We've now stayed here three times. Its a simple little hotel. Nice small gardens. The rooms are OK, just getting a bit tired. The staff are good. The breakfast is simple but OK. They have nasi goreng and mie goreng most morning sand if not they have Soto Ayam with white rice. There's also eggs and toast and fruit. There are two small pools and a bar area off reception. Didn't eat at the cafe except for breakfast. Biggest complaint is the hardness of the beds, only just OK. Our room had a 3/4 fridge which was a bonus. They have a variety of rooms including two bedroom suites and a three bedroom presidential suite. Prices are good and very from just over $30.00 (no TV and no fridge with roof fan) to $100.00 a night for the presidential Suite. Very good value. We choose to stay here as its half the price of the Kumala Pantai, so over 10 nights we save 400.00 - 500.00.

Room Tip: Make sure you book the right room if you want aircon, tv and fridge. They are easily identified on t...

Situation is actually in Legian, about a kilometre north of Kuta, and hence quieter. Set about 400 metres back from the beach, in a friendly area of small shops. Two pools, both small (20 metre length) but close to rooms and not crowded. Breakfast is limited in variety but not limited in amount. The grounds are well set out and pleasantly planted. There is a big hotel right next door, so that some rooms have a view consisting only of a brick wall; ask when booking, because the view from most rooms is fine. The staff are friendly, and have a good command of English. Excursions around the island are bookable in reception, and are highly recommended. A taxi with driver, for an eight hour day, costs silly money- last year it was 500,000 rupiah, but as the exchange is about 17,000 to the pound that comes to about £30. The hotel charges per room, NOT per person, and a room costs 350,000 rupiah, or £20, per night. That works out at around £300 for two people for two weeks. The air-conditioning is good, and rooms have mini-bars and safes. As in any tropical location mosquito repellent is needed. The beach is easily accessible, and the surf is often (not always) suitable for surf-boarding. There is a row of seafront restaurants catering for all tastes and prices.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking one of the pools

An easy walk to the beach, shopping, restaurants, massages.... This is a gorgeous little hotel with comfortable, clean rooms (with balconies) and two lovely swimming pools. Breakfast is average, but everything else is far better than the rate that you pay for the rooms. A great find. Very quiet and the staff are all extremely accommodating.

Excellent value and location. Had trouble finding a decent place for a family of 5 on a budget.Rooms are huge with 2 ensuite bathrooms.Hot water never runs out.Fridge holds 48 Bintangs and is ice cold.Fast wifi in room. 3 air conditioners.Huge balcony.Good buffet breakfast.Clean but firm beds. Plumbing needs unblocking but so does all plumbing in Bali.Overall a great place.Stayed 18 nights @AU$95/night. Will come back for sure.

Room Tip: Presidential Suite 1+2 is on the 2nd floor, suite 3+4 is 3rd floor

Had a delightful holiday here, so handy to shopping, dining, beach. Lovely staff and nicely laid out, quiet hotel. Not great with the room bookings though and often want guests to change rooms, and don't understand why it bothers people. Cleaning could be a bit more thorough and there were constant issues with internet access. Very good restaurant, not just for breakfast, but had a few lunches and dinners that were excellent. Very reasonable room rates, a pretty good stay for the price.

Kumala was such a good find, right on the border of legian and seminyak right around the corner from great shopping strips, supermarket, and only half a block to the beach, away from the nightmare of Kuta. Loved the quiet location an still so close to the beachfront where you would be paying a loooot more. Only 360,000 for a standard double. Gorgeous garden which is rare in bali. The continental breakfast was a bit basic to chew down but included in the price. Super nice staff always tops things off.
