“Loved it, wish we could come back !”
Reviewed 3 January 2013

We stayed in March 2011, sorry I don't know what happened to my review.
Our family loved this place and still talk about the great holiday we had here. Our room was more then we were expecting for the price, plenty of room for our family to spend time relaxing watching dvds or swimming in the pool. The gardens were lovely, the atmosphere so relaxed and we really enjoyed meeting people and having a few drinks. But as mentioned if you didn't want to mingle you didn't have to. We found the staff could never do enough for us, our room was always clean. The beach was only a short walk and the little restaurants there served good cheap meals and beer. If you don't want to go out they can prepare basic pool side food or you can order in from one of the restaurants close by, they have menus at reception and will let you use the phone or call for you.
I also found the owner a laugh! And his wife a darling.
The breakfast was great and the kids loved there ice coffee every morning!
What more can I say, we would deffinately go back if we could.

Stayed a week. Ron, Irma great hosts, staff could not do enough for us. Breakfast by the pool was excellent, great time to meet other guests and chat. We loved the place. Being small everyone was very friendly talking around the pool and sharing Bali information which was excellent.
Will return again.
John and Kath, Mandurah

Room Tip: Only 8 rooms around the pool, all good

After a lot of trips to Bali over the years, this was our first time in Sanur. Being all new, we weren't too sure about accommodation, but after spending a week in the family villa, Ron and Irma's place has become our choice of places to stay for future trips. It has a bit of everything all rolled into one.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the included breakfast every morning by the beautiful pool, was always a perfect start to the day. It's a communal area, which always made time for socialising and getting to know the other guests and made our stay feel a lot more welcoming compared to staying in the big resorts where you don't know anyone.

There's too many things to list, explaining how much this place suited our family perfectly, but it may not be for everyone. The villas have more of a traditional Bali feel that are very comfortable and extremely relaxing. Its not a modern luxury resort where you are waited on hand and foot 24/7. If all the bells and whistles are what you are looking for, I suggest that you don't choose to stay here because of the cheap prices and then feel its you duty to give a bad review and warn people on how horrible your stay was. If you want luxury, you have to pay for it... even in Bali.

Thanks again Ron & Irma. Will be seeing you again soon.

Jodie and Chris

A great recommendation from a friend.. and he was understating how good it is.
Mangrove / Sanur Beach Villas is now my best find in Bali.
The location, the pricing, the people & the facilities are easy to rate. They are all excellent.
It is the style of this wonderful place, however, that makes it so good.
Privacy or complete inclusion? Or a little of both? It is your choice and it's easy to make it happen.
The honour system involving the Bloody Huge Beer Box Thing With Heaps Of Ice is brilliant. It makes it simple to have a drink and relax, and it makes it simple to meet other, like-minded guests. It IS fun!
The real strength of the place tho', is those who make it all happen.
Ron & Irma & Rosie & Everyone On The Staff are there for their guests. I reckon that they really enjoy having people at their place.
A magical find and I'll be back every six months.
P.S. B/Ron has a small knowledge of Australian Rules Football.. ask him to share it with you.

Room Tip: You can purchase Vodka / Bourbon etc, at Donald's Mini Mart for approx. $35AU. Or you can pay $7...

Sanur Beach Villas are like a home away from home. The gardens are amazing and as soon as you walk in the gate it is paradise. The rooms are older style but comfortable and have great air conditioning. We also had a pedestal fan which was good for the nights when you don't need a/c.

Breakfast is included in the nightly rate. Love the mixed omelette with bacon and tomato.
You can eat breaky on your veranda or under the gazebo and chat with other guests. We have met some fantastic people while staying Sanur Beach Villas, including hosts Ron & Irma.

The beach is within easy walking distance and there are some great restaurants close by.

Thanks to Ron and Irma for another great stay at Sanur Beach Villas.

Stayed at SBV for 3 weeks in September and loved it. Ron and Irma are great hosts. Darwin, Daniel and the rest of the staff cannot do enough for you. Rosie is an absolute gem! Breakfast is included in the price- ooohhh the iced coffees! Location is at the southern end of Sanur, at the end of the beach path. Close to some great restaurants such as Mama Putu’s, Gardenia Café and Kesuma’s. If you get the chance, book into the Bamboo Shoots cooking school with Irma and Dewi – the coconut pancakes are divine! Adi the driver is extremely knowledgeable and great to take trips with!
Thanks Ron and Irma. We’ll be back!

Surprisingly for 350,000 rupiah a night including breakfast this is a little oasis, with attentive staff. Ron is a character and very sociable to his guests, especially if you are social with him and helpful about local hangouts and shops. They do have icecube trays in the room freezer, stubby coolers and good quallity bottle openers.

Irma, Rosie and the other girls and boys are good value, as is Adi the driver who Ron organised to pick us up from the airport and who also used for a few trips out for sightseeing and shopping.

Small establishment with 6 single rooms and 2 twin villas, which all had a verandah facing the pool, which was nice, clean and just right temperature for sipping those bintangs in from the Big Red Esky. The BRE is a great honour system, trade in your bottle tops and pay the 15,000 rupiah as you go.

Irma and Dewi ran a great session at the Bamboo Shoots cooking school which is onsite, recommend it to anyone.

The only downside would be the noise of the occassional motorbikes on the road outside leading to the popular beach.

Room Tip: Choose rooms 2-6 or the villas, not room 1 which is closer to roadside.
