“Amazing Experience”
Reviewed 15 December 2013

What a great day! The driver was a bit crazy on our trip to the park but apart from that the experience was fantastic. You get up close and personal with the elephants. Our guide explained everything about the park and the different elephants. The ride through the gardens was peaceful and the gardens in the park or amazing.

The lunch that was included in our package was nice.

Overall a fantastic experience!

My husband and I were torn about visiting the Elephant Safari Park & Lodge, even though they advertise themselves as a place that rescues elephants. We decided to visit but drew the line at riding any animals or attending the show. Even without attending the show, we still saw elephants perform many tricks. I'm a little uncomfortable with that aspect of it, but overall enjoyed our experience. We didn't see any elephants chained up, as other reviewers have commented. All of the elephants seemed very healthy. It was an awesome experience to get to feed the animals, pet them and just be so close. I'm happy we made the decisions we did - to attend and what parts to skip.

My husband, one year old and I stayed four nights at The Elephant Safari Park and Lodge and it was the best start to our holiday in Bali that we could have wished for.

The Park is something the owner must be so proud of. What he and his wife have been able to do for the elephants, whose certain fate was dire, is really quite remarkable. I think what all visitors, whether day visitors or hotel guests, can see is the obvious love, bond and trust between the mahouts and the elephants. With animals, specially ones as strong as these, you can't fake that, if they weren't happy you would be able to see it in their behaviour. They are so calm and as hotel guests we saw more of the behind the scenes than day visitors would, like the training, and the bathing and fun the mahouts have with the elephants, it's like an elephant day spa getting scrubbed and rubbed and cared for in such a way.

The lodge rooms are huge, the bed was comfy, the bathroom is lovely with aromatherapy oil scenting the air, we had hand made after dinner sweets delivered to our room each night. The food was excellent too, some of the best we have had on our trip.

We would thoroughly recommend staying here for four nights or so, the experience is so worth it. But be warned, walking yourself to dinner feels so boring after the treat of an elephant chauffeur!

We bought the rafting + show + dinner and it was a really great day/night! The elephants beautiful and we enjoyed feeding them and taking photos and the elephant ride was fun too... We then enjoyed a dinner there but found the food to be average and it looks nothing like the pictures!!!! We were under cover instead of being outside under the trees like the photos suggest and you can't see the elephants from the restaurant like the pictures suggested. In saying that it was still a lovely day/night.

We stayed here in November 2013 for 2 nights with wife and 2 kids (2 & 5). The place was quiet as peak season was over so we almost had the place to ourselves. The elephants seem very well cared for here by all the workers. The staff are very friendly and food was good. The days are well laid out for you with washing elephants, elephant rides, talent shows (humane ones), riding elephants through the water! Also as part of our package we had white water rafting but as our kids were too young they were more than happy to swap this for massage for the wife and I. I would highly recommend this park for you to stay if you love animals as these creatures are amazing up close and well cared for unlike other parks within Indo.

Didn't stay here - just a day trip but it was great. Wasn't sure what it would be like but it was spotlessly clean, the lunch was the best I've had in Bali so far, the elephants seemed well cared for, the 'trainers' spoke excellent English and were knowledgable. Kids (7 and 3) loved the elephant ride and even more loved just feeding the elephants after the ride. Go!
