“A Traditional Bali Resort.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2013

We moved from the Griya Sanur Hotel. We stayed 3 nights at Puri Dalem Hotel.
A Balinese Resort Hotel with natural tropical garden. We enjoyed the hotel and pool. Feel like stay in Balinese Village. So calm, peace and exotic. Hope someday we could be stay here again.

Room Tip: We recommended for the travelers who loves an exotic tradition of Bali.

We stayed for 4 nights here. It is a nice hotel with fantastic staff. Their English seems to be lacking at times but we always got what we asked for in the end. The rooms are little cottages and are quiet and clean. They were super fast at making up the rooms. Two pools which were great for lounging and wading in (you could swim if you wanted). towels delivered poolside. You could also have a manicure, pedicure, and massage by the pool. Which I did for the low cost of 150,000 Indonesian including a quite generous tip. The food in the restaurant was delicious. We ate breakfast there which was okay but the one dinner we had was amazing! Steak, salad, pumpkin soup, fancy apple crepes. There is a Indonesian populated beach just outside of the hotel- a less then 5 minute walk. It is a little dirty and busy. Instead take the free shuttle (just ask and they will drive you at anytime) to their sister hotel. it is on the other side of the beach where there is white sand and lass people. You can also use the other hotel services like the beach chairs and pools if you like. We did and it was a great way to spend a day.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter.

we stayed in the puri dalem for 2 nights. our room was really lovely and clean, the only downfall were all the mosquitos inside and no fly nets over the bed.
the staff is extremely friendly and i would highly recommend it for families.
its a place for tourists more than for backpackers and everything is very western.
the beach is only a 5 minute walk down the road and you can find all the souvenirs you need for your loved ones in all the little shops along the beach side.
the breakfast is very good! on the breakfast buffet is a selection of western and indonesian food and the staff is very helpful all the times.

After reading some of the other reviews we must have got the room with the awful bathroom, its dirty and it stinks. The bedroom is ok.The grounds at the hotel are nice.Like other reviews mentioned the pavements are really dangerous;holes and broken pavements, some of them are going down in to the sewer.

Puri Dalem is located at the side of a busy main street and is 5 minutes away from the beach. Many shops, especially 7-11 like shops are nearby. Next door lies KFC and a bit further down you get a Dunking Doughnut. There are two indoor pools on site which looks lovely. Water can be unheated so beware. The garden in the compound is nice and serene. It's a good base to explore sanur. Taxi fare from airport on 2.12.12 was 130000RP . The in house wifi is great!

I booked here online so I would have a place to stay when I first arrived in Bali. It was slightly higher in price than what I wanted but I am not sure how it compares to other hotels in the area. It was about a 5 minute walk to the beach (great sunrise) and walkable to many shops. Breakfast was included & was a good intro to Indonesian food. The hot water in my shower was hit & miss. The ceiling in my room was a bit crumbly in places & would leave little piles of dust. Staff was friendly.

2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2012

The toilet leaked to the point of half an inch of standing liquids in the bathroom. The bathroom smelled awful. The linens had suspicious stains. The folks that worked the front desk were determined to scam us on boat ticket prices from the moment we arrived. My wife and I stayed one night.

Also, the sidewalk leading to the beach is a death trap. I of good health and have walked around some pretty sketchy places, but this was one for the books. The very poorly lit (if it all) sidewalk ran perilously close to crazy traffic. There were concrete slabs over what looks to be an old open sewer. Many of the slabs were half broken and/or missing leaving a gaping hole of 1 foot to 5 feet down. Some of these holes were very hard to see over the piles of rubble and no lighting. Furthermore, the light at the intersection of the major road leading to Sanur beach was completely whacked out. I watched the indicator of when to walk for three cycles, it was exactly opposite of what it should have been. I know this is no fault of the hotel, but it needs to be mentioned.
