“An excellent oasis in Ubud”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

A very unique restaurant with a large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Even my partner who is a raw vegan loved it. The humus is amazing as are the spring rolls. We went there several times and sampled several items. Avoid the Caprese but all the other salads are spectacular. The pizzas are also excellent - highly recommended!

“Wholesome and Tasty Treats”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

If you like slow food prepared with fresh, healthy ingredients, you'll appreciate Bali Buda. This open air restaurant serves great food all day in a relaxing and cozy open-air Balinese-style structure. I ate there three different times during my stay in Ubud and I wasn't disappointed once. They also have a health food shop downstairs with nourishing bakery and treats.

The best lunch you will have on Bali! You want to order everything on the menue! And go after a yoga class at radiantly alive studio which is just opposite the café!

“Good food but service...”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

The food is good here but the service personnel act like you are bothering them when you ask them for something. You get to hang out for as long as you want and is pretty comfy...an Ubud institution.

“Good food / Very slow service”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

The food and drinks at Bali Buda are good and the ambiance is nice however the service is very slow. We have visited Bali Buda three times and each time the service has been very slow. On our most recent visit we decided to keep the order simple in hopes that we would get our drinks and food within a reasonable amount of time. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived but customers were waiting on their orders. We ordered two waters, one healthy drink, and one wrap. After about 20 minutes of waiting and not even receiving our water I thought about going across the street to a convenience store to purchase water. The staff appeared confused and weren't responsive to tables needing assistance. When our drinks and wrap finally arrived we had to quickly eat and drink everything so we could make it to an event. I left our table and walked over to a staff member so we could get our bill and make payment. We did not plan for 45min to 1 hour at Bali Buda for such a simple meal. Bali Buda has the potential to be a much better restaurant if they can improve their level of service. In the meantime, there are better restaurant choices in Ubud.
