A Luxury Villa in Paradise

We stayed at the Villa Agung Khalia in Ubud for six nights in August and found it to be everything we ever dreamed that Bali would be. It is located about 15 minutes from the town center in a beautiful rice field. At first we had a hard time deciding on the convenience of town center or the beauty of the countryside. Boy, did we decide right. The Villa is wonderful and the staff is even more wonderful. They will make your trip to Bali even more memorable. The location actually turned out to be perfect. It is close enough to town for convenience, but set in the beautiful and peaceful countryside. The Villa provides free shuttle anytime you want to go to town up until 10:00 p.m. They even give you a phone to call them when you want to get picked up. It does not get any better or easier than that for transportation. They drive you in a nice air-conditioned van. The food is great and they will even cook things that you suggest that are not on the menu. The staff makes you feel like family. We all took a group picture when we left and some even had tears in their eyes. The Villas are huge and absolutely beautiful. The grounds are lush, a true paradise. We loved having our own private pool with nice lounge chairs, a gazebo and even float mats and pool toys if you have kids. Everything is spotless. They even wipe off the dew that may gather on the lounge cushions in the morning. The bathrooms are very nice with large walk-in showers. We also loved the convenience of on-site massage that cost only $10 an hour. They cater to all your needs. Even though you have a kitchen, they will make your coffee and bring it to your room in the morning at any time you like at no charge. If you prefer to eat in your Villa rather than the restaurant, they bring it to you. You can also hire a driver from the hotel to take you to see any site you would like to see for about $45 for a 10-hour day. The Villa truly provides anything you can possibly need. We highly recommend saying at the Villa Agung Khalia. We believe it is paradise at a bargain price for what you get. It was so much better not to be in town center where the traffic is horrible and loud. We hope to come back to Bali and the Villa Agung Khalia is the only place we will consider for our return.

Thank you Agung, Yeoman, Guru, Dayu, and Kadek for making our stay so wonderful!

Our experience staying at Villa Agung Khalia was nothing short of a heavenly experience. The setting is amazingly serene amidst the rice fields. The sounds of nature were like a symphony that serenaded us every moment of the night and day. Each member of the staff was amazingly gracious and incredibly helpful. We felt so well taken care of -- like queens!

Since I was bringing clients to the villas for the first time, it was even more of a positive experience since I wanted to make sure their needs were met and expectations exceeded. And they were all delighted and complimentary of the staff, the rooms, the furnishings, the delicious food, on and on and on.

We loved having a walking tour of the rice fields with Agung, learning about rural life and rice planting and harvesting. Guru seemed to never sleep, always positive and responsive to our every question and request -- we secretly believe he is a Breatharian who lives only on oxygen and meditation 8-) Dewi really stood out in how she was so pleased to be helpful with ironing and laundry -- so very very sweet and (again) gracious.

I sincerely hope I get to bring another (perhaps larger) group of clients to stay at Villa Agung Khalia. But also I really hope I can bring my husband and children, and perhaps even more of the family. I can just see my two sons (age 4 and 8) chasing after the ducks, swimming in the pool, playing the Balinese instruments, and more.

Room Tip: If you want a fullsize bath tub, there is only one bedroom on the main floor of Villa II and Villa I...

Can't say enough about this place! It was simply our home away from home for the 3 nights we spent there... the staff was super friendly, super helpful and the service was simply amazing!! The breakfast in the morning was a good variety and the staff was pretty flexible to accommodate our needs. Would definitely recommend this place to all. And if I am ever back to Ubud, I will definitely come here...

My 6th time at Agung Khalia and im drawn back each time by the beautiful people and its surroundings. The sound of nature has a calming effect , set amongst rice paddies and endless green lush gardens.
Each time we are welcomed as if we are family. I feel that we have become close freinds with all the staff and enjoy talking to all of them and visiting their homes, learning about their lives and the beautiful culture of Bali.
Nothing is too much. Eeach moring I wake up to the sound of ducks in the rice paddies. and go to sleep each night with the calming sound of the Geccos in the wild, very different to the city life Im acustomed too.
One day i will retire here. Hopefully soon.
Please walk through the village and go to a ceramony. just ask Guru or Agung they will organise.
You wont regret it, You will find it very interesting.

Room Tip: for couples the honey moon suit ahas view of the rice paddies

We booked out Villas I and II for a week for our Yoga retreat and it was a great decision. Everything about the place is great. The rooms are big and very comfortable and there's plenty of space throughout the complex to have time on your own if you want it. It's really quiet and private which makes it ideal when you are doing yoga or meditation practice.

The staff are first class. Guru was always available and very friendly and professional in helping us coordinate all the meals, on-site massages, shuttles into Ubud and anything else we needed. The service from all Guru's team was faultless. The food was delicious and there was always enough of whatever we wanted.

In lead up to our time at the Villa we liaised with Laura who answered all our questions about our trip. Laura was fabulous and made us feel very sure that we were in for a great holiday. Once again Laura's service was faultless. You usually expect a mistake a long the way but I can't remember Laura or Guru getting anything wrong at any stage.

We would recommend Villa Agung Khalia without hesitation!

Villa Agung Khalia was an unexpected lush jewel nestled between verdant rice paddies, just 10 minutes from Ubud. I first stayed in the Lotus Suite, a delightful private studio with its own endless edged pool and, private entrance over a pond with turtles and koi. The beautiful four poster bed was comfortable, set in a room adorned with large stone Buddhas and island paintings. I later stayed in the one of the large villas, Villa Maia, which can house a large family. The crowning jewel for me, in the elegant Villa Maia, was the immense carved-stone bathtub in a beautiful indoor/outdoor bathroom. There was wireless internet available in each of the villas. The luxuriant grounds and clear pools are beautifully maintained by a friendly and capable staff. The local Balinese staff all speak English and took every effort to ensure that I was comfortable and my needs were taken care of. I enjoyed massages, professionally given by a local Balinese massage therapist, in the secluded spa veranda. Villa Agung Khalia also has its own open air restaurant (overlooking the countryside) with a variety of delicious dishes, both Western and Eastern, available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beauty and luxurious comfort of Villa Agung Khalia is easy to recommend to others to enjoy, and to top it off, the top-notch caring staff completes the experience.

Room Tip: Each villa has its own charm, the Honey Moon Suite and Lotus villas are small and intimate, the othe...

Beautiful villa, very spacious and clean. Felt like being at home. Staff is really great, they offer great service and welcome you warmly. The distance to Ubud is not as far as I initially expected, the free transportation service is great. We can really recommend a stay here.
