Wina Holiday Villa Hotel
Ranked #85 of 254 Hotels in Kuta
Reviewed 16 August 2011

We spent in Wina Hotel 4 days and remained quite satisfied of it.
The hotel had a lot of rooms (not enough clean), all of them with balcony on the beautiful garden; two cool pools; good and big breakfast; wifi access in the whole building.
The position was quite good: it was in Kuta, close to bars, shops, and beach.
The service was good.
Go there!!!

This was a great hotel, close to the beach and backs on to an ally way that connects poppies II, kuta and Melasti street, Legian. For the price you pay this hotel is great. It has 2 nice pools and if you miss out on a pool chair there is plenty of grass area to lay on. The only problem i had with the pool is that is closed at 8pm, other places i have stayed at they had the pools open till at least 10pm if not all night. The rooms were clean and tidy, nicer than other 3 star hotels i have stayed at in Bali. The walls are thin though and if you have loud neighbours you will have a problem. We were home late most nights so ours were already asleep. You will need to purchase some bug spray because the mosquitoes are sneaky and are in your room before you know it.

Other than that the hotel is amazing there is lots of nice little restaurants around and a internet cafe and corner store in the back ally.

This was our 3rd holiday to Bali and this time around we have found the hotel we will use every time we visit. People that complain about the standard of the hotel are obviously to high maintanance and should stay in a five start hotel. We all need to remember that it is a 3rd world counrty and they do have different standards to australia. If you want a nice place to stay then the Wina is definately the place to stay.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view room on the 2nd floor

This small little hotel is hidden at the end of a small road path off of Kuta Beach.
Kuta Beach is hectic and busling with people - a mix of locals, tourists, and surfers.
If you are looking for a calm, scenic beach, this is not that beach. This area is packed with construction, traffic jams, shopping - everything a little beach town wants to be a city! We enjoyed are nice quite stay at Wina which was at least located off the busy and loud streets but we were looking for calm and relaxation (I'll get to that in a minute).

The hotel itself is not high end, it's a little old but I was pleasantly surprised at the spacious rooms, beautiful little "apartments" and clean/respectful service. We got upgraded to a corner suite which was steps from the pool. WIFI was picked up in the rooms, just call the front desk for access.

The pool is great, it gets shade and sun and is clean and the guests at the hotel were enjoying it. The Pool was definately a better option than the crazy crowded KUTA beach.

The food here is so-so, nothing out of the ordinary than standard hotel food - at least they had fresh scrambled eggs and a variety of asian food (noodles/rice) at breakfast.
If you don't do asian for breakfast - your options were cereal, fruit, eggs, toast, and homemade bread.

For amazing food, go to GABAH (it's a bit of a walk from Wina, but it is worth it!) you can always cab it for $5. This restaurant is in the Ramayana Hotel and serves high-end quality food. Our meal was the best meal we had in Bali. I went here based on a recommendation from friends who were in Bali in Jan 2011.

Now, if you want that calm, quiet beach - I recommend Sanur beach, a 20 min ride from Kuta. We found this to be absolute bliss, we will stay here next time. The beach was quiet, calm, barely any people. There were markets and shops that lined the beach which was perfect, we got our shopping fix - Bali Artwork, wood carvings and lotsa stuff.
I recommend staying in the Sanur area if you want a different experience than Kuta.

Dear Value Guests,

Greetings from Wina Holiday Villa Kuta Bali!

We thank you for your feedback and noted you comments. We do appreciate hearing from our valued guests, as your comments are important for us to continue improving our service. Nothing is more important than our guest' comfort and happiness.

I wish to convey my sincere apologies to you for any incovenience you may have experienced during your stay with us.

First of all, we were very disappointed with your unprofessional remarks towards us. Let me refresh your memories if you have forgotten. Your stay with us was from 1st to 30th June 2011. you lounge a complaint on 18th june 2011 and we immediately change your room-to-room no.136 and you did sign on a piece a paper that you are happy with ne room given by us. The question is "Why are you trying to proved here"

Your English was very up side down and forgive me that I don't understand when you mention, "No anchovies came with anchovies"? "Did not offer something else or money back" What are you trying to say here?

Rp 10,000 for an extra pillow is I believe this is very reasonable, as we also need to justify on our laundry cost. Should you never been traveling before, Wina Holiday Villa Kuta Bali provide 2 pillowson the bed and 1 extra pillow in the cabinet for free daily and this already include in the room charges. However if you ask for an additional extra pillow apart from the include in the room then you will be chargeable. Don;t you thing this is fare?

Charged for beer, which you did not drinks? Why that you pay? Rather strange thou! No Internet? This is false accusation and you should get your fact right before making your statement.

Let measure you that what happened in your case is not typical of our customer service. We continue to be commited to providing you and all our guest with the highest standards of hospitality.

Thank you and we hope you will give us the opportunity to welcome you again soon to Bali.

Warmest regards
Huzni Muit Ahmad

We stayed here for 2 weeks and was a bit apprehensive after some of the reviews, but we found the staff and hotel to be brilliant. It's in a great spot close to everything,Breakfast is good and the rooms are good for the cheap price. The 1st tourist information/shop laundry in the back alley are very good ask for Santi she can get discount prices for any tours you want. You have to have a bintang or 3 with Lala straight across the the road on the beach 1st on the right and have a chat and sing with all the sumatran boys there, tell them Grant and Sonya say Hi We would definitely stay here again.
