This Hotel is not 5 star and yes is in need of an upgrade but the location is 5 star, the staff are friendly and will do anything for you, the rooms are clean and tidy, lets face it you are only sleeping there, we were a group of 9 the majority enjoyed the hotel and would go back, people will always find the negatives, if you are looking for a small hotel with no frills adequate accommodation in a fantastic spot this maybe for you. If you are looking for 5 star stay clear its not for you

This was our second stay at the Besakih. Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night this time. Everything was so much better this time that I wish we had stayed longer. We got a much nicer room than our first stay even though it was still a 'standard' room. Besakih is in the perfect position for everything and in my opinion has the best beachfront. All the staff were very friendly and the gardens are lovely. During both our visits there were never any spare pool loungers...lucky we don't go to sit around the pool! Even the beach loungers were full this time. Everyone tends to leave the pool/beach area late afternoon which is when we were able to have it all to ourselves. There are loads of restaurants within walking distance both outside the gate and along the beachfront. Not a party hotel...nice and peaceful. All ages but predominantly 50/60 age group while we were there both times. Breakfast was adequate and the service good.

Room Tip: We like the rooms nearer the back of the hotel which look like little cottages. One room upstairs a...

Great location (but they all are along this strip) so this hotel is not special in that sense. Plenty to chose from - so chose wisely read reviews do homework it will pay in the end. Anyway yes they were more than welcoming great cust.service etc etc BUT a place that accommodates as many as they do in great surroundings and wonderful staff, the pool area seats a tenth of the patrons. Set your alarm for 5.20am to place your towel on a seat by the pool. Great place very well priced but as i said see what else is available in the same location.

In our mid 50s, we were for the most part the youngest of the guests. Not that this was a problem but to be honest the rooms seem to older than the guests and have lost the battle with the ravages of time. We stayed here a year ago and it seems they have done nothing to improve the rooms. They still haven't fixed the outdoor spa. The bathrooms in particular need a lot of work to bring them back to a reasonable standard. And what's with the gargantuan pedestal the toilet sits on? If you come to grief with some of the local food and need some quality time there if you don't have legs like a basketballer you end up dangling them in mid air. And then the circulation stops. Not good.

On the plus side the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was tasty. The location is good, but so is any hotel along the strip.

So, happy retirement and time for me to look elsewhere.

Having spent 3 nights at the Mercure last week, I was keen to return but it was full. During my Mercure stay, I'd gone for a walk along the beach path and thought the Besakih looked quite nice from the beach and it certainly looked OK on the website..so this morning I decided to make a booking prior to my return to Sanur and I'm so glad I only booked one night! No complaints to make about the staff, but the room is awful for the price! If you like your paint peeling from the walls and ceilings and the faint smell of sewage whenever you flush the toilet, then you won't mind parting with your $100..If you like watching TV, then the old 14" has poor reception (thankfully, I don't care too much for TV)...I'm yet to sleep in the bed, but it doesn't feel too comfy..Aircon and fridge work great...Overall, the place is tired and rundown and if I'd only paid $30 I'd not be complaining....but it's an absolute joke at $100!

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere!

From the moment you arrive you will we looked after until the day you leave, Besakih resort location is perfect right on sanur beach. You are ideally close to all cafes and shopping.I travelled with my 2 nieces for 10 days . I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff, all staff at Besakih are friendly and happy, but I must praise agung (pool bar) for making our time around the pool so wonderful. The reception staff were also so helpful to me for everything. They helped me with making phone calls ,organising transport, helping with my money conversion .Thankyou to everyone at besaki for making our holiday such a wonderful time. Will be back soon !

we were part of a group of 9 people who stayed here for 5 nights in November last year. the best feature of the hotel is its beachside location and its also near shops and restaurants. On the down side there are no toiletries or bottled water provided. also the breakfast buffet was very limited - fruit, pancakes, juice and pasteries. you could order eggs and baconbut there was no menu so after a few days we got more creative ordering toasted croisants for example. regulars bought their own cereal. the whole place has a run down feel. i think its over priced

Room Tip: we had a bungalow which was roomy
