Stayed 2 nights in Aug. Our group of 6 had 3 different rooms.
The first night was in Room 208 which is somewhat run-down and has not gone through any refurbishment. This room is furthest from the pool area. Would avoid this room if possible.
We were switched to Room 102 which is a Superior room and comes with 2 "outdoor" shower areas. There is a bath tub which was useful to soak our diving equipment and 2 rain shower. The hotwater in this room worked very well. Bed was firm and comfortable and were given extra pillows.
As earlier reviews suggested, the bathrooms & bath tub needed more attention. During our stay, the wifi did not work in the rooms but there is connection near the receptoin area.
The breakfast provided was a choice of American eggs/bacon or local mee/nasi goreng which tasted fine. The garden and pool area is relaxing and you dont hear the traffic from the main road, Danau Poso. I would choose this over Sindhu Mertha Guesthouse nearby which cost more and not as well managed.
There is a clinic across the road (close on Sunday) and plenty of shops in proximity.
Service staff were all very friendly and the resort is very accommodating to our request for late check out until 6pm.

Room Tip: avoid room 208

I stayed one night (superior room) at Sakun Cottages. The location is a quiet place but room I stayed is bit dark as the LED lamps are not good enough to provide enough light in the room. When I checked-in and arrived in my room I found that the room was not cleaned properly (bed was done but empty water bottles/used glasses in the room/bathroom) and towels were not provided. The services personal were friendly and fixed the issues quickly. I had one meal (also breakfast – as it was included in the room price) but the quality was poor. There are good restaurants not far from the hotel.
The pools and the garden area are well maintained but the room requires more attention similar to the garden/pool. There was no hot water in outside shower as well as inside shower.

This was the first time we have stayed in Sanur but we have been to Bali many times before. The gardens were well kept and the pool was a great relief from the heat and very large. The room was large as well but it could use a little TLC in the bathroom room. It is an older hotel but with that being said was in a good location to good quality resturants and the beach. We booked on Agoda and was very happy with Agoda. The breakfast needs to be updated a little with a little more selection. The staff were great and always helpful. Would we stay there again well maybe but I do like Candi Dasa more so I would stay there at the Bali Santi cottages.

Room Tip: All the rooms were good as there is only 22 rooms there but I would like the ones on the North side or really just any of them.

We stayed 3 nights here and that was enough.
Staff are very helpful and friendly, good location ( 5 minutes from the beach) and plenty of restaurants right outside the door
But the Rooms are very very dark, dirty and full of dust.
Bath room dated and the shower well had a mind of its own.
The grounds are beautiful, well maintained gardens with a small but lovely pool.
Breakfast was absolutely terrible, So bad that my partner didn't even bother to have it.
Overall our stay was pleasant

Sanur is a fairly low key sanitized area of Bali that is convenient if you want to get a ferry to the Gili Islands (our reason for being there). It was the least interesting part of Bali we stayed in – just stacks of upmarket hotels with security guards all along the beach. Nice restaurants and one or two decent bars.

The pool and the area surrounding it is probably the highlight. The cottages themselves are clean but have the silliest front doors I’ve ever come across. They give you a padlock to lock the double doors together when you leave but you can still push them all in so that a gap of about 1ft/30cm remains.

Ask for a room on the opposite side to the mainroad. We were woken by insanely loud motorbikes and taxis roaring past the back of our cottage at 6.30am.

As regards value for money this is a good place if you really want to stay in Sanur (nicknamed ‘Snore’ by some for its lack of activity).

Room Tip: Get a room that isn't backing on to the main road. As you walk into the resort make sure you get a room to the left. The main road is to your right.
