“Awful stay”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2013

When you arrived at this hotel, the first impression can be good. But when you enter in the bungalow, your opinion change immediately. The bathroom was so dirty that we called someone to clean up. It was infested of mosquitos and as the windows of the bungalows couldn't close we couldn't stop the mosquitos to get in...
The beach is dirty, the sea also. It is far from the restaurants, and the foos at the hotel is expensive (meal at 55K roupies).
It was so awful, that we had rather lost our account of 50% and find another hotel just 500 meters far!
We stayed one month in Bali, and it was the only hotel that was bad.
Don't go there.

we came across this resort by chance, driving by and noticing a huge patch of open rice field followed by a small resort at the beach in the far distance of the road. we were so glad we turned around and checked it out. the place has only a few cottages, not much in terms of modern amenities (no pool, no playground, no A/C, no TV) but makes more than up for it with charme and atmosphere.
if you like seclusion and don't need to be "entertained" by your hotel, this is perfect. great library of shared books too - and a pretty good wifi connection - what more do you need?

ps:
they do not allow you to bring your own booze, so you won't encounter any (too) drunken neighbors.
i feel compelled to add that if i was here with kids, i think they would not enjoy it here so much, since the beach is not ideal for kids (much too small) and there is not much else to do but swim, read and relax.

Room Tip: unlike most other places in lovina, they actually do have 2 beachfront cottages - and they are lovel...

I was driving up north and got caught in a storm, so I was looking for somewhere to rest and randomly ran into this place. I couldn't have been more lucky! It was amazingly beautiful, every small detail was perfect. This resort has a very romantic location, the restaurant has a view on the ocean and I can say this was the best dinner of my life (notice, I'm italian). We decided to spent the night and slept in a cosy and pretty bamboo-bungalow. The morning after we had breakfast and then a relaxing balinese massage.
They also offer excursions.
I will for sure come back to this place as soon as I can!

Very nice and clean bungalows and homey feel, but I will never come back to this area as long as they don¨t do anything about all the trash on the beach and in the water. Swimming was quite appalling, and the dolphin watching ride took us through a veritable dump in the sea.

Nothing wrong with the place as such though, with nice staff and very cosy bungalows. The excursions they offer are quite overpriced - ask at the other hotels in the area instead - and the service sometimes slow.

i had a wonderful 02 nights stay at the arabian night bungalow. dont worry though it is not air-conditioned, but it is really windy and cooling at night. their restaurants serves very very good food and also they have balinese dance show every sunday. During the time when i was there, the paddy field outside kubulalang was on their riping season, the paddy field is golden brown during sunset which is an absolutely breathtaking view!

do know that there are gecko in the room, they tend to bark/scream during night, i literally jumped off my bed in the middle of the night not knowing what isit! haha

one not so good thing about this place is the place is full of dust! i didnt dare to open the mosquito netting as i was afraid that the dust might fall all over my clean sheets

Room Tip: they only have 2 seaview bungalows - night sky and arabian night, it is totally worth your every cen...

Nice Bamboo-Bungalows, beautiful garden, good restaurant, nice staff.
Perfect place to relax at the beach.
The place is as clean as possible with millions of ants living in the bathrooms (I wish the many Tokehs living all over the place would eat them too!)
The Disco/Karaoke-Bar across the street is very annoying at night, but they said there is a chance to get that shut down soon.

i stayed in this lovely resort on 2 separate trips for a month each time, i loved the simple down to earth style, small, right on the beach, quiet, and natural. the owners are good fun to speak with and the staff are kind and friendly, inviting me into their homes and to ceremonies.
.there are rats that need a place to pass through while the rice is harvested (and sometimes even when not) and so i had a permanent "guest" in my outdoor bathroom everyday. also some clothes were eaten by the rats as they dried outside my room, and apparently because of some unknown crumbs in my baggage , some uninvited ones climbing up the wall of my open roof bamboo bungalow and falling on the floor at night while i was in bed, leaving me traumatized and sad that i had to leave this place i loved so much..i had paid $1000 a few days prior to the rat episode to book for another 2 more months here, and when i had no option of a room without possible rats i chose to move. and did not receive my $1000 back, since it was me deciding that i deserve to stay in a room without rats and that it is because i must have had crumbs in my bag, and the owners said that is a choice i made, and they cannot refund my money, otherwise they are jeopardizing the interests of their hotel..
.so even though we were and are still friends, i feel it is only fair to warn other naive guests like me, that if you are sensitive to rats, know they are part of the reality of the savanna rice field all over Bali, and if you are concerned about paying for services received, and not just those that have been kindly paid by you for 2 months in advance...think twice...
