My friend and I only stayed one night but we really like our room. We got the bungalow for 450000rp and extended checkout to 6pm for another 225000rp. There's a small pool right outside our room, and it felt good just relaxing in the pool if there's no one else to fight for the pool with you. Almost feel like a personal pool. Bed is good, and I had a good night sleep.

We have been staying in budget guesthouse before this, so this is really comfy for our last night in bali. The location is the best as it's near to beach and shopping areas too.

I was on trip with my friend and decided to extent by myself.
Since Yulia Beach Inn is close to my previous hotel/hard rock, i decided to stay here.
I came to this hotel at night, insisted to check the room that time but it's not permitted by the staff. But since am so tired to look for other hotel, i just made reservation and deposit here for the next day for standard room.. trusting the front office will give me a good room!! He promised to give me a good room..

But it was a total mistake. I checked in the next day, late afternoon, got a room down in the corner with a terrible bathroom, the windown in the bathroom, eventhough it's near the cealling, but can see through from the outside.. I asked the hotel guy to put newspaper there.. The bathtub is broken, only one electricity socket there that can which all TV cable etc go there too..... phone is not working...

I wont recommend it for solo traveller, unless you could afford for the eluxe room which seems nice and expensive...
it costs me Rp.400k that night and I expected for better room for it ,,, but I really regret it.

Anyway, you should have checked the rooms and other hotels too before staying in a hotel!! even though you are exhausted... You do can get better room with 400k in Kuta!!

We booked a deluxe room at Yulia Inn last September 15, 2009 for 2 nights. The room was spacious and clean. Perfect location....restaurants, shops, starbucks and coffee bean are few steps away. It is also very close to the beach, around 4-5 mins walk.
My only complain is the towels were very and looks dirty beacuse of its collor. If you will stay to this hotel, I recommend to bring yor own towels. The hotel is a bit old and due for renovation and some roof cleaning. In addtion, avoid eating on thier restaurant during peak hours, it will take forever to have your food served. Overall, our experience in Yulia Inn is enjoyable. If you are on a budget and will still want to have a pleasant vacation, Yulia Inn Beach is well recommended.

Room wise, there's nothing much to shout about. It's kinda "A BUDGET" hotel afterall. Stayed in room 811. Room is clean, sheets & bed very comfy. Though the towels are ok, but if you're particular, bring ur own. Pool is small but just nice to hang out with small group of friends after a day out at the beach surfing. But if you really need to SWIM, just go to Hard Rock and pay for the cabana at around $20 for the whole day. A lil touch of luxury and it's worth it.
Staffs are very friendly.

Location is awesome. It's the plus point, definitely. It is near to lotsa places.
3 mins walk to KFC..heh..
5 mins walk to A&W and Kuta maket
5 mins walk to Starbucks/ Hard Rock ,
7 mins walk to Kuta Beach...by the way the bakso by the beach opposite PizzaHut/Mercure is to die for!!!! Only RP10,000!!!! "Ibu", the stall owner is a very nice lady too!
Surfing is great, do bargain...u could get a session of 3.5hrs for only RP200,000.
10 mins walk to Poppies Lane
15-20mins to nightclubs Bounty(Cover charge RP30,000 - a bintang/san mig/soft drinks) & Poddy?Paddy?-great house music (was high..not sure of the exact name..heh)(Cover charge RP50,000 - a bintang/san mig/soft drinks) - it's near the Bali bombing place.

Food at the hotel's ok, but u could get some nice local fare/seafood at a "FOODCOURT" beside Mercure.

Go rent a scooter and ride round Kuta.
A tip **On the 1st day, rent the scooter and ask a guide to bring u around the area.
I rented 2 scooter 1 for the rider and friend to ride on for RP90,000(From 12pm-7pm)
2nd scooter for another friend and I for RP60,000 (From 12pm-7pm). You dont necessarily need an international license. But do not lose the license of the bike that the 'owner' pass to you. If you lose it, you'll have to pay the cost of the bike. :s
That was what we were told. Do be careful on the road but the locals are v nice ppl and the honkings on the road are just to alert you of your surroundings.

Exchange rates in bali are good. But only do it at authourised dealers. There's one near Yulia Inn. a 5 mins walk to the right after u left the hotel/chalet, in a KODAK shop.
Be careful of places that offers higher rates, coz half the time they'll do 'magic' with ur money when u passed them the money for them to recount. :s SO ALWAYS CHANGE AT THE AUTHORISED DEALERS and never let them recount your money. If they do, PLEASE RECOUNT AGAIN before u leave the place.

DO NOT BELIEVE the guides. They're out to cheat ur money...heh... Do know where u want to go and it is ok to ask for discounts at Jimbaran Bay when u have your seafood. Do not just stick to the restaurant that the guides bring you too coz half the time, they pocket in the "discount" that you should be getting.

ALWAYS BARGAIN!!!...
At the markets buying souveniers, go for at least 1/4 of the price and then settle for 1/2 of the offered price.
Having small denominations esp in RP10,000. Helps big time.
Be firm on your bargain n it's ok to leave or pretend to leave the shop coz there are 20 other similar shops selling the same item...u could get lucky in the others...

Same goes for the guides. BARGAIN!...Get a price that ure comfortable with. Try to understand their dollar to dollar.

Overall, I had an amazing trip. Yulia Inn is a gem for a good night's rest and location.

I am expecting what they posted on their advertisements of newly built hotel...everything was a BIG LIE! I dont reccomend this to any of you here and all friends. Rather..to make my trip more meaningful..I transferred to Hard Rock Hotel...for more good rooms, food and facilities.

I've stayed in Yulia Beach Inn twice now in the last couple of months, to fill gaps between other accommodation.

For the cheap price you get an adequate room that's clean and tidy. The grounds are well kept, and there's a small but pleasant pool, although the common areas are lacking in any real ambience or vibe.

The main Kuta beach is a couple of minutes walk away, and the hotel is located on of the many great streets for shopping. There's a Starbucks and the Hard Rock Hotel (and accompanying restaurant, cafe, shop, etc) a minute away, as well as most other central Kuta things. So the location is excellent.

The breakfast is basic, as is to be expected for the price. The restaurant prices are about right for the food, which is of middle of the road standard for Kuta.

The hotel staff are friendly and helpful enough, although not over the top going out of their way to please, like you might expect from more plush places in Kuta.

Kuta hotels tend to either inspire love or hate. This one sits happily in the middle. Nothing to get excited about and nothing to get upset about. If you're looking for a near beach front location in the heart of Kuta for a good price, and aren't fussed about the frills or vibe of the hotel, then Yulia Inn is a good pick.
