We stayed 2 nights after a week in Seminyak. It was so lush and green and the views amazing. Luckily for us- we were upgraded to the pool villa as we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, it was so spacious overall. The bed was enormous, infinity pool amazing, outside day bed so comfy and a great spot to enjoy the lush green view!
The staff very friendly and helpful, they couldnt do enough for us! We had late flight, so they stored our bags and allowed us to have a shower in one of the spa rooms before we departed the hotel (at no cost) We would highly recommend this property to both couples and families.
We used the regular shuttle in and out of Ubud. We did walk to Mokey Forest one day along a track thru the rice fields, it took about 15 mins and was an easy walk on a bumpy road.
A memorable hotel & location for all the right reasons!

To start with, this resort give you the feeling of actually living in a forest but with all the creature comforts of absolute luxury. My husband and I spent 2 days there in November 2011 and regretted not staying longer. Here is what we liked:
The Staff - Superb! Amazing attention to detail, everyone knows you rname, personal attention!! They even put put some flowers on the bed and bathtub for us. V romantic!!
The Room - Comfortable, welcoming, clean, well equipped (Apple TV!!) with every little need thought of before you can ask for it
The Resort - Well spread out with a walking trail that makes you feel you're in the forest. Superb Spa and clean airy restaurant with a wonderful view
The Food - Being vegetarian for the most part, we found the menu to lack in variety but the management were great in helping us out with off-the-menu items. Tell them about your food requirements before hand and the chef will meet you the day you reach. Then onwards its smooth sailing!
The Check-in Process - very very quick. All your paperwork is done in the comfort of your room!
The Shuttle Service to town - if you ever feel like leaving, the hourly shuttle is very conveneient and the drivers always have a shopping tip or two...

This is the best sopt to just lounge around, read a book, take a swim, walk the trails with your partner and generally relax. Absolute must - visit in Bali!!

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor for a better view or even better take a pool villa!

Stayed at Komaneka Bisma at the end of Oct 2011. This is a truly extraordinary hotel, not just any luxurious 5 star. The stunning location offering mind blowing views and stylish rooms with ultra modern comfort, dream-like infinity pool floating above rice fields overlooking tropical jungle, and superb spa etc. already mentioned in fellow reviews here, I can confirm that they are true. (Oh and also this place is kids-friendly). If any, words are not enough to describe the magic of this place, what you will go through inside out with all your senses- its air, sound, smell, touch, light and nightfall. You feel very much deep in nature despite being in the resort not far from Ubud centre. But above all, what I felt really makes this hotel stand out by far, even compared some superb 5 stars worldwide I stayed before, is how sincerely LOVING the staff are here. I guarantee that their love will take the experience of your holiday a rank above any other. I came back with such priceless memories. I left this hotel with very high respect for its staff. The worst part of staying at this hotel is ... having have to check out eventually!. Needless to say, I will be definitely going back. I don't think I am a easily-pleased-type but I have been truly impressed by them. Great respect to managers and its staff at Komaneka Bisma, I miss you. Those who are reading this pondering on hotels, Ubud first-timer or repeaters alike, don't let it through, this is it, I am telling you, with love!. Book now and enjoy. Have a nice trip, and pls remember to say hi to them from me, would you? Lots of love, M

Room Tip: stayed on 4th floor, excellent view

My husband and I spent the first 5 days of our honeymoon at Komaneka at the end of October 2011. This hotel was just magic and surpassed any expectation we had about our stay in Bali. The staff are extremely welcoming and personal - calling us by our nicknames and sharing their own love stories with us and leaving sweet notes in our room each night. We had fresh flowers in the room each night and candles lit over the bathtub and on the balcony. We also took advantage of some of their in-house activities, like wood carving, which was a great way to learn about local culture.

Breakfast is included and can be served in your room at request, which was an incredible way to get over jetlag and start the morning overlooking the rice paddies. Ubud is actually quite touristy, but as this hotel is off the beaten path, we were able to enjoy the tranquility of rural Bali, while still walking to many of the local attractions, such as to Monkey Forest.

We didn't have a private pool, but this didn't matter - the hotel pool is impeccably clean and warm, with a great view, and was often quiet, if not empty, during the day or for nighttime swims. The open-air spa is also a dream, over looking the river below.

We stayed at two other hotels after Komaneka, but there was something haunting about Komaneka that stuck with us throughout the trip... perhaps it was their super snuggly PJs!

Room Tip: The Bisma Suite is quite large, with a living area, very large bathroom and balcony. This was well...

Was there for a friend's wedding and stayed @ the Pool Villa. It was superb. The hotel was excellent, not just the environment, the staffs, the view, the food, the service, the activities and lots more.
Regretted not buying their sleepwear, it was sooooo comfy. Will be back. ;P

As the flagship of the Komaneka group of hotels in Bali, this is by far the most luxurious. I've stayed at both the Monkey Forest and Tanggayuda properties (which are both stunning and offer the warmth and charm that Komaneka is famous for), but Komaneka at Bisma is a stand- out.
While the hotel is located in town, it is still far enough away from the centre to give you the feeling as if you are in a private and exclusive haven. Surrounded by rice fields and forest, with a beautiful river running below, the rooms and villas are set on a hillside with stunning views.
I stayed in a Pool Villa which was one of the nicest and spacious villas I've stayed in. There is a large outdoor living area with kitchen, day bed (under cover), sun lounges, dining table and chairs, and the wonderful (and huge) private pool with infinity edge and a view down the valley. Inside is a king size canopy bed, dressing room and luxurious marble bathroom with deep tub and both indoor and outdoor showers. Everything looks fresh, new and well looked after. Friends stayed in a Suite room (standard room) and they also mentioned how spacious and luxurious the room felt, with a large terrace and stunning views. Although the hotel is set on a hillside, there's a discreet lift that takes you to each level (very handy in the heat of Bali).
Apart from the room, it's really the service that sets Komaneka apart. The staff are warm and friendly and always have a smile and 'hello' for every guest. The free shuttle bus which takes you to various places within Ubud town, is easy and convenient and the drivers are informative and friendly. Restaurant and room service staff are equally friendly and efficient, and the food is really good quality. We loved the little extras such as complimentary afternoon tea (served in the restaurant or in your villa), luxurious bath products, evening turn down and a special gift to take home.
A standout was the Spa centre. Located at the lower level of the property, adjacent to the second pool, the Spa is made up of inividual villas (some for couples, some for singles) with one side open to the forest and the bubbling river below. To relax and have a massage with the sound of the water running is really unique and the staff were lovely. A jacuzzi bath after the massage while looking down to the river was the perfect end.
The main reason for my stay was to attend a wedding which was held at Komaneka at Bisma. There is a purpose-build wedding chapel on site, which is a wood and glass structure that has a tranquil view of the forest and is located at the end of the property, offering privacy. The wedding set-up was beautiful with hanging flowers, and petals on the floor, and each guest was given a bag of rose petals to shower the bride and groom with after the ceremony. Following that was a fantastic buffet dinner which was set up on a large wooden deck area below the chapel and near the river. It was a great afternoon and evening, and the hotel staff did such a great job to make the whole event a success. If you are thinking of getting married in Bali, I could highly recommend Ubud and especially Komaneka at Bisma.
I will definitely be back to Komaneka in Ubud!

Room Tip: The Pool Villas closest to the wedding chapel offers great views of the valley and forest.

Stay in komaneka Bisma has made our holiday be the most memorable one!

Rooms are superb, service is even outstanding. Food are delicious. Many free activities offer such as learn Balinese dance, and art crafting.

The view is wonderful. Location is somewhat tiring when you want to go to monkey forest street.

However, it did not ruin our holiday since we had the best stay ever in Bali.
