My son is stuck in this hotel at present having had his rucksack stolen from his room while in his shower! He had locked his door, when he went to the management/staff they made out they didn't understand (really?) and not interested and don't respond, makes you wonder if they are aware this goes on ..... Sad end to a lovely 11 month experience but do not stay here as it takes a week to replace your passport with no access to funds unless you have some very good friends like my son has who loaned him money for the fee for the replacement travel doc, change of flight & hotel/food for another week, all in all a very unpleasant and expensive experience staying at this hotel which is in need of refurbishment and new management!

This is a hotel that is set in a beautiful garden, which is maintained well. Close to the beach and shops of south Sanur.
The rooms are dated, but function, we stayed in the family room (A1 and A2) basically 2 rooms with a living room. We found a full trashcan in the bathroom, a lot of dust on the shelf (like many months no cleaning).
It is not so much the facilities, although we don't understand why some things are the way they are... Like the too thin plastic mats on the beds at the pool, the very very dirty table cloths in the dining room... The breakfast was very limited, almost bad, and with too many rules.
The problem with this hotel seems to be management. Staff does not want to do a lot and are not particularly friendly (they are usually friendly in Bali, that is so great about Bali). We called it the hotel without a soul...
Will not stay again.

my g/f and i stayed at the Palm Garden 5 years ago and it was ok then for the price.
we booked again and stayed 5 nights this year. in the last 5 years nothing has changed, except the price has gone up quite substantially and it is now competing with better hotels with better facilities in the area.
the rooms are dark, there is only one powerpoint and the ratan furniture is wearing and now you have to be careful as there are nails sticking out. the chairs on the balcony are similar and the cushions are old and smelly and again nails are sticking out of the chairs.
the breakfast has not changed, 2 slices of toast, 1 patty of butter and 1 patty of jam and some fruit, which never seemed to be ripe.
the pool is not shaded and it is impossible to swim as the sun will burn you. why not put a sail over the pool??? the pool-chairs are still the same and are showing it, some of the legs are broken and/or rotten. the staff will take the pillows off the chairs and fold up the umbrellas around 7pm, why, sometimes you come back from a day sight-seeing and would like a swim.
the staff are SURLY and are really not interested in the guests, never a smile, not even from the manager. the staff in the restaurant watch TV all day. the meals from the restaurant are awful, that is probably the reason that after breakfast is served the restaurant is empty for the rest of the day. that is ok with us as there are plenty of nice restaurants close by.
apparently the hotel is owned by a business-man in Jakarta and maybe he should come down one day and observe the neglect in the equipment.
why not put a sail over the pool, replace the old pool-chairs and covers, replace the old chairs in the room and the balcony etc.etc.
the WIFI is expensive and very slow, better go to Hardy's(the supermarket) where there is free and fast WIFI.
that is why we were very disappointed on our second visit. there are many hotels nearby that are similar in price (Abadi Kokora, Hotel Jati etc)that offer better facilities and more personal service.

I came with my boyfriend and we had a lovely time at this hotel. It's a short walk to the beach, the gardens are beautiful, our room was very spacious and quiet. The furniture was pretty basic and staff weren't tripping over themselves to help us find things to do - as I've experienced in other parts of Indonesia - but the price was good and we were very comfortable.
The only things I would say is that the bathroom floors never seemed to dry properly, and the restaurant food was nothing special. Lots of cheap western style options. My advice is stay here and venture to one of the other hotels or restaurants for meals, there are plenty of excellent places to eat around Sanur.

We were there my girlfriend and i for a weekend break..what a break..!!
nice from outside..but the room is so old fashion, even little dirty with "water spots" on the ceiling..AC leeking, bed extra hard as wood!!
we sure asked to change.. "all rooms are same" said the guy at the front desk..!!
The breakfast was supposed to be "a la carte" no more in buffet.. but all with supplements!!
the staff more attracted to look the football match on tv then make their job..you look disturb them when u ask something!!
we sure wont go there again..
but good location!

We stayed here for three nights and it was like having our own apartment as it took up one floor:
Positives: Lots of space as it had a dining room and lounge, 2 bed rooms and 2 bathrooms. Excellent price. We ordered room service one night when it was raining which was great. Great pool area where we could watch the kids while we read a book
Negatives: The TV's needed to be update and it was missing from the main room
