Positive:
Hotel is new, so the room and furniture are in tip/top condition.
Level 2+3 has a balcony, with table/chairs, quite usefull in the evening.
Price is hard to beat, so absolutly value for Money, and staff keeps the nice Indonesian standard ( think we could learn a bit in EU ).
~25 min. walk from the Beach.
Only negative, from my point of view, is the location with a limited choice of restaurants/shops nearby.

New hotel, great location in walking distance to all the Kuta action, beach, Bali Galleria Mall and Waterbom (watch out for gaping holes in the sidewalk around the hotel though). Less than 10 minutes taxi ride to the airport (fare is around 35k). Excellent breakfast with egg and noodle station, english and indonesian food, the only letdown was the juice which was not made from fresh fruit.

Taxi drivers generally don't know this hotel, so make sure you have the street address with you (jl. setiabudi) when you go out.

Clean, quiet, modern rooms with AC and TV, however a bit generic without the "balinese touch" as seen in Ubud hotels. Three free glass water bottles per day. The view from a room was towards a rubbish pile on the neighbor property, quite a common sight in Bali unfortunately.

Friendly, attentive staff and security guards. A tasty prawn cracker treat is served on check in, along with the welcome drink.

I paid $46 AUD per night, which was really good value for money.

We stayed at The Kana Kuta hotel for two nights in March 2014, during our brief stopover in Kuta, Bali, en route to Ubud. The hotel lived up to its raving reviews in all respects.

The rooms were very clean and pleasantly decorated; the spacious, open-concept lobby had a distinct Balinese / Executive feel, and the large sunken swimming pool provided a lovely backdrop for the hotel restaurant. The outstanding breakfast buffet consisted of an incredible variety of western and Indonesian foods, including extraordinary options such as Sushi rolls, and a soup bar where you could make your own creation from a number of available ingredients.

The hotel was within sight of the huge Galleria shopping mall, but a little further from the heart of Kuta's busy beach scene, which could be easily reached in five minutes by taxi, or a twenty minute walk. As such, it was conveniently located, but far enough away to offer a quiet night's sleep.

But perhaps the best feature of all, for us, was the exceptional service provided when we were confronted with a minor dilemma. We had planned to renew our tourist visas when in Kuta, very naively assuming the process would be a simple one day procedure. So we were in a bit of a bind when told the process would in fact take six business days, and would involve three steps, as we had already committed to arriving in Ubud later that day. We will be forever grateful to the staff at The Kana Kuta, in particular the Front Office Manager, Agung, for going to the trouble to complete Step Two and delivering our payment for the Visas on our behalves, so that we could pick up them up as soon as possible without having to make the additional extra trip from Ubud.

Professional, efficient, welcoming, and friendly, the staff displayed a great deal of pride in their hotel. It was a pleasure staying at The Kana Kuta, and we highly recommend this hotel.

My stay at The Kana Kuta is one of my best experience while in Bali. The staff were very friendly and warm towards me and my family. They welcomed us with warm greeting upon our arrival there even when it was late in the evening. I was impressed they served me and my family with tasty drinks and finger food while I was doing the checking in at the lobby. The staffs are very observant and care about their customers. They provide us with excellent service throughout my stay there.

Not forgetting that, the hotel is located right behind the main restaurant is a plus point. I like the atmosphere of the hotel that was calm and not expose to the main road which can get noisy at times. Thus, The Kana was a perfect choice as it wasn't directly expose to the main road but it is still located in a convenient area.

The room that I stayed in was the Family Duplex room. It was very cozy and I like the structures of the room. It can fit 4-5 person perfectly. The aircon was ok and so was the condition and cleanliness of the room. The bathroom was a bit small but it is still acceptable. The shower was separated by a glass divider so it is not that easy to wet the other areas in the bathroom.

All in all, I would say that The Kana has exceeded my expectation. My stay with The Kana was a magnificent and joyful. I would recommend for travellers to Bali to stay at The Kana

Great food (breakfast is absolutely AMAZING), clean, friendly and very polite staff. Everything was good. Balinese performances in the roadside restaurant - which were lovely - especially if it's your first time to Bali. Clean pool with a shallow end for kids - but large enough to do laps if you wanted to. A Rp 20,000-30,000 to any major shopping area, night club or beach - but far enough away that it is very quiet and good for sleeping at night.
If you want to be in the thick of Kuta's party scene... don't stay here. It's peaceful and tranquil. For those who want to get up early and get surfing or to business.
The view isn't great - being in the city - unfortunately there is a pile of garbage from the building across the rice field. We have been to Bali many times, so are used to these sights, however a first timer may be a bit surprised. The hotel itself is pristine.

Room Tip: We chose a room with a balcony and enjoyed sitting out side in the evening. If you are only staying...

i was stay here for 2N/3D on 13-15March2014. the kana is a new hotel, opened in dec'13, located in SimpangSiur (new statue of Dewa Rutji and Bali Gallery Mall). The lobby hotel is behind a restaurant(i forgot the name is), it's not a crowded area. It's not too far from Kuta, around 10minutes if you drive with car or less if you use motorcylce. The hotel is nice, the room is very clean (deluxe room #209), not too spacy but it's comfy enough with it's padded mattress. There is also a small refrigerator too. The room AC is cool with it's own remote control, so you can adjust it. Bathroom is clean, complete with amenities, but the towel hanger is somewhat higher for me (asian people hehe).

Restaurant is nice, the breakfast menu is almost complete. The main dishes are changes everyday, such as rice, noodle, chicken, fish, beef, sausage, herbs potato wedges. And also there are sushi (my kids really like it), eggs station, noddle station (i loveeee it), porridge, juice, fruits and yogurt, salad, toast, cakes.

The hotel service and hospitality are excelent, the staffs are friendly. There was an incident when i left my 2 kids in room (they nicely watching the cartoon movie), while me and my husband walking outside to buy drinks (near hotel). They plug out the power card so the light turned off, and they run out to ground floor looking for me. at that time we just back to hotel and found my 2nd kids was crying but she's carried by the hotel staff (Pak Agung) so she quite calm at that time. We were so thankfull to him, for his good responsive to handle that situation. And after that in the morning at the restaurant, Pak Agung came to our table, ask and explain again about the situation last night.

Oh ya, i noted also that the welcome drink is excelent, i really like it (orange juice mixed with pinaple juice, with strawberry syrup at the bottom of glass, and slice of lemon).

Overall, i really enjoy my stay at the kana.

The service is Very nice and food in the restaurant is very delicious but not expensive, the pool is great, the rooms are big with nice bathroom and flat tv. Water is included. The hotel is not in the city from Kuta, a little bit outside. Supermarket and ATM are in very short distance and the Bali gallery and the BMCI hospital are too.
