“My first stay at Sanur Beach Hotel”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

As a newly diagnosed coelic, overseas travel can be quite daunting especially with a strong language barrier. What a relief a hotel which on request baked fresh gluten free bread and provided gluten free pasta and pizza. The staff were very friendly and understanding, service which you do not always find in Australia let alone Bali. A very happy customer!

My family and I stayed here in March 2010. We booked this hotel as we thought it would cater for our son who is in a wheelchair. We booked two adjoining rooms but this was not to be. We ended up with two rooms next to each other. They advised us that one of the rooms was a disabled room but as knowing bali as I do today this just meant a rail on the wall. We made it work for us so that was ok. The rooms were a little run down but still clean and tidy. The buffet breakfast was really good. The pools were awesome. The service was great. We just found that it was too far away from the main markets and central Sanur. This was hard with our Son as it took 45 mins to walk there. Other than it being too far away it was a nice holiday.

Dear Mrs. Courtnee,

Thank you for staying at our resort and your recent feedback. From our resort there is a FREE shuttle bus which is bringing our guests every 20 minutes to and from Hardys supermarket and local mall in the heart of Sanur. As well a shuttle bus service one way daily, which drops off the guests in Kuta beach. Another option is to take the bikes from the Prama Sanur Beach and to bike into to town along the Boardwalk which runs along the scenic beach of Sanur. Please do not hesitate us in person should you plan to return to Bali next. Wishing you a good day. stefan.mueller@aerowisatahotels.com

We stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and again last week, on our first visit we were happy with the resort but unfortunately this time we were very disappointed. While the location and setting were still ideal, it appears that management have let things slip and the hotel is looking a little tired and in need of maintenance.
We stayed in a similar room to the one we stayed in last time but the room had a few problems, the air conditioner was not very cold, the only power point for us to use was broken, the shower was going from very hot to cold all the time and the bar fridge was not cold. The maintenance staff were very quick to respond to fix the problems, the air conditioner was able to drop a few degrees but was still not that cold. We were told that the fridge was a standard cooler that was in most of the rooms. This cooler took 2 days to cool down any drinks. We were provided with a power board to replace the broken power point.
The pool although in a lovely setting and with crystal clear blue water is in need of some maintenance, there is a lot of black algae in the grout on the walls around the pool and around the pool lights. There is also green algae at the base of the walls and many other areas of the pool. All that would be required is for the walls to be brushed and the algae vacuumed but this is an example of where maintenance is lacking.
While sitting around the pool enjoying the sun we waited over an hour for any staff to come by to take our order for drinks or food. After waiting so long I decided to go to the bar to ask for a menu otherwise who knows how long we would have sat there. The pool area staff need to be more proactive in attending to guests and asking if they wanted drinks, etc. I'm not sure if this is a sign of the staff being manged poorly or whether the staff need to be retrained.
Walking around the resort we noticed that the carpets in the hall ways were stained and musty smelling and the tiled walk ways were cracked and chipped. The balustrades in the stair well were very loose in some sections.
It is sad to think that because of poor maintenance this hotel has started to look tired, because it is in a lovely part of Sanur.
On the positive side our bed was very comfortable and the staff servicing our room each day were very efficient and polite as were the breakfast staff. The breakfast menu was lovely very many choices. We also noticed they are building a new Bamboo Bar which will be lovely when finished.
Unfortunately we won't be returning to this hotel until there have been some upgrades and some refurbishments to the rooms as it is in desperate need for an upgrade.

Room Tip: If you want a good view of the ocean book an ocean view room on the 3rd or 4th floor.

Dear Mrs. Lesley H,

Thank you for staying with us and the constructive comments you have made. In regards to general maintenance what you are pointed out it is all on our “to do list”. Whereby we have already started with upgrading some of our 24 suites. By the end of this summer we will renovate 50 deluxe garden rooms completely and start to repaint the façade of the resort. As for the temperature of your room we have changed the entire cooling towers who are generating the cold water, however piping and ducting leading to 400 plus rooms is being addressed and rectified as we speak. With the rebranding of our resort there will be as well many positive changes to come and with improved service quality in mind we believe we can make the necessary changes to have got a better product available in the near future, providing the Authentic Indonesian Hospitality. We will be staying in contact with you to keep you informed about the upgrades we are working on. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly in the future should you plan to visit Bali again. stefan.mueller@aerowisatahotels.com

You can't beat that beautiful sea breeze which you get EVERYWHERE in this resort. The grounds are beautiful just to walk around with their own ducks who live on the property and have their own pond.
Breakfast is awesome with the standard selection of foods but beautiful presented and fresh. The best part is the consuming of the breakfast in the bamboo structure, nestled between the two pools and just a stone's throw from the beach. That breeze ever present.
For other meals they have 3 restaurants but our favourite is their Basilica Italian Restaurant. Food is just beautiful and reasonably priced. There are many other local restaurants along the walkway at the back of the resort which goes the full length of Sanur Beach. This walkway provides a fabulous walking, running or cycling path and you have full access to all the resorts and restaurants all the way along. There are also many markets and places to have great massages along this path too. Speaking of exercise, their Tennis Courts are A Grade clay courts which you need to book a couple of days in advance.
Aroma Spa provides a wonderful massage as well, complete with reflexology, body exfoliation and rehydration, spa and massage.
If you like to sit on a beach chair on the beach, this place is for you with the staff only a wave away from getting anything you would like to eat or drink. The beach chairs are large, comfortable and plentiful.
Would definitely go back - and soon.

Room Tip: Deluxe double room was perfect for our needs however the ocean view rooms are just stunning and reas...

We have stayed at this hotel before and loved it then too. The buffet breakfast is first class...lots of choice with smiling, helpful, serving staff. We stayed in the building overlooking the pool and the ocean beyond. It was a lovely, clean room with lots of Balinese touches and the view from our balcony was superb. The grounds are huge and well kept, so be sure to take time to explore. We even found a flock of ducks near the tennis courts. We found all the staff very helpful, pleasant and happy to do whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable. It is right on the ocean front, and there is a great cobblestone sea-walk that goes for about 5 km. Lots to see...be sure to take your camera. Sunrise is around 6:30 and pictures from the sea-walk are FANTASTIC! The town of Sanur was very nice and an easy walk from the hotel. All in all a great location. The only REALLY annoying part of the whole experience was the practice of many of the guests to take their towels down to the pool/beach area and save all the best chairs (that is the ones with umbrellas). Then they go to breakfast/shopping/ walking...who knows, but they don't return for several hours. Apparently, there is a policy that if there is no sign of any activity at the chair for 1hour, the the staff will remove the towel and make the chair available for someone else...well, this just doesn't happen. Oh well, I guess nothing is ever perfect! I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: The rooms in the building that face the beach have beautiful views, but are a bit nosier. Choose a...

we spent almost one months in the hotel, it was great, there were practically nothing unlikely. The staff perfect, the restaurants and the pools are great, the room big and clean. Only thing I didn't understand: why the upper two floors are non-smoking when the smoke flies up? The garden big and pretty, we were absolutely satisfied.
