We were due to stay at Komaneka at Monkey Village but, due to the renovations being carried out there, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite at the Bisma hotel. Wow!! We were genuinely in shock upon entering our suite - it was enormous and very luxurious. The huge balcony overlooked the rice fields and beautiful lush green backdrop. The shower in the enormous bathroom was also very big and amazing. Breakfasts and afternoon teas were superb and served by the most wonderful, charming staff. We were so privileged to have stayed at such a fabulous place, albeit for only 2 nights as part of a 7-night tour around Bali.

We stayed four days in a two-bedroom villa with a private pool. The hotel is well located in Ubud. The staf could not be more helpful. Breakfast is nice and the restaurant is good ven though it is on the quiet side. For a trendy and good dinner, there are much better options such as Bridges. We have alos been to the other Komanekas, and this one is definitely the best The one at Monkey Forest looked old and cramped in comparison and some of their guests were taking the Komaneka shuttle to come to the main pool at Bisma. The rooms are very nice although we found it very difficultot get a lot of light in the bathroom (probably to avoid mosquitoes). We did not see any mosquito during our stay at Bisma; the hotel is very good at dealing with this. We dod some tours and they provided us with a very good (senior) guide (Nakan) who was really fantastic. They also pointed us to very good restaurants such as Bridges or Mozaic (probably worth two michelin stars). Overall this was a great stay even though this hotel is definitely a class below Amanjiwo or St Regis in Nusa Dua.

We stayed here with a 4y.o. and a 2y.o. The place is lovely, with 3 beautiful swimming pools, the afternoon tea is compelling and the rooms cool and spacious with beautiful views over the rice paddies. But the thing that set this resort apart for us was the incredible service. Friendly and super helpful, especially with the children the whole time we were there. Then when our youngest became ill they could not have been kinder, to the extent of moving us back to a suite to wait for our airport transfer after we had checked out, at no cost. There are loads of beautiful resorts in Bali but I have never had such good service, they say they want to make you feel like you are family, and they do.

Had 3 days at this magnificent property and wished it was longer. Words do not do the property and service justice. Only very minor issue was the walk or shuttle to town was a bit of an effort, although being in such a great property was worth the effort. The Villas with the pool are amazing. The view is sensational. The staff make you feel like one of the family. Cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: Book the pool Villas they are sensational.

I have not given this hotel excellent for the folowing reason. As a previous reviewer has noted, noise from construction work at an adjacent property is very difficult to cope with. Our beautiful villa was literally underneath the building site and from 8.15 until 5 the noise was relentless (one hour off for lunch at 12!). They were drilling through concrete, not just banging or sawing. It meant that we were unable to stay in our villa by our pool. By moving to the hotel swimming pool it was possible to escape the main noise, although you were still aware of it, but had we known the situation when booking we would have booked hotel rooms and not paid extra for our own private villa. Some of the villas are on the other side of the hotel complex so are probably OK, but if you are in number 104 or any either side of this you will get no peace. It is not the hotel's fault that this is happening, but we felt that we might have been warned beforehand. Also there was no attempt made at any good will e.g. a small reduction in price or perhaps even one free meal in the restaurant to show willing. We felt disappointed by this apparent lack of concern.
The resort is wonderful and the staff superb. The restaurant is top class. In short it has everything to offer, except peace and quiet for the next few months! My advice is to go there next summer when the building work may have finished. Check with the hotel before booking.

WOW!! Thats all I have to say…..well until now. We stayed at the Bisma from July 26th for three nights in a one bedroom pool villa (villa 110) and to say we were blown away is an under-statement. From the moment we arrived at the Bisma to the moment we left, we loved every single minute of it. If you can afford the pool villa, its a must. Simply stunning. People say you get what you pay for, but we felt we got MORE than we paid for. A beautiful Villa and about as relaxing as any place could ever be. The staff were excellent and truly make you feel at home. If you get the chance, book in for a couples massage in the treatment rooms above the river. Couldn't recommend the Bimsa more highly and can't wait to go back.

We did not 'stay' at the Komaneka Bisma - we were staying at the Komaneka Rasa Sayang (which I also rated a 5). However we were lucky enough to be able to use the facilities at the Komaneka Bisma at our leisure.

The Komaneka Bisma was only a 10 minute walk away from the Komaneka Rasa Sayang. The Rasa Sayang can be found right in the centre of town on the main road, whilst the Bisma is a bit further back - though still accessible as i mentioned by a 10 minute walk, or if you are feeling lazy or have lots of stuff to carry the Komaneka hotels offer free private transfers around town.

The swimming pool at the Bisma is indeed one of the most beautiful we have encountered. It is a long infinity pool jutting out into the rainforrest. The pool at the Rasa Sayang was not as large, and didnt get as much sunshine as the Bisma. Thus we would spend the sunny day at the Bisma pool, and then spend some time in the afternoon lying by the pool at the Rasa Sayang.

The other standout of the Bisma is their restaurant. We had lunch there twice (it was billed back to our room at the Rasa Sayang). It was absolutely delicious! The Beef Rendang was the highlight meal of our entire trip - delicious!

As we didn't stay any nights here we cannot comment on the rooms, but hopefully we will be back one day to experience them.
