“Awesome hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2014

Stayed at this newly open Sofitel hotel from 10-14th February. This hotel is still in soft opening mode therefore yes, some area still work in progress, such as, the spa, the beach view room, some area of the garden.
However, this is a great hotel with luxurious amenities, awesome atmosphere surrounding the reception and quite a big room, just to name a few. So please, those who complain about price or being expensive, just go to Kuta instead. A spa for a million rupiah? Sofitel can charge even 3 million if they want to, as I said, this hotel is not the right one for you if asking for bargain or good value hotel. A luxurious hotel comes with a "luxurious" price.
What makes me to return to this hotel:
. Very friendly and accommodating staff
. Extremely comfortable and spacious bed
. Large bathroom area
. Not boring looking shape of pool (very nice in fact)
. Close to the beach.
. Awesome view of the pool area.

Room for improvement:
. Room service needs to improve: at this hotel price, I would prefer, they replace cups with new ones not just washed them in room.
.Tea bags please, not just loose tea leaves. And single portion milk would be nice.
. When you are using loose tea leaves, cleaners seems having trouble to get rid off the previous tea leaves from the filter pot..hahahaa (gotcha, yes I did check)
. Cleaners need to be informed not to shout when they are trying to get attention from their work colleague, I've seen and heard as I was walking across the corridor.

I also quite like the arrangement of the buffet restaurant instead of clustering in one area, which makes the buffet experience quite interesting. I'm a minority probably on this one as a lot of guess probably prefer more accessible arrangement. (Psst....a bit of walking does no harm during your buffet experience).

My girlfriend and I stayed here for
2days and 2nights to celebrate our anniversary and the hotel did not disappoint us. The staff were great. I guess Balinese people are great as a whole. It was noticeable that the hotel just opened a few months back. The hotel is right in front of the beach. We had more fun though at the pool than the beach because the beach is overrated. Our room was really nice- a 5 star quality. The place is far from business establishments. Good thing shuttle buses will take you to the Bali Collection every hour, where restos and shopping can be done. I didn't notice any negatives from the hotel itself and the staff. I guess it will only get better. We'll surely go back
here. The hotel is highly recommended to couples and families who want to get away from
noise and just experience total serenity. Two thumbs up to this hotel.

This has been hands down the best hotel that I have stayed at in a long time.

My sister and I came to the Sofitel in Nusa Dua to conclude our trip around Bali. We had hoped that the experience would be a relaxing one and had the thought in mind that yes we had booked a basic room but we would have access to all the wonderful amenities.

We arrived at 12pm before check in time and we walked into the beautiful Indonesian/French infused hotel delighted by the design, it is breathtaking. We were not made to wait instead, Agung who is a supervisor at reception made our check in seamless, not having to wait at all. He said that he wanted us to be happy because everyone on holidays should be happy and we certainly were. Our room was upgraded to a pool access suite which was phenomenal and we were personally escorted by Agung which was a lovely touch.

Blown away by the room we decided to unwind before exploring the hotel. We enjoyed the Lanvin products provided and the wonderful dual shower facility that is installed in the rooms. The beds were very comfortable and everything in the room was functioning perfectly.

Our next amazing experience where we were greeted with warm smiles everyday was at the Kwee Zeen restaurant located underneath the lobby. The food available for the buffet was extensive with an array of Asian cuisines. The staff were very attentive particular shout outs to Lia an awesome waitress who was so friendly and easy to talk to and Ary who was our master of water, always ensuring that our water glasses were full. The manager of the restaurant thanked us for staying with the hotel and expressed that he enjoyed having our presence because we were warm spirited. Ary then came to us when we were leaving to give us some cakes to take with us to the airport. I was honestly blown away by the level of customer service.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough, you will be amazed by the customer service and the wonderful design of the hotel. I would return here in a heartbeat and will recommend it to all of my friends.

Thanks Sofitel Nusa Dua for an amazing experience, it was exceptional!!!

Early Feb, stayed for 5 nights. As this hotel is new I will try to be fair, but I will give you an honest review. Firstly location is perfect, almost smack bang between nusa dua and tanjung benoa, rooms are lovely and spacious I think 45sqm being the smallest room. The free in room amenities are luxurious, abundant and restocked every day. The pools are enormous with many many lovely comfy pool loungers and the beach lovely and clean, great place to finish the day for a swim. The lobby is amazing, one of the best I've seen, staff are always courteous and attentive. The food okay, honestly we only ever ate in room or by the pool so can't comment on the restaurant (did not go there as it always looked empty).

The hotel itself is very pretty in the common areas. Yes it's a bit rough, but if you've stayed in any 5star Bali hotels they are all like this.

Unfortunately a few things killed it for us. Little things like dirty glasses in the drawers, no real hot water, bathroom flooding when you take a shower, mini bar not being restocked for two days at first. No room available in mini bar to put your own stuff. Rooms not being made up until at least 3pm each day, and the worst thing, the price of food and beverages. And honestly the food was good not great and sometimes missing things like butter for your toast, or sauce for fries, the prices are a blatant rip off. How can a binting cost 12.000 rupiah 100 metres down the beach at a different resort yet cost 70.000 plus tax at the sofitel. Give me a break. And the massages by the pool (spa still closed) try 1 mil a pop. I wouldn't pay that back home.

I will mention I got Bali belly when I was here and the manager organised a car and accompanied me to the hospital, then had someone come collect me after treatment, which let's be honest is unheard of in Bali. I am very grateful for this which is why I am not being to hard on the resort.

Advice to the resort, take a walk down to the Conrad and see how deserted that beautiful resort is, and you will see your future. Fix your pricing and address issues NOW, before the word is out. Competition is fierce, and people who pay big money to stay in the resorts expect 5star everything. You want to keep people in your resort once they arrive, not force them to go elsewhere for reasonably priced food/services.

Room Tip: Try for one near the pool, as otherwise it's a ten minute return trip every time you need to go...

We had a great time in Sofitel Nusa Dua in our amazing honeymoon suite ! Fabulous bed and lots of delicate amenities.
Though you are in a large hotel you dont feel people pressure and service is really perfect.
Gardens and pool is amazing. very good breakfast with so many things to choose, and excellent diner. We also liked the spa and professional masseurs.

The hotel just opened last fall, and when we checked in in February (6 months after its grand opening), we can see they are still doing some touch up/catch up work. It's nice because everything's new and shiny. However, when you pay closer attention, you will notice the workmanship is of poor quality, and the details are just not up to par. It's hard to imagine how this hotel will stand in time given the wear and tear that's already visible after only 6 months. I supposed this is just an observation from someone who has an affinity for details, but it's really not relevant to a regular visitor who's staying a few nights.

A note on the beach, it is NOT a private beach owned by the hotel. It's a strip of public beach that's physically divided by the different resorts, however, you can walk along and go to any of them. The stretch that's in front of Sofitel is not as nice as the rest.

On the positives:
Excellent staff. I bet it's a combination of the reputation of Sofitel plus the local Balinese culture, I really dont think you can get better service anywhere else in the world. The food is quite impressive too. We ate at the dinner buffet and ordered room service for two meals. They do a lot for the presentation, which made it fun.

The multiple pools and beach chairs are very nice. It was a pool bar, which serves buy one get one free during happy hour. We enjoyed that the most (not so much the beach, which is a shame).

The club is only half finished but what they have worked well. The pools are magnificent. I just loved this place. The best breakfast l have ever had. We will return as soon as possible.
