“Great for a relaxing no fuss holiday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 December 2012 via mobile

We stayed in cottage rooms (3). All clean and reasonably sized. Staff were very helpful and obliging, nothing too much trouble.
Breakfast bacon worst we have ever had but luhtu's coffee shop round corner had lovely breakfast for =$3AUD.
Unfortunately many Europeans commandeered the sunbeds (don't mention the war) early morning but laid back Aussie guests made up for their rudeness.
Great holiday so far, another week to go and happy overall with our choice.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks, was really great and we go again next week. Also our nice driver Ketut, stay in front of hotel, bring us to nice places on the island.
The breakfast was very nice, and the dance show also. Friendly staff on the whole hotel.

We have been to Sanur many many times and i thought going to Segara Village would be indulging just the once, it wasn't. We had no expectations of grandeur, after all, this is Bali but when you pay that much extra compared to our usual hotel (sanur beach hotel) you have the expectation that it will be far superior, It isn't!
We were there Dec 2-14, the hotel was quiet yet we paid for a bungalow where a wall was being built a mere 2 metres from our room, the builders were friendly enough asking us for smokes, but when they left for the day, inside the bungalow of the wall being built was full of people echoing how much fun they were having in the empty building in the evening. We did ask for a quiet area! Breakfast wasn't worth rushing for either, there was quite a lot of stale pastry's and unavailable dishes. The shower area in our ensuite was quite dangerous, we had to place a towel on the door to remind us not to walk into it whilst trying to get into the bathroom. Eating at the hotel is expensive (as it usually is) removal of your takeaway food is not done unless you ask and there are no bins around the facility. The staff as ever are friendly but this stopped the day you were leaving, no help with bags, umbrella's etc (it was pouring down) yet, we hadn't complained about anything. Watch out for the girls on the beach, i had a rash and was supplied with this cream from the massage, she charged me $8AUD, Hardy's sell it for 50cents as i later found out...that's ripping you off to the max!
Hardly anyone was utilising the hotel services as prices on the beach were a 1/4 of the price, reduce the price and they may get used more. It rained for 80% of the time which is ok but not when the TV either goes off or the reception is so bad you can't watch it. WIFI was unavailable 90% of the time.(Not the impression you get looking at it on the net). The grounds are beautiful and the whole complex is well shaded, including all the pools. Would i come here again...NO! in fact its put me off Bali altogether now. The Balinese appear to have no problem ripping you off when they can. I failed to see why this hotel was as expensive as it was $172AUD per night isn't exactly cheap. You can hear people moving in the room behind you and upstairs and hear every toilet flush. Sanur beach hotel was much better, free shuttle bus to town on the hour and to Kuta, Segara is the same distance away yet has nothing. Watch out for cats marking the couches outside your room, the smell lingers for a little while. ( i saw one do it to the bungalow next door)
I wish i had gone somewhere else maybe then it wouldn't have been my last trip to Bali.

Room Tip: Pay top dollar and stay at the Village 2 if you love the isolation of this hotel. Hopefully room 452...

I stayed in segara for 5 days, the staff is pretty friendly but that's all. The room was overpriced, tiles and the bathroom weren't cleaned and of poor condition. Breakfast wasn't spectacular and we had no wifi in the room. After 4 days this was fixed. I also saw a mouse running through the restaurant and when I told the staff they were just laughing later I heard from our private driver that they don't kill mice due to their Hindu religion. I will never go back to segara and won't recommend it unless you want to pay the jackpot.

This was our second trip Bali and the second stay at the Segara Village, and it remains a superb hotel in a quiet and scenic part of the island. The staff are excellent and ever helpful the facilities are first class and well run. This is not a european Hilton or Sheraton and it has no pretentions to be like them, it simply delivers excellent value for money with in depth rest and relaxation as a by product the rooms are clean and well air conditioned, The design of the grounds and pools means you can select the ambience that suits you in the knowledge that your room is both private and wel maintained and close at hand for that afternoon siesta! We shall return to Bali and are hotel will be the Segara Village yes it offers good facilities and the proverbial value for money, but there is something special here that defies description, try ist and see!!

Room Tip: if you need quiet ask!

The spa was great! it was a bit strange the green designs on the inside but the treatments were excelent!

The food at the restaurant was amazing and it was really interesting things, not the normal tourist stuff.

All in all i had a great time!

Room Tip: one that is close to the pool!

We were sadly placed at the Segara Village Hotel on our last leg of our honeymoon. Once we arrived at the hotel they showed us to our room which had ants crawling around, the bed linens were stained, the bathroom smelled and the wifi that was promised couldnt be accessed from inside the room. After several hours of complaining we finally spoke to the manager who gave us a different room which he called an upgrade although the only difference was a bathtub instead of just a shower. We were very disappointed to say the least. We told the manager and the staff that we would be seeking accommodations elsewhere. They told us that we'd have to pay for 3 nights as a cancellation fee. So instead of losing all that money we stayed 2 nights and moved for the remainder of our trip. Since returning home we've requested a refund for the nights unused and the hotel refuses to give us this. My husband and I ended up having a horrible honeymoon because of the Segara Village. We would never recommend it to anyone.
