Great value for money, staff are very polite and friendly like all balinese people, we stayed for 3 nights and didn't mind staying more..

My friend and I shared Room 14, which was a lovely upstairs room with a double and twin bed, a nice bathroom, a large porch, and good wifi signal. Wayan, Jaya and all the fellows (and women - during breakfast) were so funny, kind, personable and VERY honest and thoughtful. They really seek to make a connection with the guests and make you feel at home. Fantastic hospitality. And remarkably quiet for being right on Monkey Forest Road!

Room Tip: Avoid room 23 at this time, as it has not been renovated and the lack of sun leaves it a bit damp.

Great for budget-minded travelers. Clean, though somewhat dated bathrooms. Nice quiet breakfast area--in back, surrounded by flowers. Food was very good.

Room Tip: First-floor rooms have no windows; porch is comfortable and shady, no particular view. Wi-fi recepti...

My sister and I spent a lovely few days in Ubud. We stayed at the Ubud Bungalow and were looked after every step of the way. We were picked up at Denpasar airport and driven back to Kuta at the end of our stay. The breakfast each day was a choice of banana pancakes, omelet, nasi goreng, accompanied by fruit juice, fresh fruit and coffee. The pool was a welcome treat at the end of each day. The staff were attentive and polite. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We would stay here again.

For a fussy and seasoned traveller, I have high expectations of accomodation standards. Ubud Bungalows ticked all the boxes for me. The location is the best in Ubud. Right in the heart of the restaurant precinct, and close to all other areas. The rooms are lovely and very clean - even when walking with bare feet. Staff were polite and attentive. I had to be saved from a HUGE gekko in my room in the middle of the night. The breakfast was small, no choice, but adequate. Food is so cheap, so I was happy to buy more when/if I was hungry. Would definitely recommend.

Down side .... I stayed in the first room. Wayan is building 8 more rooms, so the workers were onsite at 8.30am each morning, so no sleeping in. Building also going on next door, so some mornings I was woken at 7.30am by hammering. Also, bars closeby play music til quite late, so I had to use earplugs.

But overall, a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Pick a back room away from construction and noisy bars at night.

I have lived in Ubud for 2 years and was just returning for a month, so i stayed here for the first time. The location is really central, right on Monkey Forest rd. The grounds are beautiful and the pool area is really nice. The rooms are very basic, but a good size and very clean. The attached bathrooms are also very clean and well maintained. The breakfast is not particularly great, but the restaurant area is really pretty, and you can also ask to have breakfast brought to your room so you can have it on the balcony. The staff are really nice and they'll help you with anything, including changing money, tours and laundry. You can get good wifi in the rooms which is strong enough to skype with. The only downside is the walls are really thin so there's very little privacy and I got woken up a lot. But a set of earplugs will fix that. They've also just put up their prices by quite a bit, but you can get a discounted rate if you stay a month or longer.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms are best, downstairs it sounds like people are moving furniture!
