“Good 3 Star Stay”
Reviewed 8 July 2010

I just returned from a stay at Febri's and was happy with our time there. It's a good option for a cheap getaway which was perfect as we were travelling with friends. If I was going just with my partner I would choose a more up scale resort in Sanur or Seminyak but this was a good fit for our beach and beers week.

Rooms are big and clean and well equipped with flat screen tv and large refridgerator - perfect for all the bottled water and drinks you'll want to have on hand! Cleaners come through every morning and do a nice job although I noticed they didn't replace the glasses when they were used for teeth brushing etc. Balconies are good size. We were on the top floor and yes the stairs are epic as some reviewers have mentioned but in the end they are just stairs and I didn't mind the excuse to do some exercise each day. Our friends had a room on the bottom floor which was also pleasant as it was adjacent to the nice gardens.

Service is ok, but a bit on the slow side. Breakfast is fine, good scrambled eggs to rely on and the selection varied a bit each day. The only problem here was no decent coffee, even filtered coffee - it was from a machine. We ate lunch in the hotel restaurant most days and the food is quite ok (particularly the pizza) but getting orders taken, getting food delivered and then getting a bill to sign was a considerably lengthy process. Not too much to worry about though because you would mainly only eat one or two meals at the hotel a day, with so many great dining options around Kuta, Legian, Sanur etc. Staff were kind and obliging and always friendly when you pass them, and eager to help with late checkouts, transfers etc.

As mentioned earlier the location was great for a friends getaway as it's close to Kuta, Waterbom Park, Discovery Mall and lots of bars and shopping. Getting out to go to dinner in areas like Sanur or Jimbaran is easy enough, but traffic gets manic around 5:30-8pm so it takes longer than expected. For a romantic getaway, I would recommend staying in a resort in one of the quieter areas.

Value is good for what you're paying for, we didn't expect a 4-5 star experience so we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is nice, a great pool that is really refreshing and not too crowded and surrounded by lovely frangipani trees. Plenty of shade and garden around so it's not too desolate. We were told that we could receive a complimentary one hour foot massage within a day of checking in and I was a bit skeptical as I'm not usually one for massages, particular foot massages, but we had it the next day and it was really incredible. We were taken into a proper spa room and it was really relaxing, and we all ended up booking further massages as the spa ended up being much better than expected.

All in all it was a good stay and I would recommend this to someone looking for a budget holiday.

As an Indonesia citizen, Bali is our number 1 choice of vacation, and this time was my 20th time to Bali... and I was stayed in a different hotel each year. This time what I need is a simple and cozy hotel to relax with great location & facility... also of course the price... and by searching into the Tripadvisor... Febri's hotel was the suggestion.

I booked and request for ground floor and interconnecting room because I was travelling with kid & baby & 2 elderly people, and since I booked in march 2010, they said, they'll do the best for it based on availability. ... and guess what.... those are the rooms designated for us! Wow, like winning a jackpot :).

It's a cozy room with a nice garden outside, and very convenient swimming pool. Compared to the last hotel I went to last year – 4 star hotel with double price – I can get all in Febri’s only half of the price. As I’m travelling with my 8 years old daughter and 1.5 year old son, they are so happy with the garden and pool – not too crowded and very very clean. The breakfast is quite ok and complete… my daughter love the waffle and milo. I have my parents also, and they really like the hotel arrangement – so homy.
Well, if only Febri’s also provide at least one television to watch World Cup in the lobby, since room TV is linked to the satellite and can’t get the world cup channel… There’ll be perfect 10, unfortunately we have to go to the next door café to watch it… and with baby, I had to miss 3 games to watch. But next year, with no World Cup… I think I don't need to find another hotel, because Febri’s Hotel is my destination to go. Totally recommended if you are travelling with kids and baby.

We have found Febris Hotel & Spa a very friendly and inexspensive experience and will be returning again in November. We have stayed at a number of hotels in Bali over the years and have found that Febris is what we like. The buffet breakfast is always plentiful and meals in general are very well priced the rooms are clean and spacious, staff are friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the Febri's after reading great reviews. And we were not disappointed. We were pleased with the clean rooms, cable flat screen tv, large empty fridge space, not to mention the great location! We were able to walk just about everywhere in the city area!

We took a 4 day break from the Febri's and stayed at the Bali Dynasty across the road. The 2 rooms we had the the febri's were in much better condition then the dynasty, and we couldn't wait to get back to the Febri's. It is smaller and more friendly and social and not as noisy as the dynasty is full of kids all day!!

There are 2 pools, and you were always able to have a nice quite peaceful swim, without being knocked around by other guests.
Breakfast wasn't two bad either, a little bit of change every day, but always very nice.

Overall it was a great stay, and we are looking forward to returning in January 2011!

It could be a great place to stay if only the staffs could do a little more. No one really offered a genuine smile and one morning, we were told to pay for my niece's breakfast (they're 4 & 7, mind you) by the lady managing breakfast. That was ridiculous. How much would little kids consume anyway?
Apart from that, we had a few nice rooms on the ground level facing the pool. It was cleaned every morning and well-equipped with multiple plug sockets for guests. That's really convenient.
Won't recommend the hotel to family with children. No free wifi.

Dear ro4ch Singapore,

Thanks so much for your visit last month and I apologize for not responding earlier. I am glad that you like the hotel room and its facilities. Let me respond to the issues which you addressed below.

Every guest (including child) is provided with breakfast coupon upon check-in to indicate that he/she is entitled for the breakfast. Presentation of breakfast coupon is essential so that the restaurant team is able to control the breakfast provision (charge is applied for patron without coupon). If your nieces were included in your booking, you must have had the children coupons. Unfortunately they were not. Being a family hotel, free breakfast is provided for 1 child in a Superior/Standard Room and for 3 children in a Family Room in addition to 2 adults (as long as max capacity for each room remain 3 persons and 5 persons respectively). Unfortunately the children were not reported in the booking and actual number of occupants went beyond the allowed maximum capacity for the booked room. Hence, the extra charge for the breakfast was the least for what you'd expect as the hotel did not add any extra charge for the room.

WiFi is not free at the hotel (neither is with most hotels in Kuta Beach). Febri’s only charges Rp 25,000 (less than USD 3) per hour (arguably one of the cheapest for hotel category around the area). Restaurants next door, however, provide free WiFi if you have lunch or dinner there such as Queens of India, Il Cielo Italian Restaurante and Kin Khao Thai Restaurant.

Again, many thanks for staying at Febri’s Hotel and I hope to meet you in person on your next Bali holiday.

Sincerely,
Paulus Wibowo

Just away from the really busy part of Kuta but still within a stroll for markets, great eating spots and other faciliies. A walk to Bread Stopat Kartika Plaza each morning was a great way to get in supplies. If you want to visit the real hub of Kuta it's a 15minute walk or a really cheap taxi ride- around 15000IDR. Hotel staff were very helpful but not in your face all the time. A slightly bigger pool woul be better. Evening meals were mostly at the hotel restaurant as it was excellent value and had interesting entertainers. Breakfast was certainly ample and set us up for the day. Teenage son was well satisfied with the spread and the quantity of food!! Reliable money changer across the road at the Kodak shop, DVD shops right next door and a minimart (not Circle K or 7/11) next door also. Great pizza shop 5mins away by foot. Overall a quiet hotel away from the hubbub but close enough for all amenities.

We enjoyed most of our three days two night trip. The check in time is at 2pm and the check out time is at 12 noon. Young children would love their breakfast, as it comes with ice milo, hashbrown and many more! The pool is nice and great to go on hot days. There is also a kids club where you have to sign in and out. The club is actually a playroom, which is suitable for children from 3 to 7. The hotel room is really clean. What i dont like about the room is that the bed makes creaking sound when you turn sometimes. There is free tranfer to airport. Baby cots are avilable. Try out their spa! Its wonderful!
There are many shopping places around the hotel. But the lady at Jenny's shop can be quite rude. The beach is about three minutes walk from the hotel.
Note : The swimming pool can be quite crowded at times. If you want a swimming pool which is not so crowded, Walk pass the kids playroom, and walk along the path, which will lead to a smaller but less crowded pool.
