“Wonderful stay at a very private hotel”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

We had a time share exchange to Royal Bali Beach club Sanur. On arrival we was surprised to find it was located on the by-pass a very busy road. However, you soon hardly noticed this once inside your accommodation. The road Traffic was no bother. We stayed in room 121 on the 2nd floor. The accommodation was adequate and clean. Yes I understand it is under new management and up for an upgrgade. However, this does not detract from the ambience there, quiet, relaxing and tranquil. Staff are very polite, friendly and welcoming. Our stay there was enjoyable and we take away some good memories.
The hotel do put on entertainment some nights but most people choose to dine in their rooms or travel to sanur beach area which has an abundance of Bars and restaurants. Which is ok if that is what you seek on vacation. The Balinese dancing night at the hotel was fun and enjoyed by those who attended.
Our trips arranged with the hotel was - well organised, interesting and informative from a cultural perspective.
We even managed to have a Fish meal on one of the beaches and see the sunset go down. A truly magical moment.
I learnt how to cook traditional Balinese food and enjoyed both the food and the experience. Chef Eka was very patient.
All in all - we had a great stay at Royal Bali Beach club, met some lovely people who we have kept in touch with and take away some great memories and photos of our stay in Bali.
Look forward to a revisit in the near future. Thanks to staff and team for making our stay a really pleasant one.

Room Tip: Room 121 is good location (2nd Floor) and spacious. However as there is no lift, would not suit less...

We were close to everything we ever needed only $3 in a taxi to Hardys for shopping in fact $3 was all we paid to go everywhere. The staff were awesome and friendly. We were in a 2 bedroom with 4 adults and we all enjoyed the stay we would go back again. Just on right of resort was a small convenience store and a bakers shop. Rooms were always cleaned daily.
Tip - Only $3 for a huge water bottle with tap left in our room.

Room Tip: Our room was ground level right next to the pool. Fantastic.

Beach Club!! It is on a busy main road and at least 20 minutes walk to a beach. This resort is well past it's best and should not be classified as "Gold Crown" as it is not to that standard. Nice staff is the best accolade I can give this place. You can do a lot better, cheaper and nearer to a beach.

Travelling with an 11 month old we spent a great deal of time around the hotel as we did not find the beach very attractive and rather dirty. Overall we were quite pleased with our stay but one week is plenty and we were ready to move to a more exciting location.

Building: stairs with big steps that could be difficult for seniors and toddlers.

Grounds: beautifully peaceful and ordained with tropical flowers and a fountain.

Room: spacious. nice furnishings and plenty of tv channels. A few mosquitoes the first day. There are gaps between the door and the doorframe and I wonder if bugs come in. We started using the complimentary mosquito coils on the balcony afterwards and didn't have a problem. The most spotless hotel room I have ever stayed at! Beds were comfy and the crib was extra soft. Too soft for a young infant but fine for us. Underneath the mattress was a very thin foam that could be used.

Food: good quality and reasonable portions if not slightly small compared to North America - we tried the whole indonesian part of the menu and wished there were more options! Favourite breakfast was the country breakfast. Most breakfasts are $4.50-5.00 . Supper is about $7-9 plus the common 21% service + tax. Room service was no extra charge and speedy (about 8-10 min). Comfy high chair for baby.

Pool: very clean and never too crowded.

Location: unable to take walks with the baby as there is too much traffic and a very narrow sidewalk. It feels dangerous crossing the street. Nothing in sanur is too far just you need to call a taxi. Hard to call a taxi back to the hotel from the beach and you would need to walk up to the main road for about 10 minutes. Definitely the biggest con to the hotel.

Staff: super friendly and helpful. Everyone knew our bAby's name and said hi when we passed. Enjoyed Rawit as our driver (personal tour for 9 hours is about $50). He was very kind to take us to uluwatu as a request even though it got us back one hour later and did not charge us extra. Very pleasant to spend the day with you Rawit!

Balinese night on Wednesday: intimate dance and music performance with just three tables. Great atmosphere. $36 a couple and includes a 30 min massage each that we did not take up.

Overall a nice low key getaway and home base but you need to make sure you get out and see bali too. The hotel driver seemed to know bali better than the other driver we had and we would go through the hotel only were we to do it again.

Thanks for a great stay!

The location of hotel is not convenient. It is far from the beach & other attractions. It is better to stay in Kuta or Legian. No restaurants/eateries nearby. No convenience stores/groceries too. You need to have a car to stay here. Weak wifi that sometimes doesn't work. What kind of hotel is this? No elevator! Even 2-star hotels have elevator. Aircon was leaking & we had to call to have it fixed. Arrogant staff. Doesn't know how to handle guests. Toiletries like soap & toilet paper sometimes are not provided. Small unimpressive pool with little garden. Hotel lobby is ordinary, has limited seats, small & has no aircon & ambience. 2 small bottles 330ml water provided free on the 1st day of stay only. No free water provided on the rest of the stay. No smoke detector inside the room. No camera in the hallway. No slippers provided in the room. Incomplete toiletries with no toothpaste provided. The only positive is the nice manager.

Dear Dom Y thank you very much for your review, and we do apologies for the inconvenience.
Restaurant and beach that only 5 minutes drive by taxi and approximately 20 minutes walk otherwise we provide free shuttle service twice a day.
The WIFI connection, it depends on how many guest are using it, if a lot of guest who use it will be a little slow. We will add more bandwidth to have better connection .
Regarding the elevator, we are trying to propose the capsule elevator to management on next year budget .
We have checked AC regularly to minimize AC problem, and we have respond very fast to all problem issue . a complimentary water is upon arrival, the rest of the day will be charge , this service has been mentioned on guest directory . We put camera CCTV at restaurant, lobby and parking area.
We did the same set up toiletries include soap, shampoo and tissue for all RBBC property in Bali without slipper as we would like to minimize the maintenance fee for the member.
Thank you again for sharing your feedback so that we may improve our services for all guests and ensure the highest level of comfort.
We look forward to welcome you back to Royal Bali Beach Club Sanur again in the future.

Best regards,

I stayed here for 4D/3N. Because I am a solo traveller I kind of expected that they'll be giving me a small room. Lo and behold, the room I got was really big. The bed was so comfy with lots of pillows. They did not have a safety deposit box inside the room, but they have it at the reception. They will be assigning you one box whose key you have to keep. The staff were very courteous and accommodating of my requests and inquiries. Whenever I went out, they would call BlueBird Taxi for me. I tried eating at their restaurant and it was ok, though not the type that I'd be craving for. I also tried their Balinese massage and it was good. I felt so relaxed after my session. I even got the chance to talk to their membership manager who turns out to have lived in the Philippines as well. I availed of their tour packages and was even given a discount. I was able to go on a tour to Tanah Lot and some parts of Uluwatu for only 480,000 IDR. They also assisted me with my transfer to another hotel for a fee almost similar to that of a taxi.

I loved this little resort once inside and away from the busy road. Well maintained with attention to detail, the staff were wonderful, friendly and genuine. The rooms are adequate and certainly VERY clean. One downside was the fact that the airconditioners are positioned at the back where the second bedroom is, making the night ambient noise shocking (earplugs helped....but didn't solve the problem).

Room Tip: If you are a pool dweller ask for a pool side ground floor room. You MAY pay more but its really wor...
