“Non-smokers beware!”
Reviewed 1 January 2012

Great place to relax and enjoy a meal - unless a smoker is nearby. We enjoyed the themed dinner nights and the breakfasts are really good too. It's the only restaurant on the Four Seasons property so you either like it or need to travel to Ubud.

“Romantic place with a great view ... especially during the Lunch”
Reviewed 24 October 2010

Four Seasons highend standard ... with a spectacular Bar at the nighttime. Especially the Terrace during the Lunch with a great view. Fusion and international food, high quality.

Thank you very much for the wonderful and relaxing evening at the Ayung Terrace!

Always a pleasure to be there and enjoy the high quality of hospitality.

“disappointing lunch experience”
Reviewed 24 March 2008

while we were staying at another villa in ubud, we went to the four seasons hotel sayan for lunch, because we wanted to try this hotel next time we come back to bali.

the entrance looks very pretty and we thought we would enjoy our lunch there. we first went to the reception to get some information about the hotel and the restaurant. on the contrary to our expectation, the lady refused to give us the map, saying "we don't provide a map to the outsides." well, english is not her first language (neither is mine), but i don't think anyone would appreciate that kind of explanation, though.

we went down to the restaurant downstair. we tried 'bento lunch box,' which was good but way overpriced. we found that we needed small spoons for dessert, and i asked the waitress. she went back to the cutlery wagon and didn't come back for 3-5 minutes, because she started talking on the telephone. she apologized when she came back with spoons. but i really couldn't believe we were having a lunch at a five star hotel restaurant.

as you can see on the photos, this hotel is very pretty. we haven't stayed there and i can't make any comment upon the room facility and such. but from our two-hour experience at four season hotel sayan, i don't think i ever want to come back here again.

we ended up spending about us$100 for two 'bento lunch boxes' and two mix juices. i could easily find much better lunch place on monkey forest road. also, our thai dinner at ritz-carlton ($80 for course dinner) was 10 times better than this.

btw, the lady working at the parking was very friendly and helpful. she called a taxi right away and offered us a bottle of mineral water while we were waiting.
