The restaurant has a great feel to it, really enjoyed the atmosphere and little personal touches around the place. The menu comes in the form of a newspaper which I'd never seen done before but absolutely loved, the good does ale a while to be delivered to your table as has been mentioned in other reviews but there's some great informative articles on the menu to keep you occupied so we really didn't mind. The food was worth the wait, really fresh and well seasoned and the chocolate milkshakes are to die for. We had a meal for two with drinks for only 200,000rp so was really very reasonably priced.
The menu is quite extensive so covers all tastes.
The only small let down was the staff were not very friendly and didn't really make themselves available to us and the other tables around. It wasn't a huge problem however, just something that could do with improvement.
Would recommend if you're in the Ubud area

I have been here numerous times to be disappointed, the chai I ordered was in a pot that was half full, barely warm, with no chai flavor, just milky and white. the sandwhiches from 40,000 to 60000 are tiny and served with nothing else on the plate. The staff is never friendly in the bali food shop, and all the bread tastes like day old bread, the croissants do not taste like they have butter in them and are dry as well, they offer one option of gluten free from all their bread, which is a barely edible crumbly bread that totally crumbles and falls apart when cut with even a very nice bread knife. Its also so dry its hard to swallow the bread. A lot of their grains and beans are portioned into 100g plastic packages, which makes for a lot of waste, and are quite overpriced. The kombucha tastes exactly like vinegar and barely drinkable, in fact i used it to clean dog poo off the floor. The raw cacoa i bought there went mouldy after a couple days in a vac pac plastic it came in. It was unrefrigerated at the shop. Some of the desserts are quite good like the dense chocolate ones, and the chocolate bars, they sell lots of chocolate and bread for a healthfood place. If you are allergic to gluten just stay away from this place, its dangerous to go in there, all that bread off-gassing.

We were in Ubud nearly a week and wish we had found Bali Buda on our first day. But we got to have our 3 last meals in a roll there and they were all wonderful! At first, we were sceptical about the extensive menu that offers so many dishes to cater to all tastes. But the food got us hooked, whether local or western. The fresh fruit juices and smoothies were amazing and the bread really fresh. We got to eat fish and it was no less than delicious. We were served by Ella on 2 occasions and she was wonderful and kind with our little one who really fell in love with her. The food was prepared with care and we could see the ingredients were fresh and of the best quality. The atmosphere at Bali Buda is relaxed, simple and comfortable. Food takes a little while to come, perhaps 30 minutes, but I think that this is because it is prepared carefully and also because it is, after all, Bali. Anyway, who should be in a hurry while on vacation? Plus, food cooked slowly is much tastier. In addition, prices are absolutely reasonable for Bali standards, not too cheap and not expensive either. You can have a nice meal for 3 at less than 30 USD depending on what you choose. We loved Bali Buda and wish we had eaten more meals there because the menu is very interesting. We'll certainly return on our next trip to Bali and hope to find Ella's smile again :)

Specially the original menu and crazy smoothies, such as the dosha balancing, made with vanilla ice cream, almonds and dates . We really feel better after having one of those.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. It has a mix of local dishes with international fare (hamburgers and pizza are on the menu). Get the green curry! The service was good and the prices very reasonable. They have a fun assortment of juices/shakes, including with some off-the-beaten-path ingredients like bee pollen. The semi-outdoor ambience is nice.
