Gorgeous resort! sprawling lawns and lovely Balinese sculptures scattered around. Wonderful pools. We stayed at the club rooms and it is well worth the extra. They have their own pool section. No kids. Though the pool at the club area doesn't have a poolside bar. The main pool at this resort has a bar that is immersed in the pool. You could sit on a stool in the water and enjoy your drink at the bar counter. My husband and I thought this was very cool.
The breakfast spread is really nice. A nice lady asked us if we wanted to join the Balinese dinner and dance event and we readily signed up. Fantastic food at the dinner event. They have dancers and traditional drummers. We did feel that fireworks would have been the perfect ending to the event, but unfortunately that didn't happen.
This resort is a great way to enjoy Bali. Great place, would recommend highly.

We booked two club rooms and Club Santrian Room is below expectation cost us US 160 per night with breakfast. Room is spacious with LCD TV so the bathroom is old. The private pool is small and clamp. Always lack of pool bed. Sea walker is not available so we booked international rafting throught them. They charged us US 72 each with 20% discount. We will shock to aware that international rafting only cost US52. Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. Puri santrian do not provide shuttle service while Other hotel next door provide free shuttle bus services to kuta and Harvey mall. My two kids got rashes which we believe bed bug attacked them. we complain to the management and they even dont bother to change our room. My wife got rashes the next day too. We will never go back again.

Advertised as a friendly family operated hotel we didnt experience that. Out of the 6 hotels we stayed at this was the most difficult and time consuming hotel we booked into. Reasonably large 3 story complex with part of it under renovation which we were not told when we booked. Rooms are ok, clean and tidy, small bath room shower over the bath typical of an average hotel. Suggest ground floor room as there are no sea views from any rooms and you dont want to be on the 3rd floor like we were when it is hot or raining - there are a lot of stairs. You are required to use plastic cards and a sign in and out system for towels for the swimming pool, if you arent at the pool early there are no sun chairs left. Breakfast is ok but you are told they close at 10 .30am we found if you werent there by 9.30am there wasnt much left and they start taking every thing away around 10am. The standard spa rates are expensive, there were some special deals if you went as couples that were reasonably priced, the spa is very nice and a great massage. Internet room was good, just 2 pc's - free useage, suggested 10 minutes max useage when others waiting, this worked well. I dont think this hotel offered value for money but more disappointing was the service, service was not as good as any where else we stayed in Bali.

Room Tip: Ground floor only

Perhaps it was that we came in from the Chedi Club in Ubud, the most amazing hotel we have ever enjoyed, but Puri Santrian was a big disappointment to us.

It is definitely not a bad hotel, it is just not special. The floor plan looks very promising, and having booked the Santrian Club room we figured we'd be fine. The plan doesn't clearly show that actual situation: that is, that all buildings have 3 storeys, including the Santrian Club. Basically, it is a mass hotel, densely built casting shadow over most of the pool area and even the beach (east coast, so by mid afternoon no sun left on entire beach).

Others have written about the lack of available pool beds, and although the hotel was only 70% full when we arrived, it was almost impossible to find a decent spot in the sun. Not even at the 'private pool' of the Santrian Club - which is nothing like a private pool at all.

On the bright side: friendly staff, spacious and really fine room at the Santrian Club... But we decided to relocate hours after arriving, and checked out the following morning to move on to The Legian at Seminyak. More expensive alright, but in a totally different class if it comes to value for money.

I went with a group of 18 experienced travelers and everyone was satisfied with our four night stay here. The rooms were all clean, everything worked, and the service was good. The pool by our rooms was nice and our group enjoyed that quite a bit. For those that care, the rooms and grounds were very bug-free and they bombed the place with bug killer once a week. I had no problems with mosquitoes at this place.

The location is pretty good with plenty of shopping and restaurants outside the resort complex. (The Cat and Fiddle is a good Irish place across the street for when you're tired of Nasi Goreng and Soto Ayam.) The hotel breakfast was pretty good, although the western food I found was for obvious reasons, cooked more for the tastes of Australians and Kiwis rather than Americans like me, and I personally don't care for the food Down Under.

Overall I have nothing bad to say about Puri Santrian.

I was really disappointed by our stay at the Puri Santrian. We've stayed in a whole range of hotels in SE Asia, most of them much cheaper, but this was by far the worst room and worst service that we've ever had.
We got a "garden view" room, and that is the cheapest option, but it was definitely way worse than I could have imagined. It was a very basic room, which is fine, but the shower head was broken and the air conditioner did not get the room cool, which made sleeping a real problem. We also had a door that opened to the room next door. Even with it closed, it was like the people next door were in the same room sound-wise. Again, we've stayed at a lot of "basic" hotels in SE Asia where we paid a lot less, but this was by far the worst room that we have stayed in. The grounds of the hotel were all right, but there didn't seem to be sufficient room for guests around the pool and on the beach at some times (we switched to the Hyatt after the first night, and found their rooms and grounds to be much nicer).
What really was frustrating about the hotel, though, was the service. To start, it took half an hour to check in. Later, on the beach, one of the hotel staff spent about 5 minutes spraying our chairs with pesticide while we were sitting there in our bathing suits. We asked him to stop but he would not. My husband tried to get us beers, but the staff would not bring us beers on the beach, and would not allow us to purchase beers and carry them to the beach. In the middle of the night, when the lack of AC became unbearable, I went to try to see about a different room. I explained our situation to the person at the desk and asked to speak to a manager. He refused to get the manager, and then when I asked him for his name he actually covered up his name badge with his hand! Finally he got the manager, who put us in one of the cottages. The AC in that room did work, but either the fridge or the air conditioner made a super loud knocking sound about every five minutes. The next day we called the hotel to confirm that we had secured another reservation. Although I had confirmed with the manager the night before that we would not have to pay for our cancellation, this had not been communicated to the person at the front desk, and so my husband spent about 15 minutes on his phone (paying international rates) trying to make sure we wouldn't be charged.
Definitely find a different hotel if you're staying in Sanur.
