuLu, List and Adi. Last but not least the great guidance and information provided by the Ground Services Officer, George and his staff Novi.

A truly fantastic holiday at HRHB that even just chilling out in the pool, the family had a wonderful time.

Highly recommended!!!
