Please note that this is a review for two of the more modestly priced rooms (numbers 108 and 111). I realize that the more expensive rooms are more recently renovated and therefore may be better. There seem to be two standards in this hotel, and this may explain the very contradictory reviews.

Let me start with the positive: The garden is gorgeous and well tended. Very convenient 24/7 free internet access everywhere in the hotel. The lady that runs the restaurant and her son will greet you with a refreshing juice when you arrive. Young coconut served free on my porch was greatly appreciated. All the staff were polite, discrete and friendly. A nice fish pond. There is a supermarket literally next door, and an ATM at the corner with Jl Danau Tamblingan (where you will find all the great restaurants and bars) which still has cash when all the ATMs at Hardy's have run out.

And now the negative: Standard rooms are definitely not good value. Both rooms I stayed in were very dark. The bathrooms are very old and tatty, and not very clean (rust, insects, dead and alive, and gecko feces everywhere). The towels and sheets are old and stained. The bathroom amenities did not look enticing enough to use (the shower gel even had a dead insect in it). No safe or fridge in the room. The first room I stayed in (108) had cockroaches in the bathroom, most of the lights didn't work, and the bath tub and toilet were clogged. So I requested to change rooms (at 2am in the morning!), which, to their credit, happened immediately, and then settled in n. 111 which was considerably better. Be prepared to make friends with lots of geckos.
The sun-bed mattresses were old and torn. The hotel does not offer transportation (I asked them for airport transport when I made the booking but never received a confirmation so I just used the airport taxi) but they can call you a taxi which comes almost immediately. The restaurant is nothing special (in fact, when I ordered the american breakfast at 10am it was obvious that the egg and bacon were cooked earlier in the morning), but everything is very well priced.
Also, the hotel is close to a busy street and some clubs that play really loud music at night, but this can be either negative or positive depending on how you look at it and what you are looking for.

Stayed there one night before catching a boat to Nusa Lembongan. Receptionist said he couldn't provide any help when asking assistance to book boat tickets. Room was very old, paint was falling from the wall and bad smell in the room. Bed sheets and towels with stains. The rooms amenities had already been used (shampoo, soap)..
You can hear the planes passing and the motorbilkes from the street.
Positive point: nice garden set up and pool area
Definitely not worth the price I paid for 1 night (35 euros).

This is a nice little hotel located in Sanur and about 2 minute walk to bars, shops and 5 mins to the beach. I stayed here for 7 nights in November just before peak season. The first night we arrived they couldn't locate our booking so they placed us in the new suite room. It was gorgeous. We moved to another room the next night after we sorted the confusion and although this room was nice it was not nearly as nice as the suite room. If your budget allows Id highly recommend the suite room.
Breakfast is included in the room rate but be warned it's nothing spectacular and after 7 days you're bound to be fed up. I found the nearby beach to be dirty but there's a lovely pool in the hotel so a trip to the beach isn't necessary. If you do fancy a beach excursion Nusa Dua beach is lovely.
There is free transport from the hotel to anywhere within Sanur which is very handy. Also they can arrange car hire for the day if you want to go anywhere.
All in all we had a nice stay, the hotel was clean (except for the odd gecko), staff were lovely and there were no major problems.

An excellent stay in Sanur, right in the middle of all the buzz. It sits on the inner side of a rather busy road, so it's minutes from convenience, yet tranquil at the same time. Just love the fact that it's close to a lot of dive shops since diving was my only objective during my last trip to Bali. Great local food when you turn to the left of the driveway (try the first Padang restaurant that you come across from the hotel), and the more touristy shops (if you're into shopping) to the right of the driveway.

Mas Kumis (our reception) was very hospitable. Sincerely nice fella...not short of recommendations.

Saw in the brochure that there's a spa/massage place within the hotel, and it's a shame we didn't get to try it.

If you're into the whole therapeutic water flowing sounds, request for Room 117....right next to a little koi pond.

If it all sounds too good to be true...the only downside that I could think of is the time when the restaurant lady got my order wrong...and that's about it.

Will definitely come back next year during the mola season!

i stayed Feb2009 Superior room a bit dark like a lot of bali hotels but at least it was very clean, gardens spotless, well maintained Only ate breakfast there but Leyla was very friendly and we enjoyed breakfast The reception staff Sugiano? very friendly. My plane 3 hours late in arriving( Midnight bali time ) and pick up driver still waiting. The pool whilst very clean and lovely setting, the water a bit warm for me but that is also common to Bali pools. You won't be dissappointed.disappointed, considering the price.
