Great cheap place to stay, everything is central. Staff are wonderful. Met some great people. Safe and cheap. Will stay there again. Beware of Donna lol they get a little to full on when walking down
The lane way to kuta :))

Stayed at the Dewi Sri for 12 nights, with one friend.

We had a Superior Room (most definitely worth the little bit extra) with a two bed configuration. We requested an upstairs room (which we got) as you get a little more privacy on your balcony area than the downstairs ones.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a small buffet, but quite good and sufficient selection each day to not get bored. The pool was nice and had a swim up bar. We didn't eat at the restaurant so I can't comment.

It is very central, with a short walk to most parts of Kuta (Kuta Square, Poppies Lane II, Beach Walk shops). The lane way it is down connects to Jl. Legian, so it is very easy to get a taxi if you are going further out.

I would not recommend buying from the market shops that are on the lane way, as they do little business and most of their goods are faded from the sun. You are better walking to Poppies II where there is better turn over and the products tend to be in the shops rather than in the sunlight.

Would recommend the hotel to my friends.

Room Tip: Definitely would only get a Superior room. They are the new rooms, and are much better than the Stan...

we stayed here last year november for my girldfriends birthday, was an great experience. i recomemed staying in the Superior Room's as the normal rooms are outdated, it's ver close to the nightclubs and the famous poppies lane 2 shopping lane, the srevice and quality of the hotel are friendly and family-like orientated. this hotel is a must for those who are young party-goer's!!

Room Tip: Best to upgrade to the superior rooms.. very nice and modern.

This is a rather large complex, and my room was up three floors. Seemed to be no lift that I could find near the room (only stayed one night) so going up and down the outside stairs was a little tiresome. Great swimming pool and bar area and staff very helpful.

The room seemed a bit tired and worn and in dire need of a facelift and it was hard to find any power points (except behind the TV).

Big plus is that despite it being in the mad heart of Kuta, it's down an alleyway and reasonably quiet and the price is reasonable too.

Tip - cell-phones and credit for them are cheap in Bali and the best way to communicate by far both within and outside the country. Don't do as I did and turn right in the street outside - you won't find any cellphone shops despite walking for miles. Turn left instead and go down to the end of the street and left again - lots of cellphone shops. Be careful not to buy a cellphone package if the box has been undone - might not all be there. I was in Indonesia for more than 2 weeks and was using the phone everyday - calls and texts - but it still cost me less than $NZ50 total including a simple cellphone and the credit.

Also be aware most shops along this main street of Kuta seem to cater exclusively to Australians and their peculiar tastes - selling little except rugby league t-shirts, foam beer-can holders with Australian beer logos and wooden penises. However some great little restaurants and bars in the mix which aren't expensive and usually not crowded during the day.

Second time staying at the Dewi Sri and it was even better than the first time. Stayed in a family room which is excellent value for money. Short stroll to the Main Street in Kuta and all the shopping in poppies lane. Lots of excellent spas and places to ear close by. Easy to get a taxi from the Main Street or the hotel will call one for you. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Great pool area. Breakfasts are good and we had a few lunches here too which were good. Would definitely stay here again

Friendly staff with a good breakfast. Nice pool and bar area. Rooms were fine and the value was good for the family room with sliding door for privacy. Location was fine especially for shopping along poppies lane 2. Getting to the beach was an easy 10 minute walk. It was one block from bombing memorial. They arranged a driver to candidasa for a good price. Would stay again.

I've stayed in DEWI SRI Hotel twice now with my partner once for one night last year (2012) and then 3 nights in June (2013) we found the Accomodation affordable and stayed in one the nicer rooms around the pool for roughly $80 per night! The food was fairly average and I'd prefer to eat but that's not a problem with the location you basically walk out onto the main strip and everything is at your feet! Room service is good and the staff are great! Make sure you join in on the hotel activities as its a good way to interact with other people! We did the cocktail making which was pretty awesome as you get to have the cocktails free of charge! Anyway all I can say is we enjoyed our stay here and will be back again in August next month!!
