“Its Ok”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Was OK for the Value of the Money.
Room was clean and the staff are friendly.
Could probably do with a Renovation in the room that I stayed in anyway.
Pool area was great and the Breakfast was Ok.
Very central location which was convenient and close to everything.
Overall I would stay here again, should I choose to stay in Kuta.

Room Tip: Ask for one close to the Pool area as I believe these have been renovated from what I could see.

Stayed here for 3 nights in a Deluxe room.
Room was average - big bed. Air con did not turn down very low and was very noisy.
Found a huge cockroach in the room which grossed me out!
Could do with new shower curtains too.

The pool area was great, two big pools with plenty of chairs. Think it would be good to have a smokers and non smokers areas as as non-smokers it was so off-putting have people smoke around us.

Free wi-fi in the lobby area only.
Hotel is in a great location - right in the centre of Kuta and a 5 min walk to the beach.

Was disappointed by the breakfast - not much selection.

The staff at reception when leaving were horrible. All they said to us was "your bill - you pay" did not get a thank you for staying, have a good trip etc. Would expect at least that!
When we asked the doorman to get us a taxi we specifically asked for a Bluebird and he seemed very annoyed at this and then tried to pass off a private driver as the "hotel driver" who said he would take us to our next destination (10mins away) for 100,000 rupiah!! The taxi only cost us 25,000!!!

Check in a joke our room wasn't ready till nearly 7pm no apology or anything, then the double bed was two singles pushed together not ideal with a gap between. Forget the pool other patrons stake the sun loungers well before 8.30am and then leaving them for long periods of time eg:over an hour or two at least before one or two people came and used them, this lasted all day so unless up before the sun don't bother, swim up bar a joke as we'll all seats taken by children leaving no room for adults. Staff not very friendly especially reception. Got back today and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Wow is all I can say about my experience at HQ or headquarters on KUTA beach!!!
Actually, there's a lot more I can say.....did you even know it was there??? I have been to KUTA beach many times but did not know HQ was there until my new friend a french tourist showed me. I have as I said been many times to the beach usually when I want to spend my last $rp before flying home. As you walk or taxi down the one way main street that takes you straight to KUTA beach one would usually turn right & head to the water or like me to the woman selling cheap sarongs. Well,,,, instead of turning right Turn LEFT!!! before you know it you are looking at the most beautiful swimming pool Bali lounges and Awesome Cafe with clean bathrooms. You must of course & rightfully so I believe, eat at least something or buy yourself a refreshing drink in order to use these gorgeous facilities but who doesn't want to lounge around a pool on a Bali bed with lunch & or a drink watching the hustle & bustle of the wonderful Kuta beach life right in front of you. Eat drink swim get that tan all in the safety of well run beautiful staffed surroundings.
We met Barry the manager because like any good boss he's right there moving amongst his guests making sure everyone is happy. He came to see if everything was to our satisfaction& we joked & laughed making us feel very much at home. I can't wait to go back & I intend for the first time to stay in the heart of Kuta just so I can go to HQ everyday, relax for a few hours on the beach then go shopping. Thanks so much Barry & please thank your hard working beautiful happy helpful staff from us.
See you real soon everyone

First impressions were not good to be honest, check in not so friendly, booked a double room and got 2 single beds. They said the would check the next day to see if they had a double room, i thought that would never happen. We managed (my wife and I) to slide the 2 single beds together, which was ok. The next day to my surprise, they told us (without me asking) they had a double room available. We loved the location of the room we had (in the middle of the front entrance, restaurant and pool) so we refused the room they offered at the back of the hotel, but they insisted we have a look. We had a look and it was 1 of the renovated rooms, was a beautiful room as we had 1 of the older rooms, but we still refused as we are not too fussy and loved the location of our first room. The older rooms are average so if you are fussy ask for a renovated room, but our room was fine for 6 nights. Showers are nice and hot, tv small, no clocks or safe but safety deposit boxes in reception area which is good. Pool beautiful and swim up bar beautiful. Not much atmosphere at pool area, but still nice for a drink. had to ask for music to be put on and they dont sell red bull!! Staff at pool bar not over friendly. we had lunch at the restaurant which was excellent, buffet breakfast not a massive choice but nice. The food here is really good! Have to ask for bacon, but at least you know its freshly cooked! Overall, its a cheap place to stay and most of the staff are quite friendly. Magnificent location, right near beach and restaurant and bar strip and shopping. Pool area awesome, but free wifi only available in lobby area or at restaurant which is ok, check your emails/facebook at brekky! Nice quiet hotel with nice cold air con!

Room Tip: The newly renovated rooms are beautiful, the older ones are average so keep that in mind when bookin...

We stayed here as a couple in June this year. We booked a "deluxe room" online and as soon as we arrived to check in we were upgraded free of charge to a superior room right above the pool. It was amazing, the only problem was how far away our rooms were from the front of the lobby but walking everywhere is a part of bali. The location was great. Walking distance to everything and in the main part of kuta. We only experienced a few problems at the kuta beach club, being the air con wasn't that cool for being on all day, it also kept turning off everyone half and hour like it was on a timer, we had to call someone up several times to fix it. We had an awful smell coming from our bathroom like it was surage that didn't bother us too much as we were barely in the hotel room and just shut the bathroom door. Make sure if you are buying drinks at the bar
Or food you pay straight up or keep any receipts for paying later on, when we checked out they told us we had not paid for any of our food or drinks whilst staying here. We were charged $150 AUS because we had no proof of receipts
Overall it was a great stay. Just a few little things to be cautious of

We stayed 22 nights room was a good as 5 star. Was not one of the renovated rooms. Only complaint was the hardness of the bed. If you like a firm mattress then all good. Staff like everywhere in Bali fantastic. The rooms when someone leaves are totally stripped. All furniture out of room and cleaned. Restaurant not as good as it was a few years ago, but getting better than it was last year. Breakfast is better than adequate and probably more that most need. Close to everything. Pool and pool bar is great. Rooms can be a bit noisy if you get some idiot next door or above. Security is 24/7 so one phone call all will be fixed. Great place to stay good value for money if you want to be in the centre of Kuta
