I write this review, while we are still at Eden Hotel.
We watched this hotel getting built over a couple of years, and decided to stay here, as its in the area we like and know.
The Hotel is very clean, staff are great, good position, but that's where all good stops, I'm afraid.

If you like to sleep in and have some peace and quiet, forget it. I have never stayed in such a noisy hotel. I'm putting it down to, their been no garden and it been built the way it is. The pools are in the middle of the hotel, and it is five stories high, so everything echoes, and I mean echoes. From screaming kids, ( in adults pool, which shouldn't be there, mind you) to doors shutting, to noise from the hotel next door.
When we go on a holiday, like most I would imagine, we go to relax and get away from everything and love to sleep in. Out of our 7 days so far it hasn't happen once. I write this at 7am, as I've been woken again by doors opening and closing.
One morning at 3.30 am, I heard some banging, in room next to ours, but I let it go and tried to keep sleeping. I woke again at 5.30 am, as it got louder and longer, but again let it go,as was not sure, as to what the loud banging was....at 6.30 am I lost it, when they started up the power tools...it works out it was the hotel staff, fixing a problem in the room next door...I rang front office straight away ( well after 3 hours) and it stopped straight away, but who in their right mind, does that at 3.30am? They had all day to fix it.
it is a very busy hotel with people coming and going the whole time.

The air conditioner doesn't get very cold, the fridge, if you want to call it a fridge is useless. The bed is very firm, but very comfortable. The shower good. I could not smell anything, like some guests have said. Room service is quick and food lovely.

I think it would be ok to stay for one or two nights, but any longer forget it.
We are here for a total of ten nights, and to tell you the truth, I can't wait to go home and get some peace and quiet.

I really wanted to love this Hotel as its in a great spot, and has everything you need, but I just can't...so I would not stay again. I will make sure I stay in the older style hotels, which have garden and not the modern type.

Relaxed clean happy convenient helpful kind happy
Eden is a home away from home. Get the suite and you won't be dissapointed. Big spacious rooms, the staff go above and beyond and accommodated for all needs. They even baked me special gluten free bread which was soft and delicious. Quiet, no road noise and a good selection if areas to eat Indoors or out, for breakfast lunch or dinner. We stayed in bungalows, home stay and 4 star all over Bali and Eden was by far the best. I've stayed 2 years in a row and will go back again and again.

All staffs are very nice and very helpfull, love the ambience of the hotel very hommy and the location so strategic, close to kuta area & airport. Next coming I'll be stay in here again. Thanks EDEN Hotel.

My friend and I spent 4 nights at the Eden Hotel and loved it. The hotel is very new and modern and the name Eden suits it well with it's many green plants and trees as well as the bright and fresh green themed rooms. We found the Eden to be quiet and slept very well at night considering you are in the heart of Kuta, you would never know! Very convenient location.

The pool area was pleasant and doesn't seem to attract larakin behavior, possibly due to its size and/or the alcoholic drink restrictions being served at the pool bar which makes it ideal if you want to relax in peace.

I would definitely recommend the Eden - very affordable and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who always made us feel extremely welcome. Thanks Eden!

This hotel was chosen based on the Reviews submitted on Trip Advisor. Following is an objective review based on our 5 day stay at the Eden in Kuta, Bali.

We arrived close to midnight, so there was not any delays checking in. Front desk staff were very friendly (as one would expect from Asian Hotels), however, their command of English probably on the lower side. When we booked the hotel there were two types of rooms available, the Eden Standard Room and the Family Suite. When we booked in, we asked if there was a pool 'access' room available... we were informed there was but it would cost us an additional 100,000 rupiah per night... which i thought was odd as their web site does not address the pool 'access' room as a variety of room with higher tarriffs.. now when i say 'pool access' it is not your typical open the door and hop in the pool.. it just means its on the ground floor and near the pool. So i did think it was interesting that they increased the tarriff... when we agreed (only because it was nearing 1am), we were then informed that no 'Pool Access' room was available for the next two days.. and that we could 'UPGRADE' to the 'EXECUTIVE room... wow... another room type which is not listed on their website. This time they wanted an additional 200,000 rupiah per night, to which we declined. They then dropped to the 100,000 addition per night and we agreed, because we were tired, and it seemed like this was going to be a prolonged negotiation as i was under the impression now that they were trying their best to 'scam' room upgrades. They assured us the room had a pool view (which which most rooms in this hotel do.) Upon getting to the room, we discovered that the 'executive' was no different to the standard room and in the morning the 'pool view' was that of the side of the building and balconies... NO pool view. When i approached the desk they insisted that the room was the 'executive' room because it was bigger (yes apparently it was like 60cm wider between the end of the bed and the facing wall... seriously??!!? Needless to say, AGODA will be receiving a formal complaint from myself... as this really amounts to 'scamming'. All rooms in the second block appeared to have pool views as all the balconies faced into the pool area... except for room 2230 (the first 2 represents the block, the second 2 represents the floor and the last two 30 represents the room number.. so you can assume that all rooms ending with 30 have the view of balconies and side buildings. 2x30.... After two days and checking with the front desk we managed to get a 'pool access' room. This is a typical standard room, but just on the ground floor. Slightly less distance between the bed and the front wall and with a shower block instead of a bathtub with shower in it. We actually preferred this room. There was more lighting in the bathroom as the shower had a light over it.

The room is as it appears on the hotel website. Bright greens, whites and a bit stark. Room 2230 was clean and well presented. The lighting on the room was inadequate.. there was no light over the bath tub and no lights over the shelve where the TV was mounted. The neon-backlit image on perspex over the bed was novel but the harsh neon light gave the room a stark cold feeling. The extra space (approx 2x30cm floor tiles) was left empty, no table or extra chairs. The only 'chair' in the room was a green fabric stool. The balcony did not have any tables or chairs either... we did not order room service as we did not want to have to eat on the bed with the plates on our laps. The bar fridge was small and stocked a few normal items. There was a wall mounted bottle opener and some basic tea/coffee amenities. Bottles of water (2) were replaced everyday. Cupboard was small and minimal with about 8 hangers. There was no ironing board and no iron. The TV was on the smaller size of LCD/flat panel TV's typically found in a hotel (Im guessing 32") There was satellite TV, however, the reception was pitiful. The remotes worked well for the TV. The air-conditioning unit worked adequately taking about 1hr to cool the room down (we had it set at 16C to expedite this process). Only one (1) room card was issued, which is chipped. The bed is firm and very comfortable and the pillows just the right firmness/softness for out tastes. There are no side lamps.. just the neon backlit perspex picture and two lights over the bed, so one could not create warm soft lighting. The blinds did a terrible job of keeping the light out. There was a light cotton material blind which gave privacy and a opaque holland blind, which had a 2-3 inch gap at the side which let all the light in. A key issue for me in any hotel is that the blinds should block all the light. So as soon as there was light, given the position of the bed it would wake one up. When we finally changed after two days to a 'pool access' room we actually preferred this 'standard room'.... instead of a bathtub there was a shower block that had a light over it and the 'extra'(dead) space was removed, which given the TV was so small actually made it easier to watch. These rooms (standard rooms) are identical otherwise to the 'executive' room (personally i do not believe 'pool access rooms' or 'executive rooms' exist as part of the room tarriff .. this will once again be taken up with the AGODA chain. The floors are tiled in all the rooms and the color scheme pleasant to the eye.

NOw the bathroom is a mixture of good and bad... clean and modern. Is predominantly frosted glass with green leave pattern on it. Internally the bathroom is well designed, with adequate mirrors, hair dryer and basic toiletries.. unfortunately they only provide 1 (one) soap which is not practical moving the soap between the hand basin and shower, so we went and purchased our own. Water pressure in the shower is adequate without being the best. There was NO hot water.. we had to shower with the water turned to 100% in the hot direction and no cold mixing.. this gave us something that was less than luke warm (took a few seconds to get used to). When we brought this to the hotels attention, the engineering team appeared and then disappeared... with results that appeared to be only slightly better.. barely luke warm. So for those like us, who enjoy a hot shower, dont expect one. Now the water was the same for both the rooms we had so I can only presume that this is a cost saving feature employed by the hotel at the convenience of its guests. The design of the frosted glass around the bathroom was novel and i see where they were going with it... unfortunately, it did not take into consideration one design criteria that most people expect from a bathroom... PRIVACY. Whilst the wall directly in front of the WC was brick/concrete, the rest of the walls facing the room were frosted glass.... so you could see the outlines of anyone sitting on the WC, taking a shower or just generally in the bathroom. I'm no prude, but when it comes to sitting on the dunny, i do find it awkward that one can be seen... and for the women that need the extra privacy during that special time of the month.. you may find this very invading. One key FAIL was ofcourse, if you wanted to use the toilet/bathroom at night, one would have to illuminate the whole room thus waking your partner because one needed to attend to ones urges. Aesthetically i get the bathroom design, but on practical levels the bathroom is a fail. No privacy, no hot water and lighting up the whole room in the middle of the night when having to use it.

This was one of the key features that i use to book a hotel.... the Eden had good reviews on the buffet breakfast.On our first morning, the breakfast area was chaotic. We were shown a table but no one came to clean the table and provide place settings... we had to ask. The offerings were average. There was little to no catering for vegetarians. My egg station was position over 3-4 of the main hot elements.. there were hordes of people waiting for omelettes. So it was very difficult to serve from the first 3 to 4 of the hot items. My wife politely waited for her omellette only to have people push in front, grab omelettes.. after 15min she finally got hers only to find it had meat in it after asking for no meat. I then preceded to get some omelettes only to find that the cooks at the omelette station spoke NO english and understood even less. There must have been 7-8 people crowded around the omelette station blocking access with one man coughing all over the fried rice and noodles while he waited impatiently. I gave up. Then went to get coffee to find that the coffee machine had run out of coffee beans.. finally finding another to only realise that there was no fresh milk placed next to the coffee machine so had to navigate and tackle the fresh milk next to the cereals. The selection of fruits, foods and juices was no larger than 3-4 star hotel.. typical juices included orange, pineapple and guava. Fruits included papaya, watermelon, pineapple (which is never sweet) and honeydew (never sweet either). A small range of breads (Croissants were great but never replenshished once they ran out) and cakes and a balinese section. On the second morning, we were directed upstairs to the conference level as there was no tables available at the breakfast restaurant... so we preceded to level 6. We sat at conference tables with typically the same selection as downstairs... on this morning the only vegetarian offering was potatoes... having explained that we were vegetarians and that all selections had meat in it, we asked for some baked beans... the staff were very accommodating and without hesitation came back with some baked beans. They did go out of their way to make sure we had a vegetarian selection and asked us in advance what we would like for the next morning breakfast. The next morning we arrived at 9:30 (breakfast service closes at 10:30) We ordered some vegetarian omelettes and notified the staff of request for some vegeterian hot food. After 30mins i decided to check on the omelettes only to find that they had been given to someone else, so re-ordered. Our prepared vegetarian breakfast (baked beans, mushroom and tomato arrived at about 10:20, about the same time as our second order of omelette.... The staff were very accommodating (in particular a guy name Ary.. full credit to Ary to looking after us) but could not keep up with the demand.. tables were left full of plates etc and it looked terrible and unorganised. The breakfast experience i would rate a 2.5 out of 5. The hot food selection was typically a fried rice, fried noodles, potatoes, a chicken dish, ham/bacon...

No doubt the best feature is the location. 5min from waterbom park and Centro. Across the road is a large Hypomarket. Close to all amenities, massage, convenience stores, money changers and proximity to the airport. i will say that there are a number of hotels in the same location that cater more for the 'holidaying tourist'.. eg Dynasty Hotel.

In short, disappointing. Two very small pools both filled by mainly kids. The main pool is slightly bigger than the average australian backyard pool. The in-pool bar does not serve alcohol..apparently (we did not use it). There are 12 lounge chairs around the pool.. yes only 12. If you are looking for a decent pool-hotel, this is not the place for you. Given the pool is surrounded by 6 level buildings on all 4 sides, the water (yes i did test it) is not as warm as your typical sun drenched pool, however, there is also the lack of any breeze which makes the surrounding pool area warmer and more pleasant. This is a large hotel with over 250 rooms so to have 12 lounge chairs around the pool is someone impractical. Having said this, this isn't the hotel for one looking for a holiday relaxing around the pool. The kiddy pool is smaller and shallower and intended for infants rather than children.

Housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping the rooms clean. They did however on one occasion not lock our door and so our room was left open to anyone who decided to walk in. We were out for most of the day, so for about 5-6 hrs we could have had our cameras/ipads suitcasees etc removed. Needless to say i was NOT impressed. Front desk was notified of this event. The hotel uses the old card on the door handle to either request privacy or to clean the room... the passage ways were quite windy so on one occasion we were woken up by housekeeping and on one occasion the room wasn't cleaned as the sign had been blown off the handle.. a polite note was left indicating this and that we should call to request housekeeping. The hotel does not stock any scales to weigh your bags.. we found this out whe packing and thinking that perhaps we had bought too much.

We did not order any room service as their was no table or chairs to eat on. We dont find eating on the bed a pleasant experience.

The foyer is extremely small...minimalist. Usually filled with baggage from people checking out. The front counter can accommodate about 3 guests checking in/out. Being a new hotel, they grounds are look good and are well maintained. The passage ways in the hotel are clean and modern. There is a small souvenir shop in the front section but did not see any one frequenting it. There are plenty of shops in the surrounding area for beer, groceries and amenities.

In conclusion: The hotel seem to cater predominantly for the South East Asian families.. while we were there i would have to say it was 95-98% Asian families. The hotel tries to deliver a'green' feeling and whilst i get where they are going with their experience the best way to describe it is... IMPRACTICAL. The hotel is not a 'holiday' pool/beach type hotel. Ideally suited more for the transit traveller or business traveller or shopping traveller. The best features of this hotel is its newness, cleanliness and its staff. The worst features are its impracticality of its design, its pool and breakfast experience.

The Eden hotel is well priced and it is clean. The Standard rooms are ok. The upgrade from that is very nice. The pools are not the best pools I have swam in as the adult pool is only 1.5m deep. The sunken bar is nice with very friendly staff and good music.
The breakfast on level 2 doesn't have much variety but that my view. What does make it pleasant to eat here is the staff are VERY friendly and HELPFUL. We wanted our eggs and bacon cooked in a special way so they went out of there way to get the right for us. I thought the service was first class.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Services was good and request was met promptly. Breakfast buffet was ok just that their sunny side up egg was not so appealing. Hotel is close to convenience shop, spa, Lippo mall and Discovery mall. I was also surprised with their room bathroom as there is a big hole between glass door and wardrobe which you can see directly to the shower cubicle. Best part is I got few time not able to enter my room due to some card key fault even though I got 2 card key. I have to go reception counter to activate my card key again and again. Not a pleasant trip due to this few problem i encounter.
