We found this place by chance when extending our holiday. Spot on! 7 lovely villas each with a private swimmingpool and private beach. Villas are roomy, comfortable and fully equipped. Excellent service. 2 small restaurants: one at the main street of Sanur and one on the beach. Very good value for money!

We just returned from staying in a two-bedroom Ajanta villa. This is a stunning property with a large private pool set in a beautiful garden. The total environment is an inspiration. Eliane, the manager, greeted us upon our arrival and her and the large staff treated us like honored guests.
We ate a huge breakfast each morning at Ajanta's "Beach Cafe," with the warm Bali sea touching our feet. Then we would take a long walk along the beach while the sun was rising and the Balinese were beginning their day. This is the most peaceful, relaxing, and culturally interesting vacation we have ever had.

The Ajanta Villa is spotlessly clean with lovely furniture and there is an air of both informality and sophistication. We loved the privacy, but the staff went our of their way to chat with us and made us feel special and welcomed. The weather and the villa matched our vacation--just perfect.

We were staying 5 days in Ajanta and we had a wonderful time! The villa was always very clean and we were very happy with our breakfast, which we never could finish! The staff in the villa and in the Cafe's were very helpful and we felt understood and helped.
We can only recommend the place!

We have just spent 10 days in villa I at Ajanta. Villa I is a 2 storey enclosed villa that looks exactly as it does in all of the pictures. The private pool is a good size and it was always clean however, we were disappointed with the overall cleanliness with the inside of the villa. It looked like it could do with a good scrub. Both bedrooms have a spa bath but we didn't use them as they were very dirty around the jets. The bathroom sink was also dirty around the drain as was the shower floor and both looked like they hadn't been properly cleaned in some time. The bathroom mirrors had the same marks on them for the entire time and the sheets were changed once in 10 days ( we know this because there was a small hole in the sheet and we used to joke each day whether it would still be there or not - sure enough it was there for 7 days straight!!) The floor was gritty and could also do with a good clean. The plus side were the staff especially the lovely ladies in reception. They always had a smile on their faces and tried their hardest to please, though sometimes this was difficult as their English was a bit hit and miss. Little things like racks to dry wet bathers on were not available. We were forever trying to dry our bathers on the outdoor furniture which wasn't ideal as they often left brown marks on them. We ended up going to Hardys to buy a $2 piece of rope to make a makeshift line. Each day we received 2 bottles of water in each room (4 in total) but one day we received only 2 and the next day none. We weren't too concerned the first day but I asked if we could get our water bottles the day we received none and I was told that they were very sorry but they had run out - sorry for the inconvenience! It might only be a couple of bottles of water but it is the little things that add up - surely they could have ducked across the road and bought some to put in the rooms - it seems like the obvious thing to me. I also asked one of the ladies in reception approximately how much a taxi ride from Sanur to Kuta would be. She had no idea and told me I could get a driver for the whole day which I didn't want or need. Once again it is the little things that I would expect they would be able to help me with.
We were also disappointed that Eliane never introduced herself during the whole 10 days - this is who I had communicated with prior our arrival and I assume she holds some type of management role. She didn't seem to care about our experiences and how things were going and wasn't interested in us at all. Not good business sense and quite unprofessional. Breakfast was included each morning and we had our choice of eating in our room, the Street Cafe ( located at the front of the villas) and the Beach Cafe (located on the Beach). The breakfast in the room was good but it was just too hard to order when everyone wanted something different (that varied from the standard full European or Continental breakfasts) as the ladies at the front just couldn't understand what we were trying to say. Our requests weren't complicated- toast, bacon and baked beans for hubby, plain toast and jam for the kids and a fruit platter and toast for me with juice for all. We didn't want cold cuts, cereal, tea, coffee etc. This proved to be too complicated and we were bought an array of things we didnt want ( or eat) and very little of the things we did want. Also, the only juice available was a very sickly overly sweet orange type juice. We preferred the Street Cafe as we could all order what we wanted individually and they made a variety of fresh juices - the pineapple juice was a big hit. The downside was consistency. My husband ordered the European breakfast everyday minus egg and tomatoe and the variation he got on his plate each day provided us with some morning entertainment. Some days he got 4 thick slices of ciabatta toasted (they don't do regular toast) but on other days he got 2 and some days they were cut so thin they'd be lucky to be 1/2 cm thick. Some days there was a good serve of bacon and other days hardly any there at all. Some days he would get jam and butter on his plate other days just butter. The baked beans also varied from a heaped teaspoonful to a heaped tablespoonful. We usually sat outside to eat breakfast as we enjoyed watching the various sights from the street but one day it was raining and we were forced to eat inside the restaurant which proved to be very unfortunate. A dog ( with a bad case of mange and fleas) continually came into the restaurant and proceeded to walk through the restaurant down the side of the kitchen into a door which was either an office attached to the kitchen or some sort of storeroom. He obviously knew his was around. A staff member would chase him out but he would turn around and go back in stopping to scratch himself on the restaurant floor in front of the kitchen each time. The kids thought this was hilarious - hubby and I didn't quite see the funny side. Needless to say we didn't return here and instead tried the Beach Cafe which was ok also - same menu as the Street Cafe. Ajanta Villas has the potential to be fabulous but it is only just average. If you get a good price I would stay here - we paid $219 Australian dollars per night for a family of 4including breakfast - if not I would look else where.
One last thing for your info - the trip to the beach through the back gate is interesting to say the least. It is like running the gauntlet - you have to travel down a very narrow alley with small shops one each side with store holders harassing you wanting you to buy things. You exit this section into more market stalls though these are at least wider apart and not so claustrophobic. We experienced this a couple of times and then decided to miss this altogether and walk down the street at the front of the villas into one of the neighbouring hotels that have direct beach access. There is security at the gates but if you walk in like you know where you going no one seems to mind. We always said hello to the security guards and kept on walking. A much better option!!!

Room Tip: Villa I and j are next to each other and both are 2 storey villas. We stayed in villa I and we could...

I suppose it was good value for a family but a bit of excess room for a couple, not really good value but the service was good. Probably the only decent time we had was in the villa, Bali won't get me or my money again, traffic was horrendous...I'd rather go somewhere else.

Room Tip: Think seriously about going to Bali

Pretty decent price for the stay. We had an awesome private pool and a 2 story villa with all the extras. This place is great for two couples or 4 friends who don't mind sharing beds! 24hr service and helpful staff I'll be back again next year. :)

We discovered Ajanta Villa after having lunch in "Beach Café" one of the group restaurant and we decided to book a villa for our family. They came to visit us and we thought it was the best place for them, as it was near from the beach and for the quality of the place! The villa is beautiful with a private swimming pool, two bathrooms and two beautiful bedrooms. Our family spent a lovely time!
