We love this little gem of a restaurant! We go there at least once a week! Kokoya has a lot of hidden secrets, it will take you a while to go through the menu. Their fish is fresh and the staff is super friendly. They have a mixture of tasty dishes, from sushi to grilled meat. Take a moment to explore the menu, be bold and try new things! The Cheese Age, The Salmon Crispy Roll, and the Buta Kakuni are some of our fav on the menu...

Me and my husband totally love it here. We love the ambience, we love the staff, and most of all, we love the food!!
We've been here twice, and they never disappoint us.
My husband loves the Karee Soba, and I love the Cheese ball.
The price is reasonable, and they have a very wide variety of Japanese cuisine in their menu.
You only need to preapare around IDR 150k for two, and your stomach will explode. Hehe. Their food is gigantic.
We spent IDR 18k for Cheeseball, IDR 55k for Sukiyaki, IDR 18k for Salmon Kawa Furai, and IDR 25k for one scoop of icecream.
I wish the staff can get better uniform, though. I saw a picture behind the cashier where the staffs wear pretty kimonos.

Other than the disaster of the takoyaki (octopus balls), the fish was fresher than Ryoshi down the street. Other items on the menu looked okay.
Nice and affordable, but nothing to write home about. (home is Japan, so maybe I'm too picky)

We are a family of 4, and after reading the reviews decided to have dinner on a Tuesday evening.
Only 4 types of fish available, when ordering our meals waitress wanted to subsitude the fish that they did not have on the menu for the cheaper fish. My wife asked if she could have salmon instead and she replied that salmon was far to expensive.
They were prepared to sell the dish listed on the menu for the same price with cheaper fish but expected us to pay more for the fish of our choice. We were only asking to exchange 2 pieces of fish. Such is their focus on business that they lost 4 customers over 2 pieces of fish....

We'd heard about Kokoya although we're reluctant to shy away from Ryoshi (Sanur), an old favourite. Well we've now shyed away and Kokoya is our preferred local Japanese. Great food, fresh, good price and really ice cold beer!!... Even if its only half as good next time we'll be happy
