“Pleasant stay in a lovely hotel”
Reviewed 21 April 2012

The Patra Bali is a great place to stay, very large property with beautifully manicured gardens throughout. Its only a 2 minute drive to the airport as well, but you never hear the planes fly past.

On arrival we were upgraded to a suite, which was enourmous. Huge bed, sheets changed daily. The bathroom was huge- separate shower and bath finished with lovely italitan tiles. We had problems with the air conditioning not working and as is typical in Bali it took 3 attempts to get it working again. Luckily we weren't too bothered by the heat. The breakfast is included and has a massive range to choose from: pastries, bacon and eggs, fruit, toast, pancakes, muesli, yoghurt, the list goes on!

It's located south of Discorvery Shopping Mall, about a 15 minute walk along the beach path towards the airport. We usualy caught a bluetaxi in to Kuta during the hot days (AUS$2) and walked back at night.

At least 2 pools to choose from, swimup pool bar, separte bar as well. Perfect for relaxing. Maybe not enough pool side lounges for everyone, but not a big deal.

Would i return again? Yes, but there are so many lovely places to stay in Bali I wouldn't want to limit myself! As this is the 'sister hotel' to the Padma, I've stayed there before and loved it just a bit more because there were restaurants walking distance from the hotel and we didn't need to catch cabs.

I stayed here in February this year - I was travelling alone and was placed in a room as far from the main complex as was possible it was a long walk to the main reception and restaurant so ask for a room closer to the pool when you book- the pool area is large, very clean and right on the beach- if you want to get away from the craziness of the shopping and party precincts then this is the place to do it. Luckily I had planned a completely relaxing holiday as it was a 30 minute cab ride through manic traffic to get to the main part of Kuta. The hotel is also right by the airport but I only occasionally noticed a plane while by the pool and they don't fly directly over the hotel. The buffet breakfast was lovely with a huge range of food and changed daily. I recommend the hotel if you want to get away from it all. Also directly down the beach less than 10 minute walk is the Green Garden Spa which I recommend - I had daily treatments - Bliss.

It's my second time to stay at the Patra Resort Bali during Nyepi Time :)
I love how the staff assist us, really nice and helpful :), We check in at the lobby and the bogie car sent us to our room, My room this time is different with last year I stay, a little bit old but peaceful, I love it. We spent 3 days 2 nights there, and fully use the hotel facility and explore the resort, since we could not step away from the resort (Nyepi Day remember), for 5 stars hotel they set an affordable and free guest activity, we took to ride bicycle around a quite big resort, watched a movies at the ballroom, spas, the swimming pool is very large with a body board, wicket to play ball and pool bar :) we love it. The food was ok, no complain and once again, the staff and services was marvelous :)
3 days 2 night there just like an eye blinking, is time for us to leave :(, we spent so much fun there :)
Thank You to Mr Nyoman, Mr Adit, Mr Iguy, Mr Suamba and many other :)

We stayed at the Patra for a short stay, recommended to us by our travel agent. The Patra has a great big pool, which as a family was great! Right on the beach you can go for a stroll or have a massage on the beach right out front.

It is a huge resort so you do have to walk a fair way. We had a deluxe 2 room which is large for the family and private for mum and dad;-)

It's right next to the airport so only takes literately 4min drive and about 5/7 min in to Kuta. Expect to pay $25000IDR ($2.50) by taxi or the drivers will try you for double.

The pro's for staying at the Patra are, it's close to the airport/Kuta. Huge warm pool to relax in and the rooms aren't bad.

The Con's. It is a little noisy hearing the jets rumbling, although if your like me and love watching planes you can walk up to the fence on the beach about 500m and watch them. We had the worst shower experience, it was either really hot or cold and no water pressure at all! not sure what's going on there but that was very disappointing. It think it was a storage system.

I wasn't all that impressed with the food, I'v had much better at other resorts and it was over priced.

If you want to stay here it's not bad but there are better resorts around.

Room Tip: If you do want to stay here I would recommend a villa right near the pool so you don't have to w...

Big complex so long way to walk for brekkie or pool. No one swims at the beach , water is too dirty. We were overnighting on way to Lombok is beyond me. Pool is only 4 feet deep, 1.2m, so good for kids.
A bit expensive but food, service and bed all good, too factory like for me.
I have no idea what people see in Kuta

We recently stayed at the Patra and were slightly concerned after reading some reviews....however we were very quickly put at ease on arriving for our 13 night stay.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful we had asked on booking for single beds in our deluxe suite we arrived late at night to discover we had a sofa bed instead, we asked regarding the single beds happy to wait until the following day....we were very surprised 20 min later when two beds arrived with 4 staff carrying them upstairs and very quickly set up in out sitting area ready for the kids to settle.......the room was a great size for the four of us....the queen bed was on the hard side and the pillows were very soft but once again the staff were very keen to help ... basically if you have any issues he staff will sort it out......the food was good beer cold..............breakfast was fresh and regularly topped up we ate at different times through out our holiday........kids love the kids club and made friends with the staff..... the only thing we would suggest is that a play area ie: swings/slide/play area would have been the icing on the cake..........some where near the pool area there is a sandy area in between the pool and beach which would have been perfect to offer a variety of things to do while relaxing around the pool area.......Thankyou to the staff at the Patra for a great holiday
