“Awesome small family friendly destination”
Reviewed 7 August 2012 via mobile

Small hotel set back from the main road, verry quiet and relaxing. The bamboo lined drive way gives way to the raised reception area and lush garden surrounds. We travelled with 2 small children and found the poolside rooms a blessing, while the children were napping we could enjoy the facilites while being close by. Great staff, clean rooms and a verry boutique hotel experience without the huge price tag. We will be back again. Awesome. The Moore family.

We stayed at the Tamukami for three nights at the end of a three-week trip to Bali and Lombok. We have stayed in a number of larger hotels in Sanur on previous trips, but were looking this time for something a little more intimate but at a reasonable price.

The Tamukami is well located on what I'd consider to be the best stretch of Danau Tamblingan (in terms of proximity to the nicest eating places). Only 20 rooms in the older-style complex, all facing towards a lovely deep pool (there is also a small pool for young children adjacent). The gardens are stunning and there are even a couple of singing birds in cages near the restaurant which were gorgeous.

We booked 2 x bungalow suites for our family of five, and found them to be very spacious and clean although the beds were very hard. (I'd give the Tamukami a 4-star rating if the mattresses were better). Bathrooms ok if a bit cramped. Free wifi which was always reliable. Breakfast - simple but adequate. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant at any other times but it was quite popular in the evenings and there is live entertainment most nights.

The hotel appears to be popular with European visitors, particularly Dutch, and from talking with other guests, many are repeat customers.

All in all, a nice little place - an oasis of sorts. Good value, good location - but get some new mattresses!

we spent 4 nights here with our family in two huge first floor rooms. lovely view out to swimming pool-which was generally empty as people tended to go off for the day-we had lovely cushioned loungers to sunbathe on-lots of restaurants a walk away so no taxis needed-decent tv with lots of channels-husband pleased as could watch The Open golf(!)-better still if there was a dvd player so kids could be entertained later in the evening-great value for money.

We spent 10 days with our family in this very friendly hotel. The reception was so warm. It's like coming home. De staff shows a high service level as one happy family. Always helpful and gives the attention in a friendly Balnese way. The rooms are large with a terrace or a balcony. The restaurant is very good with a choose of all kind of local and international meals. Try the fresh fruitjouces. Healthy and very tasteful. Don't forget the relaxing massage. Th hotel is nearby the beach (Anjani Restaurant). We enjoyed our stay very much and will come back soon.

Room Tip: The rooms are large with a terrace or a balcony. All near by the nice pool.

Stayed here in a bungalow suite for five nights. Location is pretty good, shops and restaurants close by. The room is quite large and the bed is huge, it's a bit hard but that's the way I like it :-) Tea and coffee making facilities in room. There was a minibar, which is totally useless in 2-star hotel, I would have preferred an empty fridge. Bathroom was clean enough. In-room wifi was ok.

The pool is very nice and the surroundings are nicely landscaped. Breakfast is pretty good, but we didn't stay here for dinner.

Overall pretty good, maybe a bit on the expensive side for what you get. Worth going if you get a good deal.

I spent one night before and two nights after a diving trip to Komodo at the Tamukami this month.
All rooms are around the very nice swimming pool. One side and end have single storey bungalows, one side two storey rooms and the other end, the restaurant.
On the first stay I was on the ground floor of the two storey block, on the second stay on the upper. The rooms are the same large size, deep front to back, with a large bathroom. The ground floor had a window at the front onto the pool/path area as was the patio with 2 chairs and a table. With the lush vegetation, it made the room quite dark and you had to close the curtains for any privacy. I much preferred the upper room. It is not overlooked and is above the plants so is light and bright and private with the curtains open. The balcony is also brighter and more private. Yes you do have to go up a flight of stairs to the room but when you arrive and depart the willing staff are there to help with luggage.
The rooms have flat screen TV with large selection of cable channels including news, sport and movies. WiFi worked well in the rooms, by the pool and in the restaurant.
I liked the rooms, spacious, good storage, large bathroom and very clean. The whole property is quiet in spite of being in quite a busy area.
The restaurant is good, freshly cooked breakfast and good quality and value lunches and dinners. I liked their seafood salad for lunch and they have changing 3 or 4 course set dinners which were very good in terms of quality and value.
The pool has a reasonable number of loungers, there were always some free when I was there, althought not enough if all guests were to be at the pool at the same time which is unlikely to happen.
The pool has two deep circular ends joined with a shallower saddle. This central part overflows into a shallow children's pool. This whole area is very pretty with plants, flowers and statues.
The hotel is down a short lane off the small main road running through Sanur beach. It's on the opposite side to the beach. You have to walk through other hotel properties on the beach side if you want to go to the beach. There are many shops, restaurants, cares and bars nearby.
I would stay there again, and would stay at the Tamukami in preference to the Parigata which I also stayed at during this trip.
It's not a five star hotel but is very nice and has the charm of a smaller hotel.

Room Tip: Go for an upper room for a lighter more private room

We stayed in the family suite for 6 nights recently. It was 2 rooms joined together with plenty of space for us all. Air conditioning worked well as did wi-fi.
Beautiful grounds and pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable and really big
In a really good central position
