“Nice budget hotel, but they don't send my postcards :(”
Reviewed 27 June 2013

The hotel is nice, near the centre and not far from the beach. There is a good small pool, the breakfast is good with several options (coffee and tea and beverage are free at the breakfast area), the room and the common area were clean, there's also a free wifi for the guests. I'd only one problem with the reception: I gave them 10 postcards asking them to send (the post office was closed during that days), I gave them also the money for the stamps (the equivalent of 10€), after 1 month no postcards arrives at destination (instead the other postcards that I send by myself arrive correctly)...

Room Tip: I prefer the first floor rooms but the ground floor one have immediate access (no stair) to the pool

Spent 3 weeks at hotel in june.Booked deluxe room on ground floor so nice easy access for the pool which was always very clean. The rooms were also kept very clean but found that the shower had to be left on for 10 minutes before the hot water appeared! 2 bottles of complentary water are supplied free each day.Only disappointment was rooms were not supplied with a safe to secure your belongings.(there is a large safe for your belongings at the main reception desk)Just a tip..try the massage place just a short walk out of the hotel to the right ask for Sindy or Illuh as the girls are very friendly and give a good massage. So in conclusion not a 5 star hotel by any means but just great value for money for those who might be on a tight budget.

My family (2 adults, 2 children) stayed at the Flora for 3 weeks - what a great hotel making for a wonderful holiday! The Flora Hotel is located down a small lane off Jalan Bakung Sari, about a 5-10 min walk down the street through the Kuta Art Market to Kuta Beach and a 10 minute walk down Jalan Legian to a variety of pubs, clubs and restaurants. The rooms were clean and brilliant for the price (Approx A$50.00/room incl breakfast). We have stayed at a hotel on our previous Bali visits close to the Flora where the rooms, bathrooms, service, cleanliness and cost did not compare at all to the wonderful service, rooms etc we received at Flora Hotel. The breakfast had a variety of choices, even for the fussiest 7 year old!!!! We stayed in Deluxe (ground floor) Rooms which included a Fridge, TV and Hairdryer. There was no mini bar as such - not that I use mini bars anyway! But Circle K, AlphaMart and Matahari Supermarket are all within close walking distance, you can purchase whatever you need and there is also the Flora Restaurant - Spring Rolls were a favourite Rp45,000 and the Flora Bar where cold drinks and food can be ordered - coldest and cheapest Bintang in Kuta (Rp13,000 Small or Rp21,000 large)!

The pool was well maintained and enjoyed by all of us! All the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble! The Flora is not 5 star BUT it is not advertised as such. It is a fantastic place to stay and I would highly recommend the Flora Hotel to all my family and friends travelling to Bali. Thank You Flora!!

We had previously stayed at another hotel for 25 years but decided to try the Flora - what a great decision this turned out to be! The rooms were spotlessly maintained daily and the bathroom was fully tiled and a joy to use compared to our previous hotel visits ( we were in a deluxe room, ground floor). The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Nothing was too hard or too much trouble. The buffet breakfast catered for both western and Asian tastes - cereal, toast, fresh fruit, salad, eggs, pancakes, rice and noodles etc. The position of the Flora is a short walk off Jalan Bakung Sari, close to the beach, Kuta Square, Jalan Legain - just perfect. For $50.00 per room per night, considering all the above I will most definitely be returning and referring this hotel to my friends and family. Thank you Flora!

Room Tip: If you prefer a sunny aspect, request the rooms on the left hand side of the pool.

Very disappionting. Booked three double deluxe rooms, got three stinky dim old rooms. The shower nozzle was blocked so couldnt have proper shower, could only give us rooms with single beds, couldnt get any hot water in shower, room dirty and stunk of cigarettes. Niosy guests couldnt get sleep, pillow like a brick. Never again

Stayed here in November 2011 for a 2 and a half weeks. Its a great location, the staff are lovely. Always willing to help. Stay in a room that's pool view. The rooms are much nicer.
The food is pretty good. Its a pretty far walk to poppies lane but do-able.

I stayed here for a week in March 2013 after booking with Booking.com (a double room is approx 45USD a night).
The hotel is clean, a bit dated, but not unpleasant. The rooms are large with a decent bathroom, the staff are very friendly and helpful if you get to know them. The buffet breakfast is reasonable if you don't mind rice, noodles and halal meat. The hotel also has it's own bar which is usually quite busy, but not noisy. There is also a laundry across the road and plenty of good places to eat within a few minutes walk.
The hotel itself is in a quiet street just off a main road, but is close enough to all the main attractions that Kuta has to offer.
I'm not a fan of Kuta itself, the beach is dirty, the town is far too developed and there are too many bars, expensive souvenir shops...etc

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor have larger balconies than those on the first floor
