Stayed at the Komaneka Bisma from the 8th to the 11th of May with my wife. This would be our second trip to Bali after just a month and we were having a bit of a hard time deciding if we should go back to our last hotel or try something different. After looking through Trip Advisor and reading so many wonderful comments about the Komaneka properties, we decided to not stay in a villa and try a room at Komaneka Bisma.

From the time we arrived at the property, we were greeted warmly by the staff. Mr. Gungdek, who was the resort manager made it a point to greet us personally. I have been to many hotels all around the world, but this would be the first time the resort manager actually came up to welcome us. Kudos, Gungdek! After getting our passports for registration, we were addressed by our names all throughout our stay. That would be one gesture that really touched us!

We were brought to our room, which was a suite (We figured out there are only suites or villas here). We were very impressed! Came to the conclusion that hey, we didn't really need a villa after all. Nice big bed, a sitting area, huge bathroom and a balcony facing their own paddy fields and endless greenery! What a view!

Our rooms were made twice a day. It is very nice, after a long day of walking around town to have your room all made up for the night! They even supplied their version of pajamas for you to slip on. And every night, there was a different bed time story for you to read too!

Breakfast the next day was interesting. We were expecting the standard buffet breakfast, but this was different. A set menu breakfast was given to us. If I remembered correctly there was the Komaneka, the Indonesian, the Balinese, the Healthy and the American. It was a very nice way of putting it through. The plus point is that the breakfast is freshly made when you order it. Great!

To get to town you could either take a short stroll down Jalan Bisma or take the hourly shuttle which was very convenient. If it gets full they will arrange extra cars to transport you to town.

The afternoon tea was wonderful. Usually, lounges or afternoon tea will normally be reserved for guests in a hotel that are staying in club rooms or higher. But here, everyone gets it! Very nice!

Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Komaneka Bisma. From the time we stepped in to the time we left (oh yes, Gungdek was there too when we left!), everything was top notch! I don't remember staying at any 5 star hotels around the world and getting such a memorable experience. Beats all the big hotels names by a mile! Small little touches, like the turndown service and staff remembering your name really made the difference. It goes down to the personal level for me.

To Mr. Gungdek and his team, my wife and I would like to send a heart felt thanks for making our stay extra special!

We would definitely return, very soon!

Room Tip: Their suites are excellent!

Komaneka resorts are just a great place to stay, verry verry good service. Everything you need is there. Also a free shuttle to bring you to places in Ubud.
Good location, just a short walk to downtown Ubud.
Clean, green, beautyfull decorated resort with large rooms. Good food, really like the a la Cart breakfast..... mjam. Great views also at the pool.
The pool was during our stay under construction, but no worries they will bring you to one of the other Komaneka resorts, just give a call whenever you like to go.
The Spa also has a nice location, down the river and nice decorated.
Komaneka staff is soooo nice and helpfull it really feels like home coming, everyone should experience a stay/holliday like this. But ....if i must choose i prefer Komaneka Tangayuda because its a smaller resort, at that place you really feel like your a part of the Komaneka family!!!

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful week in Ubud staying at Komaneka at Bisma. When we arrived we were greeted personally by the manager Mr Gungdek and asst manager Mr Adil. These two gentlemen along with the beautiful and always-smiling Ms Ninik at the front desk, are quite simply some of the friendliest and most helpful and happy people you will ever hope to meet. Our friendship and conversations with them all throughout the week was honestly a highlight of our stay. The resort itself is simply spectacular, from the elevated foyer area looking out over the jungle, to the pools, the restaurant areas, the grounds and the rooms themselves... WOW!. We stayed in a pool villa and quite simply it is the best accommodation I have ever stayed in, with our own private infinity pool and a sprawling outdoor living area with daybeds and outdoor kitchen. The air-conditioned interior was just as good with spacious bedroom and dressing areas plus opulent bath and indoor and outdoor showers...all completely private and looking out over elevated nothingness to the jungle beyond. Simply magic. The food was wonderful, the staff attentive but discrete and always friendly. This is not a party resort, far from it, it is a place to go to relax and unwind. I don't think we saw more than about 10 other guests at any one time, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves, which suited us fine. there are two picturesque resort pools to use or sit by and read... and the complimentary massage in the hotel spa down by the running river was a great experience. The hotel is a short walk into the centre of Ubud but remains just far enough away to be serenely quiet. We hired a motor scooter from a vendor 200m from the hotel gate (50,000 rp/day), which enabled us to zoom around town and explore the villages and rice paddies in the surrounding area. Ubud has lots of good restaurants and cafes and more upmarket boutique style shopping compared to the Kuta region. I cannot rate this place highly enough. We simply loved it.

Room Tip: One small word of warning - there is some construction going on sporadically nearby one end of the r...

The stay was perfect, what a luxury.

Friendly staff and very clean rooms, feels like home here.

Although the pool was under construction, this did not bother at all. There is a second pool that was good and there is a shuttle to their other paradis ; the Tangajuda !

Spent a four nights here in a suite. I kid you not, I felt like I was on the set of a James Bond film. We had a huge patio with a large infinity pool. Words or pictures cannot capture the sheer beauty of this place. The hotel is set off the main road in Ubud and built into the jungle. Its literally paradise. If you are even remotely debating on where to stay in Ubud, don't bother looking elsewhere.

Stayed 4 nights in a suite. Liked the location on Jl Bisma which is relatively close to city centre (we walked back and forth several times each day) but much more quiet. Beautiful hotel, huge and very well appointed rooms - especially liked the generously sized bathtub. Staff was extremely welcoming, from the cleaning personnel to the hotel manager. If we must mention one slightly negative point, it was the breakfast (a la carte), which we did not find quite up to the standard of the rest.

Spent three nights here at the end or April before heading to Seminyak for 3 nights.

Beautiful hotel in stunning Ubud. For our trip to Bali, we wanted a mixture of rice fields/jungle/the interior and then the contrast of busier, beach side, slightly more commercial Seminyak.

The Komaneka exceeded expectations and the hospitality is indeed excellent. The staff and management were very attentive and helpful in suggesting and booking things to do and see. The rooms are very well appointed. We went in relatively low season, outside of school holidays, but it was Golden Week in Japan. Not too many children around and there was only the need to have 1 pool open. The upper pool is stunning!

If you're planning a trip to Ubud - look no further than Komaneka at Bisma.
