“The real Balinese resort, impressive water garden”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2013

First impression on my arrival was the resort offers a highest service of Balinese culture for the guest. Early of November 2013, we stayed as a couple for 5 nights at spacious Grande Room. Though the room was quite outdated but we have no problem with the facilities as they are well maintained. Staying here is very quiet and calm. And, I would recommend this resort for my friends who seek for the peace of Balinese ambiance.
The staffs is friendly and helpful, a beautiful garden, Balinese statues is everywhere, they have 'Garuda's in every corner of hotels, Balinese wood and stone carvings, swimming pools and the white sandy beach is the best. We had an Indonesian foods for our lunch at Waterfall overlooking at the great ponds, it's inhabited with wild birds, so exotic.. You should check on the hotel TV channel, they often display the promotion programs for their restaurants or spa. We had dinner at the Japanese restaurant Genji and also Lagoona restaurant at the beach front. It was the best dinner by the beach accompanied by live music.

The minus of this hotel is only the internet wifi coverage and charges is not good. However, I will definitely come back for my next year holiday. This resort is so memorable with a strong Balinese culture.

Room Tip: Get a higher floor to enjoy all the view of the ponds. The evening view is the best from the room.

Booked 2x Grande Garden rooms (ground floor) 6-9th November 2013 -
Will start with the positives: Set in the exclusive enclave of Nusa Dua, Grounds/gardens immaculate, pools large & clean, clean beachfront, impressive huge water features full of birds & wildlife, great selection of buffet breakfast & 20 mins drive from the airport!
Negatives:Which seemed inescapable & tainted our entire perspective of the resort itself - Comp bed in room for disabled son was full of pre-existing urine stains, grout in both room bathrooms full of mould, bedding not changed (both rooms) for entire stay (4 days), wi-fi only available in front entrance foyer, tired old worn out rooms, fecease stuck in piping of bathroom (inadequate drainage) which caused and intolerable odour in room - engineer called 4 times during stay to fix the issue - temp solution of air deodoriser put under bathroom sink which would work for approximately 1 hour - traveling 5 months pregnant caused me to vomit every time entering room - could not stay for more than an hour in room unless sitting on the verandah - absolutley disgusting to say the least!!!!!!!! Expressed our complaints of sewage to front desk (numerous ocassions) & on customer satisfaction with no resolution or follow-up!!!!

Room Tip: Don't stay here unless you want to spend your holiday in a sewage pit!

Dear Shelley125,

Many thanks for having taken the time to provide us with your feedback on your recent stay with us.

I am disheartened to learn about your experience with us via this portal and it is needless to say that the situation experienced by you is unacceptable and does not reflect the service standards and quality standards we are renowned for and you rightfully expected to find.

Please let me express on this occasion my unreserved apologies for these incidents. There is no attempt from our side to find any excuses for these incidents nor would they be appropriate at this point of time.

Having investigated your feedback today personally, it materialized that communication and action on your complaints has entirely failed, resulting in the lack of service and follow up you have unfortunately experienced. Your feedback, as negative as it may be, is therefore of utmost value for us, as it provides me the opportunity to correct and adjust our internal processes, so as to ensure that guests needs and feedback are taken seriously and are responded to in an appropriate manner.

Shelly124, as much as would wish to turn back time to correct what went wrong, please allow me to contact you personally so as to find a suitable solution on your experience. Please rest assured that the situation you have experienced is a single, isolated occasion, which does not reflect our standards and quality we are distinguished for around the world.

I sincerely hope that you may consider accepting our gesture of apology and will give us the opportunity to redeem ourselves in your eyes with the service and settings as they should be in the very near future.

Please feel free contacting me at your convenience should you require any further explanation or support from my side. I would be delighted to assist where ever I can.

The Ayodya sits in quiet Nusa, now only 15 mins from the airport if you take the new expressway (only 10,000 and well worth it)...

The property itself covers a large area and feels pretty nice. There are birds to be viewed at breakfast, lakes with fountains, a couple of nice pools and good access to a beach only mildly populated with people hawking goods. The gym is small but well equipped, the food is pretty good too, the entertainment passable and the staff lovely.

But for all of that the hotel is showing its age. Rooms feel old and worn. Very old fashioned bathrooms. Lots of big buttons to push and aircon that can only be adjusted by a technician with a ladder. Peeling paint in the corridors, and worse on the stairwells. It's not horrible, it's just not close to the 5* rating claimed.

We had a good time there. Had they claimed 4* my rating would have been higher but this feels as though it's a place being milked for profit before a refurb is absolutely necessary - and as though that time has come

The Ayodya has very impressive gardens, multiple swimming pools and a great beach front. The staff is also attentive and very friendly. However, the property is aging and the rooms are in need of an update. There are many newer properties nearby that offer brand new rooms and comparable beachfront. That said, if you're able to get a particularly good price, this could be worth it.

Room Tip: The property is enormous. It takes a good 7 minutes to walk from the lobby to the beach, thus consi...

A short stroll along the beach to all the other resorts, St Regis and
Grand Hyatt, Bali Collection 10 minute walk. Pause Cafe in the Novotel across the road a real treat as is the variety of bars, restaurants and massage venues outside the Nusa Dua south gate. We rode the hotel bicycles everyday and explored the entire east coast of South Bali. Breakfast was huge with the option of dining along the beach in the Lagoona Restaurant. The price is substantially good given the location , the amenities and the service.

OCTOBER 2013 : You will love the grandeur of the Ayodya Bali Resort, Nusa Dua.

LOCATION : It's located in the condominium of resorts @ Nusa Dua amongst an impressive cluster of the Top Resorts in Bali which is a very nice experience by itself. The Sea Link/ Bridge helps Nusa Dua Connect to the Airport in 20 Minutes and to Kuta in 25-30 Minutes with very minimal traffic. Off Course the Sea Link is a Toll road but worth every penny (a nominal toll for that matter) as you travel on the sea on all sides !!

F & B : The Waterfall Cafe is an all day dining restaurant which serves the Daily Breakfast. The breakfast has a vast and a varied spread to suite the tastes of all. The Japanese Restaurant is very good with Tepanyaki & Bento Box options. The Rama Terrace is a Good place to sit in the evenings for a drink. The Lagoona Restaurant is a paradise for Sea Food Lovers. However, we stuck to the Waterfall Cafe during breakfast and preferred venturing out for the rest of our meals as there are a lot of places nearby to explore. However, the In Room Dining Options are good, inexpensive, speedy and sumptuous. We enjoyed it !!

POOL & BEACH : Nusa Dua is famous for it's Sunrise whereas Kuta is famous for it's Sunset. Ask the Hotel to give you a wake up call @ 05:30am in the morning to catch up with the Sunrise @ around 5:50am by laying yourself out at the Resort's Sunbeds on the Nusa Dua Private Beach or from the Infinity Pool on the beach; now that's your choice. We did both !! The other larger pool is a bliss during the evenings as it is just a little warm with the all day sunlight; so it helps relaxing you for the evening.

ROOM : I had read certain reviews on Trip Advisor (with no offences) mentioning that the rooms are a little worn out and that it needs a renovation; but I do not think so. If you are in a look out for a Balinese Resort, this is the place to be to enjoy it's grandeur. But, if you are looking for anything else then boy oh boy; you should have opted for the Pullman or the Stones @ Kuta. Nusa Dua is then not the place for you. The North Wing Rooms are classic, big & comforting with a balcony to yourself. The air conditioning is super; i mean the air-con chills excellently. Beware of lowering the temperatures before going to bed or you might land up with a bad cold !! The South Wing rooms are already renovated and are called the Ayodya Palace Executive Club. They are definitely better in comparison, but the tariffs do compliment the renovation. So, it's totally up to you.

The negative : There is no Free Wifi !! And Yes they charge $7 (USD) per hour basis if you wanna use the internet.

Room Tip: For elderlies - Choose a room closer to the reception to avoid the long walk

I stayed here for business during September. I had read all the reviews about the Internet charges and being there for quite some and worried about a rather large bill for connecting laptop, phone and tablet.

So I called Guest Relations who said there was little they could do about it, but would raise it with management in the morning. I guessed this was a fob-off.
But the next morning, the Duty Manager called to say that they had discussed it in the Team Briefing that morning and would like to explain the situation.

It seems these guys have a contract with an ISP that fixes these terms and conditions for access and it is currently causing a high volume of comment from guests.

The Resort Manager himself sought me out to personally explain the situation and what they were attempting to do about it.

So 3 cheers to the Ayodya management for listening and actively helping
And 3 raspberries for outdated ISP providers.
