We had our own little cabin with a private pool and a full kitchen, and we really enjoyed the experience. The staff was very nice, breakfast was good, and the garden was beautiful. The only reproach would be the design of the bathroom with lots of tiny stones and large stones to step across and the drain being under the rocks- essentially it means that the bathroom floor was constantly wet, so no wearing socks in there.
Spent 4 nights here as our first pit stop in Bali. Beautiful room and surroundings perfect place to recover from a long haul flight. Quite remote but Ubud is a 10 minute drive away. Breakfast was adequate but room service menu was limited. We hired one of their drivers (nyoman) for excursions and he was excellent. 650k for 1 day. The jungle was alive with noises day and night and it was great to hidden away for a few days with just fields and locals for company
We arrived here late in the evening so we could not see our surroundings immediately (the transfer from the airport was included). We found ourselves on a bumpy road between the trees, wondering where the driver was taking us. Both Lestaru 1 and 2 (second hotel with identical wooded houses recently opened just a few meters down from the original place) are tucked away, far from the noise of the busy street. Unfortunately they could not offer us any food or drinks anymore as the restaurant was closed but with a little persuading our driver went out to buy us a bintang. The bungalow was a gem with a nice comfy big bed and musquito net. Lighting could much be improved, there are not even night shades so the room lacks the atmosphere it deserves. Internet was fast and they offer cable TV with many English spoken channels like HBO. Bathroom on-suite with shower and bath tub and toilet with bidet. Best smelling towels in town! Half open kitchen with cooking facilities, large fridge and water dispenser. The large pool is not suitable for small kids as is has no shallow part (about 1.60m deep). Waking up in the morning was a nice surprise as we had a stunning view over the rice fields from our porche (I believe only this room has a view like that, we stayed in Lestaru 2). If there only were a comfy sofa here to relax on, this place would be almost perfect. Breakfast is good, there are 3 options to choose from. Staff member Agung took us to Kuningan ceremony nearby and arranged Balinese clothing for us. Thank you for the nice experience! Hotel is about 15 min drive away from the south of Ubud, beware of the traffic jams into town, streets are clogged nowadays! We rented a motorbike from the hotel. For the bike, like the car to take us to our next destination, they asked more than they should have. Booking through Booking.com was a bit of a hassle as Lestaru will contact you by mail after the booking to charge an additional fee of 3.5% of the total amount for credit card payment which is not mentioned in their booking.com conditions. I have booked many hotels through this website but never experienced this before.
We spend there 3 nights. In The place there are 3 Villas and a small reception. The location is a Little remote 15min by car to the Ubud, but thtas what we were looking for. They provide 2 free shuttle service at 11 and 16 one way. Villas are superr. Thos is 1 bedroom Villa with big bed in the middle. Everything is made from the Wood. Private pool is big, there is a big terrace when you can eat your breakfast. There are 2sunbeds and big sun umrella to chiil out. There is a open kitchen, with all facilities..they also provide water dispositor which was great. Bathroom is semi open, with big bathtub and a shower. Breakast is delivered to your room. You can choose from 3 options:English, indonesian and sweet. It was tasty. They didnt have any restarant but 15minutes of walk there is a great warung with bungalows on the water where you can eat. They provided us a menu wuth some food that we can ordered, but whem when we wanted to use that the guy told us there is no cook chef. The small reception is nit so good like in big Hotels. Usuallly the guy sleeps on the floor and you must Wake him up, we wanted him to arrange for us a ticket to fast boat to senegigi but it was too much for him, he just had offers to other destination but he tried :-) generally coming there you must know that is nit hotel but some kind of private Villas with breakfast and cleaning. We spend there a great time. Pool is amazing, Villas too. The price was really low. I can highly reccomend this place!
