We had a lovely time at the Prama. There have been negative comments on here about the worn out bathrooms and yes our bathroom was in need of a revamp but it was really clean and fully functional and I can overlook a few chips on the bath and a bit of grouting needed as everything else about the hotel was so good. The staff were lovely. The rooms were kept really clean and the room cleaners were great and left little sweets and kept our room beautifully for us. The pools were good and lots of beds. The breakfast was really good and you could see into the kitchens which were spotless. The omelette makers did a great job tossing the pans in the air and creating lovely omelettes to order. The location was good too, there were restaurants in the hotel, on the beach path (although I didn't particularly like those ones) plenty within walking distance on the main road or you could take the free hotel shuttle bus that runs every 20 mins to Hardys where there are more restaurants and more shops. In my opinion the best restaurants were 3 monkeys near Hardys, or the one near our hotel on the main road that was adjoined to the hotel next door (forgotten its name) Bali was cheap to eat out too, if you ate in one if the cheaper places it was about usd 10 per head incl drinks. Most expensive meal we had was less than usd 20 each. Hotel had a mixed clientele, people from all over world, mainly Aussies, French, and Dutch when we were there but many others including a few of us Brits. This made a nice mix though. Mainly couples and families, not really a suitable resort for party animals but lovely for people who want to relax, eat, shop and sightsee.

I am reluctant to give this hotel too good a review as I don't want too many people to go there. In reality it is very good and great value for money.
Pros:
Great breakfasts.
Location. The pools and breakfast restaurant overlook the beach.
Location 2. Heaps and heaps of restaurants within walking distance.
Location 3. The path that runs up the coast is great for walking and using with hire bikes (from just outside the front gate)
Staff. All very polite and helpful
Cons:
Wifi in room fairly average but fine in common areas. But hey you're on holiday.
In house dining and drinking is very expensive, especially when the 21% tax is added.

The staff were so friendly and very helpful. Anna the Front Office Manager was always checking if there was anything that I needed. Ketut, in the Salon, was fantastic, thanks so much! And Siwi, the Office Manager, was also very helpful and friendly. I loved this spot, right on the beach and Sanur also a lovely quieter spot still with great restaurants and shopping. This was my first holiday in a long time by myself - no children - and I am really looking forward to going back with children! Great food, great location, great bar, thank you Prama Sanur Beach Bali.

We have just left the Prama after 3 nights. It is our first time in Sanur and won't be the last.
we had a deluxe sea view room which was very comfortable.
The service was great with the usual bali friendliness.
The bamboo bar is great as is the Italian Restaurant. if I could make 1 comment it is the beer is not cold enough at the bamboo bar. There is no sense bringing me a beer already opened when it is warm. A bit of planning or common sense would ensure cold beer is available from the start of the day
Aussies that go to Bali soon learn about the places with cold beer.
The location is great and we would definitely stay again

We dined here twice in the last few days. The Italian inspired meals are awesome and reasonably priced. The service however is tardy, non attentive and disappointing. Splitting a bill onto two cards is an issue, paying the accountant like guy at the cashier is an issu, he only grunts, doesn't enquirer about your meal and couldn't be more cold. All of which tarnishes the experience. The tax service mark up is 21% additional. This plays needs a maître de to oversee and relate to the patrons I.e the people dining. reward the good, punish the bad: verdict - just ok

In general I was satisfied with my stay at the hotel. The rooms are a bit dated, but not a big problem. I stayed in two different rooms during my stay, the first one at ground floor with view to the garden (and the ducks! :), which was nice and tranquil. Later I stayed in a slight smaller/cheaper room with sea view, if staying there again I would definitely go for the latter. My only real complaint is about the breakfast: 1) Although it had a good selection of food (and you could get omelets/eggs as you want), I was very disappointed about the fruit juice they serve there. Some of them reminded me more about some weird chemical cocktail with unknown ingredients. This has been much better in other hotels I've visited in Indonesia, and considering all the tropical fruits available in that country they can do better. 2) The breakfast restaurant appeared to be seriously understaffed (or maybe the problem is organization of the staff), it was difficult to find an empty table (making them ready after previous guests took too long time), and almost every day I ended up taking one that was cleaned but had to bring knife, coffee cup, etc. from other places (it is possible that they are supposed to server coffee at the table, but if so that did not work very well due to lack of staff). Also, some of the most popular fresh fruits (for example, melons etc.) was not properly refilled so often I had to wait for that. Breakfast was included in my rate when I stayed in the first room, however for the second one it was not and as it was also very expensive I rather ate at one of the cheap beach cafes/restaurants. So the conclusion is that I might well stay at the hotel again, but if breakfast not included in rate (or could be avoided) I rather have it in one of the cafes.

We recently visited with our 2 children (aged 4 & 7). I imagine this could be a great place for some people, but it wasn't for us for various reasons.
POSITIVES:
- Breakfast was very good - a wide range of very nice food
- Unlike many hotels/restaurants, the restaurants on site were not that much more expensive than the local restaurants just outside the hotel entrance. However we weren't that impressed with the food and/or service any of the times we ate there so I wouldn't bother unless you want the convenience
- The gym was very well-equipped with well functioning, modern equipment
- Staff were, in general, friendly and helpful
- Our family stayed in a Suite room (with 2 extra beds for the kids) and it was lovely - very spacious with all the amenities you could want
- Room and bathroom was clean and without the musty/poor plumbing small that many Bali hotels suffer from
NEGATIVES:
- 2 pools - both were extremely cold (July) and we couldn't stay in for longer than 5 minutes without getting goosebumps (even the kids, who are far more resilient than me!). Temperature was slightly better by the end of the day but not much. Also, no pool toys/balls etc.. or interesting aspects to the pool to appeal to the kids - not a big deal but noticeable when you compare to other resorts where the kids can easily stay in the pool for 2-3 hours at a time
- Kids Club was extremely disappointing - it has been set up in such a way that they have guaranteed that kids will not go: it doesn't open at it's advertised 10am time - instead the room is locked with a sign saying "call extension x to contact kids club staff" so not only do you then have to search somewhere for a phone, but you know that if you do bother calling, the kids club will be opened in the awkward and un-enticing context of your child being the only one there. A Kids Club needs to be open and inviting and visible to guests, and then children WILL go. In addition, the hotel has the audacity to charge (by the session or the full day) for Kids Club, which is absolutely appalling for the price you are paying to stay there. I have never been to a proper resort where you have to pay for kids club, and this is likely another reason why kids don't go. I expressed my above concerns to a 'Guest Relations manager' but of course nothing happened, other than the offer to call the pool desk to get someone to go and open the kids club.

Room Tip: A suite room with additional beds for kids is great for families.
