We stayed at the Komaneka Bisma as our first stop in Indonesia. The rooms and views are very inviting and relaxing for tired travelers. Breakfast can be delivered to the balcony on the room which is a perfect touch for a first morning in Ubud! For wheelchair users, Bisma is a perfect choice for accessibility. After a walk to the Monkey Forest, the hotel shuttle driver saw us headed back up the hill and gave us a ride. Rooms are large with wide doorways and although not "accessible" with grab bars, etc., they are good for active wheelchair users. We would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Komaneka Bisma hotel in Ubud. This is a peaceful, lovely hotel. We are a family of five (three children), so we reserved connecting rooms. Unfortunately we were not told that the rooms were connected only by a shared balcony, and doors could not be left open due to mosquitos, so essentially they are two seperate rooms. That having been said, the rooms were lovely, with beautiful large bathrooms with huge shower and large tub, and very comfortable beds. The turn down service in the evening was wonderful, including pyjamas provided for everyone everynight, bottles of water and impecable service. Breakfast could be taken either on your balcony in your room, or in the restaurant overlooking the rice fields. The staff could not have been more obliging, or more polite, going out of their way to provide superior service. Every request was dealt with immediately and we were constantly asked if we needed anything. Breakfast is ala carte and prepared fresh. We had the american breakfast which was good and plentiful. Almost everyday a box of pastries from breakfast was either sent to our room or prepared for us to take with us on an excursion. The small touches like flower petal designs on the bed, rose petals left everynight, a basket left on the bed with remotes and a card with a quote, lovely glass bottles of shampoo and bath gel, bath salts, candles in the bathroom, and on the balcony lit for us every evening make this hotel so special. You are not left wanting for anything, including toiletries, mosquito repellent, straw hats for all of us , a woven basket for shopping trips, flashlights, lined wicker laundry hampers, indoor and outdoor slippers, umbrellas...no detail is overlooked. The staff call you by name, the spa facilites are beautiful and there is a jogging track, and a walking track where you have a lovely view of the river and small water fall. Afternoon tea is provided everyday, with refreshments, dessert and light snacks, the children were invited to try wood carving and weaving of small baskets used for temple offerings. There are hourly shuttles which will take you to the town centre, monkey forest, or market, I missed the shuttle one afternoon, and a staff member drove me to the market in another hotel vehicle. I would definetely recommend this hotel, not only for its location, but for the ambiance and impecable service. Oh, did I mention free wi-fi and apple tv with great selection of movies and music !

Absolutely brilliant. Best hotel my wife and I have ever stayed in bar none. We travelled here for a short 6 day break with our 16 month old son. Staff were amasing, especially with our son, taking him off our hands for a play as soon as we arrived, while we enjoyed a welcome drink. Although this place is definitely a honey moon place, we were made to feel very welcome indeed and we used their baby sitter service in the evenings which was also excellent. The Balinese are very very good with children.
We made use of the spa on a couple of occassions for massages and facials which is really recommended. Over looking the river, I can't think of a better place to be pampered.
We ate at the hotel restaurant and on our balcony enjoying very good standard Balinese. We also went out to ubud and ate at Bridges restaurant which was pure class with amasing food and service.
All in an excellent hotel.. I cannot see how anyone could ever make a single complaint it's that good.

The 110 Suite is magnificent! Welcome drink and dedicated cart to the Suite upon arrival was great. I love the first impression from the cafe looking after the pool and the terrace padi field. What a view! I melted and almost fainted (kidding). The Suite itself has its own pool, outdoor kitchenette, in and outdoor shower, fabulous bath tub, decent closet and internet tv.

The hotel offers free use of the pool, gym, an afternoon tea and a complimentary breakfast (cooked to order). A personal yoga instructor is also available upon request with a fee. WIFI Internet is absolutely free. A spa is situated within its facility but have no chance to utilize it.

Room Tip: Suite 110 is absolute scandalous luxury. It's at the corner end and quiet.

We stayed 2 nights at the K Bisma and 2 more nights at Alam Shanti. We and the kids enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. The Komaneka is set in a very special place with the river down below the rice paddies, there is a strong energy, lots of natural sounds, water, birds, frogs. You can sit on your balcony and just listen to this orchestra - a delight!

Very comfortable room in the main building even with two kids sharing, modern but still with a natural feeling. I was reluctant to book at first because of the 4-level building / modern appearance, but we found it blends very well in the surroundings, and overall we preferred this place to Alam Shanti despite its huge and beautiful room.

Good location, smiling and friendly staff, wonderful 33m swimming pool, pleasant food. Activities include walking tours, cycling (but it was impossible for them to find a bike with a baby seat even over 3 days), water sports (advice on kids age was confusing), wood carving (v interesting experience).

I just wish they could have been more knowledgeable when i asked for advice on places for antiques, masks and sculptures. They said "go to Mas", but Mas is not such a small village, and with no reference, you can spend a lot of time searching, which unfortunately i didn't have. Next time i will do my due diligence independently but i was expecting such a top quality local hotel (with joint ownership of the Neka museum!) to have good art references.
