1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 20 Oct 2012
The floor so old and dirty. I cannot imaging that itis a hotel. If u go urself, it is hard to find the gate even. I choose it as my first night in kuta. I start thinking my bali holiday is terrible. When I see the hotel, I want to vomit aldy... Will never stay here .......luckily, I star here one night only. The following days are super nice. In a word, if u choose oasis kuta hotel, no need to come to Bali aldy.

Hotel location is great and surrounded a lot of shopping outlets and f & b outlets. Hotel coffee house staffs service average but front desk officers are friendly enough to comfort you. Room, I personally unsatisfied with the separate arrangement of its shower room and toilet, toilet is quite narrow which make you discomfort. Air cond is most weakness of the room, none of feeling of cool at all, is time to upgrade! Breakfast served buffet style and average since in this level of hotel. Overall is just average since we get what we paid, never espect too much on just 3 stars but come with a big swimming pool & basic sun chair with this great holiday environment.

I slept in this hotel for 4 nights. I decide the oasis for the position, close to kuta beach, just 5 minutes walk. The room is ok but i think is very expensive and not so nice, for this price.
by the way the swimming pool is big and the staff is friendly.

Hi all,

I choose the Oasis for it's position mainly and because from pics it looked a bit "balinese style".
Well, I should say that the swimming pool area is very nice, with this very very long pool.
The position is indeed quite comfortable since it's near to many excellent restaurants and at short distance from Kuta Square and other shopping areas in Kuta (including Matahari).
I guess that's all the positive I found.
Travelling alone, the quotation was 70 USD per night (staying 22 nights!) + 3,25% surcharge for credit card payments. They also quoted the pickup at the airport (15 mins drive...) at 175k IDR (roughly 17 USD), when avg price is 60k IDR. They also wanted the whole amount paid in advance (which fortunately I didn't agree to pay. I never do, and in this case I hadn't seen the hotel before!).
The staff is well educated, but very far from Balinese standard: it seems they don't care much about you, few smiles, ...
The room: here's the mst important point to me. It was clean. But the bathroom is something really old and bad conceived, poor materials and with no air circulation. So humidity was always high. This is even worse when, out of 2 large towels (they do not provide mid or small size towels. Just 2 large) 1 was always smelling of humidity. I do not know the way the clean and dry robes, but everyday one of the 2 was smelling.
The room is at swimming pool floor and it was totally dark at any time of the day (I guess that at 1st floor the situation is better). But most of swimming pool area is in this condition all day long. So you cannot have suntan there (I do not care 'cos I usually go to beach or to Ocean 27).
Your window to the pool is nice, with a couple of couches in concrete with pillow at the sides. No chairs outside and no chance to dry your swimsuit or shorts anywhere....
Aircon was always noisy and the minibar has never been refilled.

In the end I believe it's a good base to stay out all day and night if you do not care much about comfort except for location which is very good (I forgot the entrance from street: before you reach the lobby it's very sad and a bit dirty... Ah, also wifi...the only area where you can connect is the bar/restaurant!).
But for 70 $ (price for 22 days) it's certainly not a bargain!
Enjoy Bali!
Kisses

PS: after the first, prepaid week I moved right in front. The Royal 18, restryled in Feb 2012. It's nothing Balinese. But it's brand new! Rooms are perfect, very well furinshed (wifi, DVD, satellite, hairdryer, aircon, minibar, ...), nice materials, perfectly clear, staff is lovely, available and very Balinese (smiling, caring, friendly.... Ask of Wawan if you can, but most of them is very helping) and I spent less than 55 USD per night having a suite (last floor, quite large...).
Ah...I paid hotel transfer to airport 90k IDR (almost half the Oasis) and didn't have to bargain

I stayed at the Oasis Hotel expecting it to be the "pits" following all the reviews I has read, but I didn't find it too bad at all. Great location and an easy walk to Kuta Beach and all the shopping streets of Kuta. 50m pool was great for doing some morning laps, altho it looked pretty tired and worn out, with plenty of cracked or missing tiles. Breakfasts were very basic but filled the spot. Room was old and a little dark but it was functional and was cleaned each day by a friendly bunch of locals who were always keen to stop and have a talk. I wouldn't want to have my honeymoon here but I thought it was an ok place to stay, considering the cheap room rates and the excellent location.

Room tip: Don't stay here if dodgy wiring, patchy walls and old fashioned, dark rooms bother you. If you you just want a cheap place to sleep and leave your gear, this place is fine.

From the moment we checked in we had problems. I booked through Agoda and although I called the hotel in advance to check my bookings (Didn't seem to have any problems when I called), when I arrived, I was told I had no room booked. After an hour of trying to sort that out and getting a room in the end, we thought we could now relax. That was not the case.

Although the location was supposed to be good (there were eateries etc on the streets), the narrow road to go into the hotel felt "dingy".

The room was sandy, the AC took a long time to cool the room down and was not very cold throughout the night. Cleanliness was definitely not great.

Then we discovered the toilet won't flush and it was leaking out onto the floors. We called so many times for them to fix the AC, then the toilet, then 1 or 2 other things I can't recall now (TV I think and towels?) We kept having the staff in the room and we didn't get to relax and was getting more irritated by the minute.

Service was poor. Pool was okay but in the end they offered to upgrade the room for us in another Oasis in Benoa which we thought was annoying but we relented and was glad we went. The experience was much better there.

I will not ever come back to this hotel. Was not a nice experience, at all! Even them transferring us to the Benoa hotel didn't really redeemed them.
