“Unforgettable Place for Holidays”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

We stayed for 4 nights in Club Med Bali, the hotel layout is very beautiful and it is worth paying to stay for holidays. The beach is very clean , beautiful , quiet and well maintained . The neighbourhood hotels can't compare with Club Med beach. We have all day FREE DRINKS at the beach and very large seashore !! While other hotels are very crowded with sunbath chairs. Buffet meals are great and varieties. And surprisingly, no mosquito is found here because they spray insecticide at the garden every 6pm ( which they said it is safe ) . U have to be in room, close the door or go far far away when they spray. Great stay and highly recommend.

After having wonderful holidays in club med with children,we decided, rather apprehensively to try a visit without children. My sister, husband & I chose fun over luxury & were overwhelmed by the warmth, service & friendliness of local staff Our housekeeper Sudarmi cared for us as if we were family and all the lovely GO's,including those with whom we had no contact other than a cheery welcome. We were most impressed by daily personal greetings from JB & Rob.We enjoyed the fun filled Shows presented by the seemingly tireless, talented GOs. Many thanks to the attentive Bar Staff who kept the elderly ladies topped up with cappuccinos on the Beach. So we found that age is no barrier to enjoyment at Bali Club Med.!

Room Tip: Rooms in the 4000 Block are quiet.

Besides the beautiful grounds and some GOs/GEs everything else was very much below the standards of what you paid. Towels that are bone thin, pitted marble floors in room and bathroom, food that were at best described as average, shows that are an embarrassment as they were worse then high school productions. I can accept tired rooms that are dated but no excuse for badly maintained room. Dingy and grimy shower( no exaggeration see photos) that I had to shower trying not to touch the walls of cubicle. Aircon not cold and no thermostat. The all in sports equipment was a joke! Cracked tennis rackets, extremely old balls and the golf clubs had grips repaired with black masking tape and golf balls so worn that it had no dimples. Meals were so bad that we ate out when we had a chance. For the prices charged, it's club rip off! Lots of better resorts to spend your hard earned money on! And yes I know you are travellers choice so don't need reply with that line mr chief de village!

Our family holiday to Club Med Bali was one of the best holidays we have had. Where do I start? A huge variety of activities for the kids. The kids club did look good but our girls (ages 4 + 7) just aren’t into kids clubs so we hired a couple of AMAZING nannies and they spent every day with us, keeping an eye on the girls in the pool, having lunch with us, helping the girls get their hair braided etc. The pool drink service is excellent….dangerously excellent. They do not stop offering you drinks. The adults only pool - ‘the zen’ pool - was divine, like something straight out of a brochure. I managed to read two novels in 4 days – more than I’ve read in a year. The rooms were clean and there was a huge variety of food on offer at the buffet restaurant. The a la carte restaurant was also superb. My husband and I really couldn’t fault Club Med. Having the two beautiful Nannies with us the whole time gave us a balance of hanging out with the kids but also being able to have a break when we wanted. I can’t wait to go back!

Room Tip: We got two adjoining rooms, closer to the Zen pool area. They were far away from the 'bar and t...

We have been to Club Med at least twice a year (for 10 day stays) for many years. We have met up with family from the UK many times as there is something for all ages. The accommodation is not luxurious but that is not why we keep going. The indonesian staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. In fact we consider some of the staff as very good friends.

The GO's are are all very skilled and ensure that a good time is had by all. We would particularly like to mention Oka and Made at the golf, Pratama in the restaurant, Edi at the Zen Pool and who could resist Rosie's welcoming smile at the Bar. A lot of the credit for the marvellous atmosphere must go to the management e3specially JB who is a kind and generous Chef host. We are turning again in October.

If you are looking for a 21 st Century family resort, forget this one.
The so called superior rooms were superior in the 1970's.
The promoted "international gourmet cuisine'" is average at best.
We don't know how the wonderful GO's put up with it.
Beware also of terms and conditions which may seek to revoke your national legal rights to apply the law of Indonesia.
In summary, worst holiday in my 56 years. Go elsewhere.

Room Tip: To avoid the dinosaur superior rooms, if you decide to go, purchase the premium rooms.

Dear Mr Micheal,

On behalf of the Management team here in Bali, I am sorry to hear that your holiday with us did not meet your expectations. I have received your complete feedback from our C/R Dept and was glad to see that despite your disapointment on the lead in room you chose and cuisine we offer, your son had a fantastic time with us at the kids club. Please be assured that I will review the rest of your feedback with my management team here in Bali.

Kind Regards,

So before I give my review my advice to anyone who travels to ClubMed, you need to stay minimum of 7days to really experience what ClubMed is all about.
We got invited to travel with some friends to ClubMed in April, first time in Bali, first time at a resort. We were quite nervous because we had a 5 months old & a 2yo daughter, we didn't know how things were.
To our surprise, the staff were utmost welcoming on our arrival, the resort manager came out to personally greet us (this wouldn't happen at anywhere else). The staffs were very thorough with their explaination to all the information we needed to know. Our children had such a great time, we got some alone time as well.
On our department the resort manager farewell us & the a few of staff member greeted us good-bye, even some who had days off. The memories & experience we had & shared with everyone was completely pricless.
We will try our best to do ClubMed once a year. I recommend people who want to do family holiday to consider Clubmed & if you do consider it invite another family or 2, I SAY THE MORE THE MERRIER :)
