“a good place to relax”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2012

Stayed here for 3 nights accompanying my mum on her business trip. The hotel was nice and big. I got lost during my first night since the lighting was very low during night. There were many activities at the Hotel. But some activities were not as scheduled perhaps because there were no participants. The food was good but expensive. You can go outside the hotel (5 minutes walk) to find restaurants.
You can have breakfast at any restaurants in the hotel, as they served same food. However, the taste and presentation were quite different and for these reason, I prefer to have the breakfast at the Restaurant near the pool (I forgot the name).

We stayed there for 1 week at a club room. The room was quite old, so we asked for an upgarade to a grand club king sea view the only one available....For the same price we could have stayed at a Suite at the St Regis (as we have done in the past). It was way over priced for what you got. The resort is massive, with lots of beautiful gardens. The food was ok, not much tropical fruit to be found anywhere, (this is one of the reasons we go to indonesia). We got charged extra for a fresh papaia juice, the other juices are all bottled. It is a resort that caters very much for kids and the big sign at all the pools "NO DYPERS IN THE POOL" made you feel very uncomfortable....Although the resort has 4 breckfast restaurants the food was very limited and the same in all of them. It felt like it was a mass production resort. On the other hand the spa area and the treatments are the absolute best, it is a must to see and experience. The staff at the spa are brilliant. The staff at the rest of the resort are not so great, but come around when you are nice to them. Enjoyable, but we won't be return guests.

Room Tip: the club rooms are nice and quite

Stayed here with family for 2 nights. We stayed at the club room which was a good size. No complaint about the room. Breakfast was included at the Club area which was chaotic both days we were there. Yes, it was a busy weekend but they should have anticipated it. They were clearly overwhelmed which was not great for our part. Food selections were not that good. The hotel itself has very nice facilities. We LOVED the pool. In fact, that's the main reason we went back. The beach's right there and felt private. We've been to Bali many times and have stayed in other hotels and we felt that their service was just so so.

I stayed at this hotel in the summer of 2011. but i still write this because I want to contribute to the reader. other than that I also recently stayed at the hotel is also located in Nusa Dua Area, so I can give you a comparison between the two. The recently I lived in was The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort and Spa.

Pros:
-Since the beginning came, in the lobby, it gave me the "WOW" factor ... so look in the direction of the already treated by the incredible views .... GH Bali have landscape like water kingdom. 9/10

-GH Bali is a very big ... This hotel takes 2 plots area of Nusa Dua. So this is like a second hotel rolled into one. that's why this hotel has the longest coastline compared to other hotels, approximately 650 meters. also white sand, and the distance to distant shores .... Beach Area: 8/10

-GH Bali have a 4 choices of restaurant for breakfast.... the best area i think is in Salsa Verde... (which only beachfont + pool choices) the ambience + the food/drink selection is superb 8/10

-When check-in , they give me an upgrade to ocean view with refurbrished room.... and locate me in east/south village (GH Bali is a very huge hotel , have 4 “village”)-> which is I think the best area in GH Bali. Surprise factor: 9/10

-Animal presence in the garden/ pool / beach area.... GH bali have lot of goose, pigeon, etc... the animals aren’t wild... so your kids can play with them.. i don’t like if in the hotel they have a wild animal like monkey... (some hotel in ungasan area have it) ... monkey don’t like human presence, so they can attack us....

-Location: GH Bali is located in very prime area of Nusa Dua.... closest hotel to the Bali Collection (outdoor mall area, which have so many restaurant, cafes, shops, and also Devdan Show)... so when you’re feel boring, you can easily walk about 10 min fom lobby to this area... 9/10

Neutral:
-The Hotel is very huge, so you can tired when you go to the lobby to the room (i must walk about 10 min, because my room is in edge of the resort)

-Although the room in this hotel is a refurbished room.., i feel the room decor just mediocre to others.. just to say the TV in the room don’t use the LCD /LED....

-They provide DVD Player, but you must ask it (not ready in the room)

-The hospitality: standard to others hotel in same level

-the couch (which can use as a day bed too) -> not so clean

Cons:
-The only cons for me is after the check out time...... they charged me a FB bill to my CC (next month appear in my CC statement) which cost about 200K (USD20)..... The problem is I never ordered that FB...... after that i call the hotel..., they promise to me that they will give me a refund next month.... but when i read my statement next month, the refund that GH Bali offered to me doesn’t appear in my account.... so i call again, and they promise next month the refund will come ..... but the refund never come to my account till i call them 5 times (about 4 months) :(
Because this problem i only give 4 out of 5 for this Magnificent Resort

Room Tip: Pick the room in east/south side, and near lobby area. Grand Hyatt Bali is a very huge hotel, if you...

I Choose this hotel, due to location and what I expected to have great service and accommodation . But it went all wrong from stepping out of the car. No welcome, had to cope with own bags, not direction or guidance to reception, no welcome drink, reception forms endless with no smile! Requests were not taken note off and allocation of room wrong...I felt like a number in one of the 600+ rooms
Room was average but out of date, amenities poor, not 5 star.
Food ok with some good service in arts and restaurants, but lacked any wow factor.

Beach great, a nice spot to chill out, but shame about the lack of quality, especially from the front office dept.

Room Tip: Expect 5 star, get an old 4 star

Stayed here on a business trip to Jakarta in July 2010 for the weekend. Stayed in one of their out buildings near the beach. The room was very nice and near one of the pools (that was more like a tropical lagoon!). Beach on the grounds was very clean and beautiful. The staff was very nice and helpful. Would stay here again and again!

Stayed at this hotel recently, and was not dissapointed.
Had fantastic service,and a lovely place.No complaints.
Even with the distruption due to goverment officials staying there and all the increased security,we found them very polite to us at all times.
Lovely breakfast and very prompt and polite service.
Beach fine, but sea not really for swimming in due to strong currents, but pools wonderful, especially the lazy lagoon pool.Room was fine and no complaints.Bed was extremley comfortable.
Would stay here again,no problem.
We would definitley stay here again.

Room Tip: We only had a standard room, but more than adequate.Every where seemed very quiet, and relaxing. We had...
