It was our first time at Club Med Bali and we really enjoyed it. It was very entertaining and the GO's were very welcoming. We enjoyed all the facilities that Club Med had to offer, the trapeze, archery, the snorkeling was a great experience and lots more. The Junior Club was lots of fun, never letting me get bored. There is lots of activities that are fun and exciting. We would really like to thank Sagar Mansukh for always being at our aid and making us feel comfortable and helping us celebrate a religious day although we were away from home, it was great to meet him. Thank You to Godlief Solim for being a great GO to the Junior Club, It was really fun and to Pamela and Sally, thanks for great hospitality. We also really enjoyed the shows as well as the dancing and songs thereafter.

Room Tip: Depends on personal preferences.

This was our sixth Club Med family holiday (previously: Lindeman Island X 2, Bintan, Phuket & Cherating) and we had such a great time we will go back to Club Med Nusa Dua again next year. Every year we think this will be our last Club Med holiday, and it is always a holiday which caters for every one of our family as an individual so we decide to go again the following year.

Our children (15 and 13) loved the GOs and range of activities. Thank you to Pierre, Tama, Fagar, Gede and Sandy for making their holiday so special. Their only disappointment was that the 'Passworld' (teens room) was very basic, but we understand there are plans for this to be upgraded. (They loved the room at Cherating).

The Chief of Village, Jean Benoit, went out of his way to help us enjoy our stay- as did Rob who was always so friendly and attentive- excellent. The bar manager, Yigit, along with the ever-smiling Dwija, made going to the bar a joy. Yigit tried his hardest to find diet tonic water locally for me (I'm a type 1 diabetic so couldn't have the cocktails).

The restaurant was excellent, with an amazing range and choice of food daily. We were very impressed with the hand-hygiene gel issued to every guest before every meal- a must at a buffet-style restaurant. The restaurant manager, Pratama, and the chef, Ravin, were available to talk to about food needs and were very approachable and friendly. Jonathan was always there with a smile and was very helpful on our last day to ensure our ice pack which we use for travelling with medications was frozen and ready for our flight home.

Other GOs who made our stay special were Marcello, Piet, Hendry, Sagar and Manu who were all good company as well as doing a fantastic job.

I spent a lot of time chilling at the Zen pool- and Suwiti was always there with a smile and a cold drink. We also spent a lot of time at the beach bar and enjoyed the extremely friendly service from Sandra and Iing.

The range of activities meant when we weren't chilling, or sight-seeing, there was plenty to do. My husband loved the 6 hole golf course, which he played on every day and as a family we used the tennis courts several times. The kids used the trapeze and other activities- snorkeling etc. The rooms were OK- spacious enough and clean, although the beds were extremely hard. The bonus for us was the one flight from Melbourne, as opposed to more than one flight to some of our previous Club Med resorts.

Thank you again to all the GOs who made our holiday so amazing!

Room Tip: We prefer to be away from the main pool and bar to avoid night-time noise. We stayed near the tennis...

There were 14 in our family group, including 3 families with young kids (10yrs to 18mths) and a retiree. We stayed for 10 days.
Club Med Bali really caters well for everyone. There are many small touches that make it amazing, my impression being that they consistently work to ensure you are genuinely satisfied and hopefully return to Club Med.
Special mentions go to Tino, Deena and Dora in the bar, Gav on the beach and lifeguard Son.
Food is buffet style, which hits the spot with quality and variation. For young kids it means they can eat whatever and whenever you want them to. The chefs and their staff work hard and are proud of what they present to you.
Infact the overall impression is that the staff at the Club Med are happy to work there and nothing was ever too hard or too difficult. They are comfortable to have a laugh with you.
Kids Club is awesome, activities are varied and we found that on days we went on tours of Bali we could not wait to get back to the resort. On our final day we even cancelled a tour to instead spend the day at Club Med!
Highlights - trapeze lessons, the pool, kyaking, the beach, bar, nighttime activities (especially casino night), and the beautiful, safe and spacial grounds.
One small disappointment is the Batur Restaurant (a la carte), food options are limited and staff less helpful. We hear this area is to be redeveloped soon anyhow.
Rooms are 4 star but neat and clean, serviced well, and we had a balcony which was great.
This place is value for money, everything is included that makes is so relaxing and easy.
We're already planning to return again next July to escape Adelaide's winter!

Room Tip: rooms close to the bar area may be noisy until late evening

We stayed 7 days at Club Med Bali mid July 2014 as a family of 4 with 2 children (11 and 9). This was our 4th Club Med holiday in Asia previously having stayed at Bintan, Sapporo and Cherating Beach. First the BAD.

1. Nothing to do with Club Med, but the arrival into Bali was a real hastle. They have revamped the airport since our last visit 18 months ago and there is simply not enough staff at immigration. As an international airline pilot, I fly all over the globe and this had to be some of the worst delays I have experienced on arrival. We waited almost 2 hours between stepping off the aircraft until we cleared immigration. Be ready for long lines and make sure you have the right funds for the arrival Visa.

2. If you have stayed at a Club Med before, you know what you are going to get and unless you have paid A LOT, you are not expecting much from the rooms. The rooms are not why we book a Club Med. It is simply a place to sleep, shower and get ready for dinner. With that said, there is a minimum expectation of clean sheets and clean rooms. After a delay out of Hong Kong, late arrival into Bali and Bali delays at the airport we were too tired to complain the first night but the following morning we did ask to speak with the front desk manager about the issues in our room which were - A) Mold on most of the pillows B) What appeared to be dried blood stains (probably from someone scratching mosquito bites on their legs through the night) on our sheets and lastly C) Very moldy curtains in our room. Photos attached. To their credit, the remedied the situation the same day and we slept on fresh, clean sheets and pillows throughout our stay. They replaced the curtains as well. I realize that the mold on the pillows is most likely because of guests either laying down on or sleeping with wet or damp hair on the pillows but for the prices we are paying we shouldn't see this. Perhaps some kind of waterproof cover underneath the outside pillowcase is the answer.

The Good -

1) The Staff are always incredible. We travel a great deal and have stayed at hotels all over the world but regardless of wether you stay at a 5 star property or a 1 star hovel, the staff can make all the difference. Quite often we choose "lesser" properties simply because the service is great. The GOs at Club Med Bali are all incredible and Fantastic. Special Mention to Matt, Anshley, Mimi and even Monique who has only been with Club Med for 2 weeks! Everyone is always exceedingly friendly and they go way, way out of their way to give that little bit extra. They all work hard to make sure you and your family are having a great time. Our son would like to call out Son (lifeguard) who was always so friendly to him and had a great smile on his face.

2) The daily activities and timetables are well thought out and cater for everyone. We loved Circus School, Windsurfing, Soccer, Tennis, Bingo, Pool Volleyball and even running along the coast. Our favorite show was the Wizard of Oz as the music set list went great with the amazing acrobatics! The Foam party and Bastille Day celebrations were great!

We stayed 7 nights with our 3 children: 10,8 & 4 years and our extended family. The trapeze was the highlight for us and the kids, the staff were excellent with them and truly made our stay memorable. Special mention to Mimi who was awesome with our kids, so much fun & professional and so inspiring for our kids to be a part of this program. The other highlights were the foam party, archery, yoga, entertainment every night, zen pool for the adults, and safe environment for our children to experience & explore. All of the staff were so friendly and made our stay so relaxing & enjoyable. Rob was very personable as a GO and it was lovely to get to know the other staff members too. We would book a club med holiday again and the kids already want to go back!

We absolutely loved our time at Club Med Nusa Dua and had a brilliant, relaxing, engaging week there. In fact, it was so good that even after we spent the second week of our holiday at a different hotel (which we'd pre-booked) we returned to Club Med to spend our last day around the pool.

We travelled there with our 3.5 year old and our 4 month old baby and found the facilities excellent for both.

Having now stayed a number of places in Bali (see previous reviews), the Club Med is our no.1 choice for a place to stay with kids.

Staff:
What makes a stay at Club Med unique are the simply exceptional staff. The G.O.s are everywhere - wonderfully welcoming, brilliant with children, speaking multiple languages each and never hesitating to drop everything to help you.

We got superb service from Jonathon, the assistant manager at the main restaurant, who really was a shining light of our stay - constantly doing everything he could to improve our experience.

At the poolside bar, Deena always had on a super friendly smile, ready to chat and look after us.

And, critically for families, our babysitter Korni was amazing. Let me say that again, if you stay here, be sure to ask for Korni (sounds like 'Courtney' in English). Korni was brilliant with our kids and was proactive and absolutely trustworthy.

Facilities for Babies:
If you're travelling here with a young infant you'll find an excellent set up.

In the main restaurant they have a 'baby corner' (see photos), including bottle brushes and washing up liquid, bottle steriliser, long-life milk and jars of baby food. Also freshly made soups daily expressly for young kids. All staff will quickly go out of their way to help you.

For nappies and other baby supplies, you can take a taxi (or simply walk) about 500m north of the hotel to one of the many convenience stores where you'll be 12 nappies for about $2. Don't go to Bali Collection, which is highly overpriced. These convenience stores (near the Conrad hotel) are much better.

Rooms:
The rooms are perfectly fine - spacious and well cleaned. We had an interconnecting room, which is a great option with kids. Beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are certainly up to the mark. Sure, there might be fancier rooms in other Nusa Dua hotels, but for families the Club Med rooms were great.

We were kept well-stocked with bottled water and regular amenities (soaps, shampoos etc).

Activities:
Club Med is famous for awesome staff running excellent activities. The kids club was brilliant and the GOs were constantly organising things, like jumping castles, trampolining and games in the pool. My wife even had several goes on the trapeze (no extra cost).

Seriously - your children will never get bored here and the pool area is so convivial you can't help but meet parents, kids and staff day in and day out.

Meals and Drinks:
Club Med is all inclusive and we certainly never got bored throughout our week long stay. The buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner) contains plenty of variety that should suit even the fussiest eater and we happily tried our way through western, Indonesia, Japanese, Korean and European dishes.

There is a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available from the poolside bar, with beer and soft drinks available at the main restaurant with meals. It's a great feeling to never take out your wallet.

Laundry Facilities:
There are washing and drying facilities in buildings 1, 3 and 5 (on the ground floor). Buy tokens at reception for 25,000 rupees (laundry liquid is available at the shop for 10,000 rupees).

Photos:
The Club photographer is constantly shooting snaps. Well worth a look at the little stall beside the main boutique. For 30,000 rupees a shot it is pretty good value.

Stamps:
Stamps available from reception for about 7500 rupees.

Room Tip: Buildings 1, 2 and 3 are closest to the main pool and restaurant.
