“A Slice of Paradise”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

Was greeted by manager Julie and receptionist Mandi, What a wonderful people going all the way to assist. I booked for a veranda room on the upper lever, but was unfortunately occupied. They are very apologetic and are willing to move us up the next day. But we decided to stay at the lower veranda to avoid the inconvenience for us. The place was cleaned daily, yes it's abit old, nevertheless they are continuing doing upgrading of the rooms. We truly enjoy our stay, the garden is well maintained with many features that bring tranquility to the body and soul. The pools are really refreshing.Quiet slice of paradise with the sound of running water right in front of our room. My wife had a massage, with in house masseur, she has great magical hands. Mandi did a great job in finding someone "Dewa" to bring us around his village, KELLIKI hope I spell it right. What a wonderful guy. He explained the Balinese culture, traditions, customs even the planning of the land. Highly recommended for those who want to have a true experience of a Balinese home. His wife even prepared a BANQUET for both of us. All these for a very reasonable fee.
Transportation was made easy with daily complimentary shuttle to town centre, Great for groups and families too.

Room Tip: Choose a veranda room

This being our fourth visit to Ubud, my wife and I were so glad we chose to stay at the d'Omah Hotel for the first time. To the wonderful warm welcome and our beautiful room it was the start to another great holiday in Bali.
The room was clean and tranquil amongst the lovely gardens. Loved the in room massages and friendly staff.
Breakfast was fresh and tasty, a great way to start each day.
We found it conveniently located, and enjoyed walking to the centre of Ubud
Looking forward to coming back

I stayed one night with a friend and thought for the price it was great value. Our room was newly tastefully renovated and the gardens and grounds are tranquil and look well maintained. The staff were super helpful and the breakfast was great. Would certainly stay again. Lovely peaceful setting and just enough luxury touches here and there to make the experience special.

My family and I stayed at d'Omah in Ubud two years ago and decided our yearly trip to Ubud whilst visiting Bali, we would stay there again. I was pleasantly surprised to see an improved change within the hotel, grounds and overall management. Definitely what this hotel needed, our Garden Villa was perfect to suit my families needs. Suburb staff service, I'll definitely be back this year!!

Room Tip: We stayed in a Garden Villa

Having stayed here three years ago we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. Due to massive rains and consequent traffic jams our arrival from Seminyak was hours later than expected. This did not phase the staff who greeted us with a welcoming drink and dispensed with the normal check in procedure as they were anxious for us to begin our stay and not worry about any paperwork, then took us down to the town in their shuttle well outside the scheduled run. This is typical of the service from the staff at D'Omah. The rooms are delightfully furnished and very spacious though an update in some of the fittings wouldn't go astray. The gardens are gorgeous and the pool settings very restful. I have been reading recent reviews and conclude that many people must be very hard to please. For the very reasonable tariff D'Omah has it all. Location, amenities, surroundings, service and charm. Update the outdoor blinds, a lick of paint and slick up the bathrooms and I would rate this place a 5.

Room Tip: The chili suite on the ground floor adjacent the small pool was very spacious with a lovely outdoor...

After seeing the D'Omah in Yogyakarta, I was prepared to be stunned by the roominess of the one in Bali. It was not quite the luxurious spaciousness of the one in Jogja. However, the service was very accommodating--we were able to order a meal at 10 p.m. after our late arrival. As I was sharing a room with a colleague, the bathroom was just not very private--it was roomy, but the door was a weave and not very soundproof. I think there are other boutique hotels that may be more value for your money. Also--don't try to compare this hotel to its sister in Jogja--it would be unfair.

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained.

This is an old hotel, which is good news and bad news. The good news is a wonderful, mature garden, huge swimming pools, a quiet and secluded setting, a very pleasant restaurant and delightful staff. The bad news is - as many other reviewers have commented - the hotel is run down. The price is reasonable and the service is charming, but it is wearing to confront every day the evidence of neglect and lack of maintenance in the rooms, gardens and pools.

Room Tip: Choose one of the verandah suites.
