Well where do i start, this would have to be the best Villa we have ever stayed in. On arrival at the airport we where greeted by our driver and taken straight to the Villa, although he was friendly he didnt speak much. On arrival to the Villas we where greeted by Sri and Ardi, who then took us to our Villa. ( Villa C ) walking through the entrance was amazing we where blown away, beautiful gardens and pool area, then on entry to the villa wow, it was perfect. Frangepani flowers and hibiscus flowers dotted around the villa and our bed had flowers on it like a love scene, beautiful touch. A full kitchen area with on tap water, hot and cold this is the way to go, also a big standard size fridge :) Every morning we were greeted by the girls for a cooked breakfast and great conversation. As my husband was practising his Indonesian.
The cleaning was dicreetly done when we were out another great touch. In the evening the girls would come and turn down our bed leaving cookies sometimes flowers and closed our curtains.
If we went out of an evening on return the secruitiy guys would greet us, like they were truly making sure we were home safe. Thanks guys xx To Windi, Lu De, Made,Kadek, and Suti thankyou for your kindness you made our stay so wonderful. Ardi and Sri thankyou also for all your help especially Sri for your help with Garuda Airlines. The pool and gardeners always freindly and very disceet. And secruity guys we also would like to thankyou.Hope i havent missed anyone. We have travelled to bali many times this is truly a hidden gem.First time for us in Sanur maybe a little to quiet for us but for this holiday it was what we where looking for. Plenty of taxis around and only 65,000 rupiah to Legian anyway.A must do is to go to Charming for a meal, great food and great prices. To finish off we would like to say thanks for having us it was truly a fantastic place to stay couldnt ask for more.

Room Tip: In all the time we where there the villas were full and we never heard anyone so i personally dont t...

We stayed here with another family who had Villa A and we had Villa C. We loved how our villa was practically a house in the fact that there wasn't a separate villa for another bedroom. We have two young children and wanted them under the same roof as us. It may seem strange but we found The Zen Villas was one of the only villas we could find that had this all inclusive house.
The customer service staff was fantastic, especially Ari who was always there to accommodate our needs. The location of the property might be of concern for other families who have young children and who don't want to walk the windy streets back to the main road. We found it easier just to get the reception to order us a taxi and especially as they are so cheap. I would highly recommend staying here and booking in early. We already tried in March to book here again with the same family for Xmas 2013 and it was practically booked out then!

Room Tip: Even though our Villa C was very nice, we liked how our friends who stayed in Villa A were at the ve...

Sorry we couldn't squeeze you in for Christmas this year - maybe next year?

The rooms were nice a clean and breakfast good , but be careful , my wife lost a pair of $700 dollar ear rings , they were in a box with twenty other pairs , all the others were just costume , only the pearls were taken . The villa was always locked when we were away , but she left the box in a draw in the bedroom .

I wonder if you could please check the property to which you have added this review - I believe you stayed at another villa, and not The Zen Villas which is managed by my company. My team at The Zen Villas have never had an incident such as this, and I respectfully ask that you remove this review and re-post it to the correct property. We also hope you will consider The Zen Villas for your next trip to Sanur.

Very comfortable and well appointed Villas. We had a 2.5 bedroom Villa, The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The pool was smaller, but that was inconsequential, it was great to have a quick plunge. The breakfast was brought to the Villa each morning. Room was clean and tidy. It was about a 5 minute to the main st and another few minutes to the beach. PLenty of cheap taaxi options as well. Staff were very pleasant and always helpful.

Our family, including 2 young boys, stayed at the Zen for 4 nights. We loved it. The Harmony Villa had very large pool, well equipped kitchen, comfortable large bedrooms and great bathrooms ( including an outdoor one). The staff are great and helped arrange supplies upon our late night arrival, and a very good chef to cook us up a lovely dinner.

It is a good place if you want to get away from the world for a bit and just read, relax and swim!

For those with small kids who can't swim but can crawl / walk, you may want to make sure you lock doors at night, as the rooms in the Harmony Villa didn't connect to one each other and you don't want the little one strolling into the pool.

To the team at Zen, thanks for all.

Let me just start by saying the location is pretty well-tucked inside an ally. Luckily we had arranged for the villa's pick up at the airport. There was once we took a cab from kuta and the driver sort of lost his way. No panic though as the driver was able to get back to the main road fast.

This villa is one of the really good ones in Bali. It is not top notch luxury but definitely a fantastic one for a group of friends.

I was particularly impressed with the service. Prior to our arrival, I had requested for a little help in some decoration of the villa as it was one of our friends' birthday. Fiona replied promptly with a cake list and assured me to see what her team can come up to.

The welcome team was great. All smiles! Genuine smiles!

So the birthday came and we went out. I thought it might be a good idea to remind the reception of the decoration and cake thingy. When I went to the reception, Adi remembered me, or at least which villa I stayed in, and told me, without me asking, that all will be ready when we come back.

When we went back in the evening, we saw the banners and balloons nicely decorating the living area. It wasn't too much but it was a super cozy feeling. And the cake was in the fridge, candles and all.

The only thing we regret is we couldn't stay longer.

Thank you, especially to Fiona, Adi and this lovely lady at the reception (sorry I forgot your name!), and everyone at Zen Villas for our wonderful stay. We are definitely going back again.

P/s: it might be good to look into providing some basic toiletries like toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, etc. =)

I always research using tripadvisor and with Zen Villas I wasn't disappointed.

Seeing the review from 26 Feb 2013 just a month before we were due to arrive did worry me a little but not too much as some of the comments seemed almost funny "needing shoes to walk around resort" and "no toothbrush provided" well, apart from on long-distance plane journeys I wouldn't dream of using a 'provided toothbrush' rather than my own, but hey, that's the beauty of tripadvisor giving everyone the opportunity of putting their experience across for others to make informed decisions on whether to frequent establishments either hotels/restaurants or attractions.

The booking process was very smooth with multiple options of how to make payment. I've actually decided on NOT staying at places in Bali because the only method of payment has been writing my credit card details on a piece of paper and faxing to them. Zen offered paypal as an alternative method which put us initially at ease.

All things stated in my booking were carried out - perfect airport pick-up on time, clean and swift transfer. Twin bed set-up as requested and plenty of mosquito repellent and even a travel adapter plug (I'm sure we could have asked for more but 1 was sufficient to our needs). Even breakfast being served in our villa at the requested time. Check-in was swift with a welcome cool towel and drink.

Villa A (one of the serenity villas) was perfect to our needs. The safe, as requested was big enough to store a lap-top (essential for our daughters pre-exam study needs). Comfy sofas, comfy master bed, our two teens didn't find the twin beds too comfy with soft mattresses but this could be as they are temporary beds as a queen bed is normally in the room. The outside undercover table was perfect with fan above if required. The pool in this villas was a great size (guessing around 10m x 3 or 4) and a consistant depth all the way across (would be perfect for a family game of pool volley-ball if we could only find nets in Sanur!).

Lots of thoughtful 'extras' are one of the things that has earnt Zen Villas the high rating on tripadvisor:
Unlimited bottled water, Sarongs for personal use, enviro bags to use during the stay, dvd, book and magazine library, turn down service (never will I underestimate this touch again!) torches as the villas are away from the main road (my husband counted the steps one trip and it was 900 steps main road to villa!). We generally caught a cab home in the evening as there were four of us and although we always felt safe walking during the day we were pretty tired and relaxed after an evening out and negotiating scooters driving down the lanes at night didn't appeal to us. Taxis are easy to find (ask for a metered one) and a few of the restaurants we enjoyed had a 'pick-up and drop-off' service if you dined with them and/or food delivery to the villa option if you fancied staying in. From the main street it wasn't too far to Hardys and once we found the right 'cut through lane' was also close the the beach path.

I feel the main reason Zen Villas are so highly rated are the staff - Adi, Sri, Windi, Kadek (I apologise for not remembering everyone's name including the excellent gardeners, security staff + pool maintenance who had a spider out of our pool within seconds of me requesting this with Sri in the office) I have to give a particular "shout out" to Juli who I was really hoping to see on our last day to give a more personal "Thank you & Goodbye" to but we didn't see her :( .In addition to just being wonderful with breakfast and her cheery smile and friendly chat, she really went above and beyond when my daughter became faint and almost blacked out. Juli came straight over to us and started massaging pressure points on her hands, head, face and shoulders - got us to get luke warm water and brought her back round with a lot more colour in her cheeks - Thank you so much Juli, we hope to see your photo on the wall in reception as we noticed you are missing on the staff profile wall.

Overall, this was our first trip to Bali and we weren't overly excited about going, we just wanted a cheap getaway, a relax, away from work phonecalls and emails (they weren't to know how excellent the free wifi reception was were they!). Thanks to tripadvisor forums I chose Sanur and Zen Villas and wasn't disappointed with either choice. This may well become a frequent trip.

Room Tip: If a pool is important request a villa with a bigger pool like Villa A or the harmony villa. Villa A...

WOW! Thank you so much for putting so much time and effort into your review of The Zen Villas. It really is appreciated, and our team members are always so pleased and proud to see themselves mentioned on the internet!

I am very confident that should you return, you will see Juli’s picture on the Team Photo Wall. Julie has only been part of our small team since last month, and she is well on the way to completing a very successful probationary period.

Again, thank you and we hope to see you all again very soon.
