“Return trip was just as good as last time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

We first stayed at this resort in Dec 2011 with our 4 children, this trip there's just the two of us as a couple. I can honestly say our experience this time was different We had a penthouse last time this time just a king suite room 6303, perfect overlooking the pools and grounds. Room is great with bath and shower, bed and pillows excellent and aircon is FAB. Theres so much to do in Nusa Dua we didnt even turn on the TV once. Were here at the tail end of school holidays so theres quite a few kids around which doesnt bother us as parents, if we were a kidless couple then dont come here in Aussie school holidays. The pool was great, since our last trip they've put in a whole bunch of day beds poolside with retractable canopies which is great for privacy and shade. The happy hour from 5 to 7pm is great too, can have a couple of drinks then off to Bali Collection for dinner each night. The beach club is also great, plenty to do if you want to pay for activities, we went for an hour walk along the walking path checking out the other hotels along the beach which was kinda fun. You can have lunch at the beach and drinks too. We went to the Spa and had a couples massage, its expensive as compared to places outside but the atmosphere and professionalism of the staff is way different, these girls actually know how to massage, rather than take pot luck like outside, the spa prices here are still less than half what you would pay in Oz. breakfast has an OK selection for USD11 per person per day prebooked. I thought the fruit selection could be a little better. The staff have been very accomodating and even took us down to the beach club on a special trip as we'd just missed the previous shuttle. The Bali Collection shuttle only operates on the hour thesedays so we had no drama in paying 30.000IR (AUD3) to get an aircon car to take us the 1.2km in 32deg and 100% humidity, $3 well spent in my view. The Novotel Nusa Dua is a great place to stay for the price you pay

We stayed in an accor vacation club apartment. Great spacious accommodation with 2 bedrooms, ensuite to main + main bathroom with bath. Full kitchen, living & dining areas, 2 balconies with outdoor seating. We had great views over the pool area (top floor). The pool area is spacious & there is a small toddlers pool too. My daughter attended the kids club a couple of times at her request & had a ball. The hotel grounds are spacious & leafy, great for kids. Breakfast was good, buffet style. Hint don't get there around 8-8:30 or be prepared to line up for a table! Pool bar has great cocktails & snack food. Dined at the square a few times but the indo cultural night (wed), is a stand out for us, great entertainment. Dined at the beach club on our last night, wish we'd ventured there earlier, great location on the beach! Found a good laundry out on the st behind. Can also recommend a few restaurants outside the hotel that we visited. Most restaurants outside the hotel will pick you up if you call ahead. We will return June 2014!

Stayed here with my husband and two teenagers 14 and 15. The hotel is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! The food here is amazing The Pause cafe and Blue Bar a must. If it's romance or family stay it's great only if you don't want venture away from your hotel. I felt a little isolated in Nusa Dua after staying near Kuta with lots to do and venture out. There is a free shuttle from the hotel that takes you to their private own beach it is very well set up with plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas, dinning and bar area was great too. There is also a free shuttle from the hotel that takes you to The Bali Collection which when being dropped off didn't look like much at all from the front but when we got inside the complex it was amazing. Plenty of pricey shopping like Nike billabong quick silver etc and a couple of market stalls that were 3 x the amount you would pay on the streets in kuta sigh. Some awesome restaurants there too.

My husband and I booked our two week honeymoon in novotel nusa dua. From day one we had a series of small problems which led us to feel very frustrated and upset. We weree led to believe through the false marketing that the hotel has direct access to the beach. In fact the hotel is using pics from the Novotel in Benoa which is not the same area at all!!! Within the first week we had to complain twice about the excessive noise with a roaring asian baby next door. We had specifically requested a memorable experience and felt left down by the fact our complaints were merly met with a shoulder shrug. Eventually through ou additional mplaints...ie drilling and a laundry collection at 9am on a sunday we got upgraded to a suite. The hotel furthermore openly rips tourists off by organising hotel transport and making 100 percent profit on its guests. For example we paid 175 rp from airport to hotel however it is never more than 100 rph. Check out hotel webpage for price guide. I furthermore really didnt enjoy the front of house staff giggling into my face on me pointing this out. We found the food in the hotel to be pricey and mediocre. Staff were rather false and on one occasion short changed us and assumed they could tip themselves. This really angered my husband and I and we had to lodge another complaint. I mean we are only happy to tip but to be seen as walking wallets...no thanks.
The hotel is suitable for families not couples. Overall very disappointing and will not return. My husband and I have been to Thailand on several occasions and found people much friendlier and honest. We were not impressed and its been memorable for the wrong reasons!!!

Room Tip: Even though we pointed out it was our honeymoo we didnt get anything special!!!

First of all, Please accept my sincere apology for several thing that not up to your standard. We had our private beach that only take 3 minutes away and with the shuttle that operate every 15 minutes. For the hotel transport price were different from the Taxi meter. However we will always help you if you want to take the taxi meter.

The room definitely is big. The size of the bathroom is the same size as the bedroom. Furthermore there is huge wooden window which can be open in the bathroom, so that you can watch TV while soaking in the bath tub. *thumb up*

The resort itself is quite nice too. However the private beach is kinda disappointing. It is really small! Although there is a small cafe and activity booth, my bf & I just stayed for 15mins before going back to the hotel. The reason we stayed for 15mins because we are waiting for the bus to pick us up.

Beside the bus to the 'private' beach, the resort also cater bus to the nearby shopping area - Bali Collection. Actually is not really cater by the resort, it is share among with the rest of the resort in Nusa Dua. However Novotel is the 2nd stop so you definitely can grab a seat in the bus. Once reach Bali Collection, there are several restaurants for you to choose. Supermarket for you to grab some grocery and Starbucks too!

First, if you want to experience the feel of Bali in the place where you will stay, do not go to any of the hotels in Nusa Dua. What they did was convert an entire village into a huge compound of countless resorts and hotels. Very convenient and relaxing, but very sanitized as well. You won't get to meet any of the local culture and people. No mess and no noise. If you just want to have your hotel be as relaxing as possible, and if you want the convenience especially if you have kids, choose any of the hotels in Nusa Dua.

My first night was in Marriott, also in Nusa Dua, so see my review for that hotel.

My 3 remaining nights were at Novotel Nusa Dua. Compared to Marriott, Novotel was sprawling. Rooms and cottages were spread out over a big place. While it did not have the hotel feel compared to Marriott, the issue is having to walk distances from your room to the restaurant to our conference room. There was also not enough location maps and signs to help someone who is poor at finding places make it easier.

The breakfast spread as relatively okay, but the choices become more limited if you stay for a period of time. On my third buffet breakfast, I was ready to go to the nearest KFC for some traditional chicken.

The room I got was quite spacious, with a tub and a separate toilet and showers. It was strange that the mirrors were all inside the toilet, and no mirror in the room itself. When dressing up, you keep on going to the toilet. This becomes a problem if the floor is wet. A small suggestion: have mirrors in the bedroom.

Service was good. I think this is partly because the Balinese people struck me as kind and accommodating.

The pool in Marriott is better than those in Novotel. So again, if you're into such fun, Marriott is a better choice.

Bali Collection, a shopping center inside the Nusa Dua compound, is about 10 minute walk from Novotel. So this makes it convenient. You will find in Bali Collection a whole variety of shopping marts selling both high end stuff to Balinese products. Better to buy your souvenirs in Ubud market than in Bali Collection since the prices are way lower in Ubud.

So all in all, a pleasant enough stay in Novotel. But I had a better one in Marriott.

Room Tip: Try to get one nearer the pool.

We had a pleasant stay here in Oct 2013. This hotel is very popular with Australian families with young children. If you are looking for a quiet romantic hotel, this may not be suitable.

We stayed at a 1 bedroom suite that has a spacious living, dining and kitchen. Since the restaurant is not halal certified, the kitchen came in handy. We brought some instant foods that were simple to prepare since finding a supermarket with halal meats/products were troublesome in Nusa Dua.

Our room overlooks the pool - superb exciting view but of course with the noise. We requested for a King bed but the staff was quick enough to join the 2 beds and re-did it as 1 big one.

This hotel wins thumbs up for its huge and beautiful landscape. Lots of greenery surroundings and big gardens for kids to run about. The Children's Club is well-equipped with games and activities.

This hotel is NOT on Nusa Dua beach. There is a shuttle service that takes you to the gorgeous beach, 2-3 mins drive away.
