We are at the end of a 3 week stay in a garden wing room . We have been many times but always in the garden wing near the pool .We come for a relaxing holiday and are happy that the hotel has been quiet .the gardens are well kept and there is plenty of space so you aren't sat too near other guests. We love the swimming pool but it is now badly in need of redoing .The outside woodwork needs painting - some have been done but not all the rooms . The room itself is a good size , clean and with a comfortable bed but the bathroom badly needs new fixtures. The staff are friendly and helpful. We will probably return next year and hope to see some improvements As it is it is not very appealing to first time guests

Room Tip: Garden area

We stayed there 3 nights in May,but shouldnt stay longer. The hotel is big and empty, very old
and the rooms look tired. It was the only place in Bali and Lombok where the room was very humid and unpleasant.I dont know,if the other rooms were also humid or only ours, but the carpets on floor keep humilty and as the sun never shines in that room, nothing dries it.The aircon
just made the room more cold and then it was cold and humid, worse.Bathroom very humid too, after using the towels never dried, good that they replaced every day.But you have to use it
more than once anyway.Bad ventilation in bathroom, bad smell. The beds were comfortable
and the room was big enough. We had sea wing,so from balcony we had nice view.
Except the rooms, gardens and pool were really nice. The beach next to the hotel has the biggest sand area in Sanur.Beds and towels available. But I couldnt swim in the morning because of the waves and afternoon later the water went away, only mud remained. Some carbidge at beach like elsewhere, mostly.Breakfast was nothing special, but after being in 4 other hotels in Bali and Lombok, would say that it was not special anywhere. You could choice between Indonesian food or omelettes etc.2 options of fresh juice, but every morning just water melon and melon. Some good fruits.Coffee not good.Good croissants.
People were friendly. But nowhere else in Bali they wanted to copy my creditcard than in this hotel,to secure if I spend something.I refused,as it is against law,to copy anybodys card.If I use something,I pay,They must trust their clients. It never happened elsewhere. Also, when I asked if we could let a luggage there in luggage store, they wanted to charge us 75 US dollars
for some days! What a price!Of course,we didnt use that service.
Few options near to eat,but only last evening we discovered a very good warung Sunrise just
left from the hotel, short walk. There I got the best grilled tuna steak. It is directly at sea,so you can enjoy nice views and good service.
Would I recommend Inna Grand? No,I dont.If I knew that its so humid,I never booked it.The price was not as good for that I paid.Better option was Parigata resort where we stayed after, very central.not humid, nice service etc.

Room Tip: I dont know which rooms are less humid, must try.Sea view are nicer.

We stayed here 3 nights for a long weekend ,end of May. We stayed in the garden wing next to the small pool . The grounds are beautiful and the staff very helpful but I must say the rooms are very tired, mainly the bathrooms . There was no hot water and the air-con was nonexistent . As we were only there for 3 days and the room was reasonably priced we chose not to complain . The safe in the room is not fixed down so I would suggest you get a safety deposit box. I would think this would be 3 star at best. If you are looking for luxury I suggest you look else ware .

Room Tip: Defiantly ask for a renovated room

I have known this grand old hotel for over 30 years now having grown up in Jakarta, but while it is still a very impressive place ( the tallest on Bali ) it has become very ragged around the edges. The entire top floor of the main tower is shutdown due to a leaking roof , manny of the quaint garden bungalows are also shut due to imminent collapse , and there is complete lack of any management presence. The staff, of which there are plenty just seem to hang around waiting for something to happen, I had to constantly go and interrupt them to get served even when we were the only customers, the menu in the bar is a weird mish mash of different international cuisines, but that is just about the only place to eat in the hotel. Given the number of well run boutique hotels situated 100 metres down the beach from here, I am surprised that anyone stays here at all .
BUT
We were only paying £35 per night for the room including breakfast so with that in mind remember YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

Room Tip: Ask for a garden wing room to be closer to the pool and beach.

This hotel has its faults but is generally good value. Food and drinks are cheap by Aust standards and service is excellent. In fact, there are almost too many staff to assist. Rooms are a little tired but kept very clean, but showers are frequently luke warm. Views from balcony are excellent but there is nothing to sit on. Also, the bars need more variety of beers having only Bintang (heaps) and Heineken (few) and nothing else. Terrific beach and pools. All staff are cheerful, friendly and polite.

Room Tip: Rooms in the tower block, the higher up the better, have the best views.

I've been travel around and stay in lots of places but this hotel is really bad, the room is so ugly need a repair, breakfast is barely ok, the receptionist said that extra breakfast will be charge Rp 115.000 . person, I'm staying with my parents and my brothers family, so we have 2 extra person for breakfast when we came for breakfast in the morning there is a man (tall guy) that ask for 200.000 and pay direct to him (we thought if we put for extra deposit, they can just charge to the room) but then the money he put it on his pocket, THAT'S TERRIBLE, he didn't say anything at all after we complaint, also when we ask the receptionist to help us call the bluebird taxi she said "sorry we can't call the taxi for you, you have to call it by your self"! that's terrible, it's so dissapointed!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Never book to this hotel for your own good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we stayed here for a month in one of the garden wing blocks ,which is away from the main hotel .we choose this hotel because of its location ,with its beautiful maintained gardens ,wonderful beach front .the staff were polite ,helpful and attentive.food was very good in the 1668 restaurant in the grounds near the tirta pool .hotel rate is also great value. the only problem is the rooms are tired and needs a complete revamp .......but in such a fabulous location the amount of time you spend in your room is minimal and is not detrimental to you stay .
