Just came back from 2 weeks vacation in bali, komaneka at bisma is one of our best hotels we stayed(four seasons at Jimbaran, alila uluwatu, ayana, uma sapna). We loved rooms, breakfast, afternoon tea, free wifi, and services. Swimming pool is great as well.

Komaneka is truly an amazing place. My 17 year old daughter and I just returned from a 5 night stay. The location is like a dream, the pool is a swimmer's fantasy, the rooms are like high-end, spacious apartments in the jungle, and the 4-course breakfast with freshly made strawberry, tangerine, or orange juice with coffee or tea, is unbelievable (delivered by room service or you may eat in the restaurant). The staff is excellent and the place is immaculate. The architecture, which flows in and out with nature, is simply brilliant. The walk to town is simple (approx. 1 km), down one road through rice paddies with interesting people and simple homestays along the way. The dogs do not bother you, they just bark. It is completely safe in and around the area. They think of everything, including a large, sturdy, tropical purse to bring with you to shop, a selection of hats, and cozy nightgowns each night at bedtime along with a balinese story and memorable quote. There is a safe in the room for your valuables. The room consists of a small living room, a balcony for eating with a gorgeous view, a large old fashioned bath tub overlooking the jungle, a large shower, a separate toilet room, a huge closet area, a large sleeping area with a work desk, too. They thought of everything. I'm already trying to figure out how quickly I can get back. I met one man who comes every month and has stayed at a Komaneka 137 times. I prefer this over the one in town because it's so peaceful and you can either take their hourly shuttle service or walk. If you can't afford a pool villa, like us, you will be T'OTALLY satisfied with your accommodations. Book it NOW!

Room Tip: If you want a pool view, request an upper floor.

When we were driven up the bumpy back road to this hotel, we were a little worried. But wow, when you arrive, it was certainly worth the trip. This hotel is only about 3yrs old & is simply stunning. All the staff were great. Our room was magnificent, with the added bonus of Apple TV. There is free afternoon tea provided, along with breakfast, & both are fantastic. The pools & grounds are amazing. A shuttle service is provide to the heart of Ubub hourly. It is romantic, but also family friendly.

Room Tip: We love Nomad Cafe

Staying here was a truly special experience! From the moment that I arrived at the beautiful reception area to the time that I was bid farewell from the wonderful staff at Komaneka I really had a heart warming experience. The property is beautiful, I stayed in a one bedroom pool villa and it is the nicest accommodation that I have experienced. Every little touch is just thoughtful and caring to ensure a great stay. Everyone seems to be interested in how you are and always happy to greet you. The grounds are beautiful and the pools both private and public are stunning. The food was great and very reasonably priced for such a classy resort.
I can't wait for my next visit!

Surya Nata, who is the manager of the Komaneka at Bisma, and his amazing team are redefining what relaxing and welcoming hospitality look like and I strongly encourage you to experience it by including this remarkable property in your Bali itinerary.

Like many others, I was torn between going with the international luxury players and choosing an Indonesian premium player. While I'm a major fan of Four Seasons and St. Regis, the choice of home-grown team with an intimate 44 room property was the right one for me.

I stayed in a one-bedroom villa with a palatial bath, outdoor shower, immense private plunge pool, and outdoor dining area. Whatever you need is either in your villa or a quick call away. From straw hats to bug spray to cookie jars to sleep shirts, your needs are well cared for and from free internet to bottled water, one is always generously supplied with amenities.

Everyone quickly learns your name and smiles come standard at Komaneka! I utilized many services, including spa, shuttle, restaurant, and bicycle rental....they are so detail oriented that even the tires had been shined on the bike!

The spa services are among the best I've ever had and are popular, so it would be wise to book in advance, especially for afternoons when guests are hiding from the strong sun. $75 for a two-hour massage and $40 for an hour facial were bargains given the quality of the therapists and the beauty of the spa facilities.

Free shuttle service is available hourly from 8am to 10pm, bikes can be rented for the day for $10, and taxi service in unmarked small vans is readily available and cheap, even though I often took short walks into the old market area or to the monkey forest and its nearby shopping area.

The Komaneka provided one of the most memorable stays I've ever had....and better than many Conde Nast Gold List properties. Granted, you can find resorts where the all-out luxury quotient is a bit higher, but for overall quality, personalized service, and warmth look no further. An outstanding experience and an outstanding value!

We spent 4 nights at the Komaneka at Bisma and everything about it was perfect. The staff was friendly and attentive and would go out of their way to do whatever you asked of them. The setting of the hotel is breathtaking and very peaceful. It is not in the center of Ubud but about a 5 minute shuttle ride away. The hourly shuttle provided by the hotel was very useful and convenient. There are countless activities either provided by the hotel itself or that the hotel can book and organize for you if you are interested. The front desk staff is very knowledgeable of the area and the different tours and activities and they can help you plan out your time there.
The food at the hotel restaurant was very good - the breakfast portions were very generous and my husband and I found that we did not need to eat lunch most days. The hotel also offers afternoon tea from 3-6 every day which provides an array of sweet and savory snacks in case you get hungry while relaxing by the pool. We also ate dinner at the hotel restaurant a few times when we were too tired to leave and while the food was good it was definitely cheaper to eat downtown where there is no 21% added on for service and tax.
I rate hotel location only a 4 out of 5 simply because there were 2 nights when my husband and I were too exhausted to deal with taking the shuttle into Ubud center for dinner and I wished the hotel had been much closer to Ubud center so we could have explored more restaurants in Ubud.
I highly recommend getting a spa treatment or massage while at the Komaneka - the rooms are open to the river rushing right outside of the spa and it's a very relaxing experience.
