The staff were excellent, the breakfast was great, the pools are amazing with stunning views and the location is fine, especially considering that there is a free shuttle. The only thing we did not love was our lumbug family room which was small and poorly laid out although the traditional style is quite nice. We traveled as four adults and I would recommend that families go for the 2 bed bungalows instead unless you are literally 2 parents and 2 small children.

Beji Ubud Resort is set in beautiful grounds that are well maintained with a choice of swimming pools. Shuttle Service into town was very reliable. The Staff were warm and hospital and booking of tours with them were handled well. Within walking distance were some restaurants, spas, art galleries and an excellent museum. We were satisfied with the breakfast which was included. We were a family with older children and truly enjoyed and loved our stay there.

For our 2nd Stay in Ubud in May, I chose Beiji Ubud after reading the reviews and seeing the photos.
I like its convenient location on a rustic hill-slope - within walking distance to lots of good eating places and spas as I’ll indulge in such especially when on holiday !

As advised by TA posters I emailed Beiji directly for the best rates (in Jan 2014 not long after returning from our previous Bali trip) for May {somehow I seem to be planning the next trip almost immediately after our return from last trips} - was very happy to pay less than half the previous nightly rate paid for our 1-bedroom villa in an inconvenient location in Ubud during the super-peak After Christmas-New Year period.

So stayed 8 nights in May 2014 and will be staying second time with Beiji another 5 nights next Jan 2015 - put together with cheap promo Budget Flights and Groupon Deal for next 5N Seminyak Hotel too.

Besides Beiji’s lovely location, I love their huge clean rooms (stayed at a Garden Deluxe room with a more-or-less personal pool just outside) with sofa + other seating and separate closet-pantry-dressing table area with LOTS of SHELVES to place our clothes and bags & hangers to hang a couple of light dresses {+ Safe but feel the Safe should have been placed at lower 2nd level instead of at Top Shelf as we’re not tall enough to reach that to fiddle with its mechanism etc} - the bed linen and towels are changed daily. Ours must have been a renovated room as the light at the dressing table was bright enough - have read complaints on the too-dim lights etc there.

Beiji is popular with the French who seem to form over half their clientale as evidenced by the number of French channels for the satellite TV.

The bathroom was also spacious with separate bath-tub and shower areas - besides the Rain Shower there was also a hand-held-shower BUT the water from the shower WILL spray out of the ‘confined shower area’ no matter how the shower was angled and WET the floor area outside badly - could have designed a bigger shower area given the generous space ?! There was a skylight in the bathroom so it was bright enough in the day even tho’ the bathroom was fully enclosed [I much prefer practical enclosed bathrooms to avoid the mozzies and for the air-conditioning]

One big CON : The HOT Water Supply for the shower is inconsistent as you’ll suddenly shudder when the cold water suddenly comes on BUT given all the other PROS of this place, this can be ignored !
Suggestion : Do please have more English Satellite TV channels too.

The staff at Beiji were very friendly and the reception staff spoke good English.

The breakfast buffet was adequate and they’ll cook your daily 2 eggs the way you want - sunnyside up / omelette / hard or soft-boiled / etc
The restaurant serves up some tasty items at very reasonable prices - their healthy organic smoothies etc are good too

There are 5 infinity pools scattered within the manicured grounds - a couple of them at the lower levels look out to gorgeous jungle views with the rushing river below. The restaurant overlooks the pool with a diving board. Greenery and flowers abound in this tranquil boutique resort hotel with its outdoor Massage Gazebo or Bale - where your complimentary massages are done. There are also shaded seating areas/bales and tables with umbrellas found on the extensive grrounds {I might try to sit there to catch a sunset ?} - tho’ it might be too humid to sit out there in the day as I much prefer to be cooled by the air-conditioning !

Beiji is a peaceful boutique resort with just 30 rooms in various categories - except for a couple of Lumbung Rooms found nearer the main road which could be noisy with vehicle noise, the other rooms will enjoy peace & quiet - BUT as Beiji is found in the jungle or rustic hill-slope, there is no escaping the sounds from crickets and lizards. However we slept extremely well each night in the air-conditioned rooms !

Beiji’s 3x daily shuttle van to/from Ubud Palace at the centre of town is extremely useful.
Those who like walking can of course easily walk to the nearby eating places {Naughty Nuri’s , Mozaic, Minami, Indus, Warungs Pulau Kelapa & Munari, etc} and nearby Spas {Bali Botanica Day Spa, Sedona Spa etc}. Some of the spas such as Bali Botanica and Sedona Spa also offer free pick-ups and drop-offs.
Taxis are cheap and it will only cost 30k - 50k IDR to Ubud Centre.

We are very happy and satisfied staying at Beiji and have been recommending them whenever possible - however I hope it doesn’t get overly popular else the rates and occupancy/vacancy might increase to our disadvantage !

Beiji is really a worthwhile gem of a place - very peaceful & relaxing at great reasonable affordable pricing !

Nice staff and good breakfast. The whole area and very peaceful and relaxing. It is really a place where you can hide all the worlds bad things.

second time here exceptional service and vale for money,
We took the honeymoon package just for what was thrown in flowers on floor with I love you , fruit basket on arrival, 1 hour massage VERY RELAXING,, intimate evening meal with more flowers and candles 4 courses, samosas, soup, chicken corden bleu, orange infused bananas and then a cake after perfect.
The room is large with air con, king size bed, large bathroom,a safe for your piece of mind nice rain shower head clean linen every day, quiet but respectful staff.
5 pools to choose from, the quietest down the bottom with infiniti look over the valley is great to relax in or around but they are all good ,
Breakfast is good they will cook eggs to order ,you can go to the resturant at any time nothing seems to hard they are their for your order, evening meals pricing is quite reasonable, there is cheaper avail in Ubud which is $4-5 dollars by taxi. Defiantly recommend this place we will stay here next visit to Bali

Room Tip: garden villa, quiet tranquil gardens

The resort is located a bit out of the center though definitely worth it. the grounds and views are amazing and so peaceful. the staff are all so caring, friendly and helpful. really make you feel welcome and would do anything you requested. Breakfast was also beautiful and you are well looked after. recommend the fresh juices! only complaint, i assume our double story room was down near housekeeping/maintenance sheds as woken by voices and noise, though still a beautiful setting to be woken up to.

Room Tip: rooms near reception have beautiful mountain views into the valley
